Abstract

The results of observations conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Banda Aceh, obtained that: 1) the problem-solving ability of students in solving mathematical problems is still low: 2) students have not been taught to use technology as a medium for learning mathematics, especially GeoGebra: 3) the learning methods used are still conventional. The formulation of the problem in this study are is there a difference in the problem-solving ability of students who use the Gallery Walk method and the demonstration method, both of which use Geogebra on the algebraic function derivatives in class XII F1 and XII F2 at SMA Negeri 1 Banda Aceh. This study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the problem-solving ability of students who use the Gallery Walk method and the demonstration method. This study is a quantitative study with an experimental method. The samples taken in this study were two classes, namely XII F1 as the experimental class and XII F2 as the control class. The instrument used in this study was a test (pretest-posttest). Based on the results of the analysis of test data two independent samples obtained thitung = 2, 068 and ttabel = 1.998 at the level = 0.05, then the thitung > ttabel or 2.068 > 1.998, thus H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a significant difference in the problem-solving abilities of students taught by the Gallery Walk method and those taught by the demonstration method on the material of algebraic derivative functions at SMA Negeri 1 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

The general public often regards mistletoe as a parasitic plant that can harm other plants. However, some communities aware of its benefits have utilized mistletoe as an alternative treatment for various diseases. Tea mistletoe (Scurrula atropurpurea (Bl.) Dans.) is one type of mistletoe that the community has used to treat various ailments. Based on phytochemical analysis, this plant contains active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, tannins, saponins, phenolics, and glycosides, which act as antioxidants. Therefore, this study was conducted to provide new information about the potential of tea mistletoe (Scurrula atropurpurea (Bl.) Dans.) leaf extract as a natural antioxidant with low toxicity effects through the DPPH method and to demonstrate the effectiveness of this natural antioxidant in inhibiting free radicals. This research is an experimental laboratory study with a quantitative approach. A series of sample concentrations was prepared, with 0,15 mL of each concentration placed into a 12-well plate and homogenized with 2,85 mL of 0,1 mM DPPH solution. The mixture was incubated for 30 minutes before its absorbance was measured using a UV-Visible Spectrophotometer. The results of this study showed that tea mistletoe (Scurrula atropurpurea (Bl.) Dans.) leaf extract exhibited very strong antioxidant activity, with an IC50 value of 3,32 ppm, comparable to quercetin. Keywords: tea mistletoe, DPPH, antioxidant, extract.

Abstract

Scientific publication is an academic activity that must be carried out. This article aims to analyze scientific publications in education: the “scourge” for academics. Several academics consisting of 10 lecturers, 10 teachers, and 10 students were interviewed to obtain valid data. Apart from that, observations and analysis of several documents were carried out to support valid data. The results show that academics have difficulty carrying out scientific publications due to limited knowledge and information regarding how to write scientific articles by journal standards, difficulty finding credible journals, difficulty identifying journals that suit the topic and scope of the article, language limitations, high publication costs, and intensity. Rejection from the journal editor. Based on the treatment carried out, namely through training on the effective scientific publication strategy "MeRePeCeKoRe", there was an increase in the knowledge and ability of academics to conduct scientific publications by 80%. Academics need practice and a habit of writing articles to improve their skills in scientific publications.

Abstract

Technology-based learning media is an innovation in the current learning process. The aim of this research is to produce the development of augmented reality-based media in Phase C science learning, especially regarding changes in earth conditions. The media must meet valid criteria, be very practical and effective. The method used in this development is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which consists of the following steps: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluations. The data collection techniques are used validation of media, materials, language, teacher response questionnaires and test questions. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that the development of augmented reality-based learning media on material on changes in earth conditions which was developed based on material validators, media validators, language validators to analyze the level of validity obtained a score of 92.86% with very valid criteria, the teacher response questionnaire validator for the field of practicality got a score 92.5% with very practical criteria and the evaluation question validator which aims to see the level of effectiveness obtained a score of 80.7% with effective criteria. So the development of augmented reality-based learning media in Phase C science and science learning on changes in earth conditions is very valid, very practical and effectively used as a medium in the learning process.

Abstract

Learning difficulties are disturbances or obstacles resulting in less-than-optimal learning outcomes. Analysing student difficulties can be done by re-examining student work and asking students to explain how they solve math problems through interviews. This study aimed to describe students' difficulties in solving probability problems of first-grade high school students. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were 20 students from two high schools in Banda Aceh. Data collection techniques in this study used tests, interviews, and documentation. The subject selection technique was based on the answers to the subject questions that were wrong and considered interesting to explore further and the subjects who could provide the most information so 2 subjects were obtained from the participants. From the data analysis and discussion results, it can be concluded that students' errors in solving probability material were caused by a lack of understanding of the concept of using and applying formulas. The cause is that students are not careful and cannot understand the meaning of the question.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the physical condition of UBBG UKM archery athletes based on five components of physical fitness, namely upper body muscle strength, core muscle endurance, flexibility, balance, and coordination. The study involved 20 athletes who underwent a series of physical tests, namely a push-up test for upper body muscle strength, a plank test for core muscle endurance, a sit-and-reach test for flexibility, a one-leg balance test for balance, and a throw-and-catch for coordination. The results showed that the majority of athletes were in good physical condition, although there were some areas that still needed more attention. In the push-up test, 50% of athletes were in the Good category, 25% in the Very Good category, and 25% in the Moderate category. In the core muscle endurance test, 45% of athletes were in the Good category, 30% in the Very Good category, and 25% in the Moderate category. In the flexibility test, 40% of athletes were in the Good category, 20% in the Very Good category, and 40% in the Medium category. In the balance test, 50% of athletes were in the Good category, 35% in the Very Good category, and 15% in the Medium category. Finally, in the coordination test, 75% of the athletes were in the Good and Very Good categories. Overall, the study shows that most athletes are in good physical condition, with some areas that need to be improved to support optimal archery performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of squad jump training on smash accuracy in volleyball games for extracurricular students at SMPN 17 Banda Aceh City. Based on the data analysis conducted, the results of the study showed a significant increase in students' smash accuracy after being given squad jump training. In the descriptive statistical test, the average pretest score was 68.12 with a standard deviation of 5.512, while the average posttest score was 77.62 with a standard deviation of 6.692. This shows a significant increase in the average after the training was carried out. In addition, the results of the normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk showed that the data were normally distributed, with a p-value greater than 0.05, which means that the normality assumption was met. Hypothesis testing using the Paired Samples Test showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The t value = -12.810 with a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that the null hypothesis stating that there is no difference between the pretest and posttest can be rejected.
