Abstract

This study was designed to examine individual information needs in the utilization of library resources by lecturers asactive users in the Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Library Padang. The purpose of this study is to determine theinformation needs of lecturers with the availability of library materials and the extent to which these materials are usedby lecturers and provide recommendations for improvement. This research is a descriptive quantitative research with asample using proported stratified random sampling technique so that the number of samples is 193 people from 376lecturers as active users. The main finding of this study is that there are many library resources such as textbooks,journals, research monographs, research reports, newspapers, indexes/abstracts, internet services, as well asdictionaries/encyclopedias and others. Lecturers use the library mainly for consulting reference materials in the form ofperiodicals especially journal articles in electronic form at 65%. In general, 75% of lecturers need and use the library forresearch purposes and utilize books more than other sources of information. A number of recommendations weremade to improve library usage, but the most prominent suggestion was that the library should acquire more up-to-dateand relevant materials, and lecturers should be informed about newly acquired materials.

Abstract

This writing was carried out at the UPT Library of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This writing discusses the existence of Instagram social media as a promotional tool at the Imam Bonjol Padang State Islamic University (UIN) Library. The purpose of this writing is to find out what activities on Instagram social media are promotional activities. The method used in this writing is qualitative research with a literature study approach. The results of this research are social media Instagram, various promotional activities carried out by UPT UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Library, namely various activities such as: 1) Information on the latest collections 2) Thematic events 3) Writing and Reading Competitions 4) Public Lectures and Seminars 5) Workshops 6 ) Digital Promotion 7) Video Trailer namely 8) Collaboration 9) Volunteer Program 10) Awarding 11) Social Inclusion Activities. The conclusion of this research is that various activities carried out at the UPT UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Library are aimed at promotion in increasing user interest in utilizing library services and services.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Library of SMA Negeri 1 Juntinyuat, Indramayu Regency. This research aims to determine the loan circulation service system usedin the SMA Negeri 1 Juntinyuat Library, Indramayu Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method, namely by taking research data from the field directly. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation in the Juntinyuat 1 Public High School Library. Circulation service activities at the SMA Negeri 1 Juntinyuat Library, Indramayu Regency, are first: membership services, second: loan and return services for library materials, and third: providing sanctions to librarymembers who violate the rules. The obstacles faced are that there are still many students who are not used to using computers and there are differences in the characteristics and attitudes of the students so the use of the circulation service system in the Juntinyuat 1 Public High School Library is still not working optimally because they are not used to using the SLiMS9 (Bulian) application on computers.

Abstract

"This research aims to find out whether there is an influence of the quality of library services on students' reading interest at SDN 8 Pulau Rimau, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The approach in this research is quantitative descriptive. The sample in this research was classes V and VI, totaling 50 students. The data collection technique in this research is a questionnaire. The results of the research show that there is a significant influence between the quality of library services and students' reading interest. This indicates that work discipline positively influences employee performance because the t-table value and significance level are < (0.05), indicating a positive influence. Based on the coefficient of determination test results, R square has a value of 0.617 or 61.7%. This figure illustrates the extent of the variable influence of Library Service Quality on students' reading interest, while the remaining 39.3% is influenced by other variables outside this regression equation or variables that were not studied."

Abstract

E-resources services are one of the information services provided by libraries to meet students' information needs. This research aims to see whether e-resources services are easy to access and meet the information needs of master's students and what efforts the library has made to help students access e-resource services to meet the information needs of master's students. Ease of access to information is seen from the indicators put forward by Wang & Strong; easy to access, easy to find, complete, up to date, and easy to operate the system. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, indepth interviews and documentation. The results of this research are that the e-resources services subscribed to by the UIN Sunan Kalijaga library are easy to access and meet the information needs of master's students. And the efforts made by the library really help students in meeting the information needs of master's students.

Abstract

Librarians play an important role in improving literacy. Literacy improvement programs require quite a lot of funds and resources. Games can be a means of increasing reader literacy. This study aims to observe citations and words that are widely used in abstracts and titles of previous research regarding the use of games by librarians. This study uses a quantitative method called bibliometrics to collect and analyze data. Data was taken from the Scopus website as many as 117 from 1981-2023. Data were analyzed using R Studio software. The results show that most of the documents cited were written by authors from European countries and the United States. However, none of this previous research was cited by fellow local authors. The results above also show that the words that are often used in both the title and abstract of previous research include the word health.

Abstract

Despite being an important cultural destination in West Sumatra, the Adityawarman Museum is still not optimal in its promotion and marketing efforts, resulting in low tourist visits. This qualitative research with a case study approach aims to explore the promotional strategy of the Adityawarman Museum through the use of information media, particularly virtual tour videos. Examining the concept of promoting information institutions such as implementing the right promotional mix, building a positive image, and utilizing the latest media and technology, this research emphasizes the importance of presenting attractive and informative visual content to attract public interest. Through observation, in-depth interviews with museum managers and tourism stakeholders, as well as literature studies, the research results show great opportunities in utilizing virtual tour videos as the main promotional media for the Adityawarman Museum. Virtual tour videos allow the public to experience visiting the museum virtually, exploring the museum's collections and facilities interactively. This strategy involves developing quality video content with engaging narratives, visualization of featured collections, and virtual guidance by competent museum guides. In addition, the promotional strategy should also involve collaboration with various tourism stakeholders to reach a wider audience. In conclusion, virtual tour videos have great potential in effectively promoting the Adityawarman Museum, increasing awareness, encouraging actual visits to the museum, and building a positive image of the institution through an engaging and informative virtual experience.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the performance improvement of circulation service librarians at the Library and Archives Service of Solok City through the implementation of matrix codes. The methodology used is descriptive quantitative research by distributing questionnaires to 99 respondents consisting of librarians and library visitors. The results show that 45.45% of respondents strongly agree, 54.54% agree, and no respondents disagree or strongly disagree with the use of matrix codes in circulation services. More specifically, it was found that 54.54% of respondents agree that matrix codes simplify and accelerate librarians' work in entering new library members' biodata. The implementation of matrix codes allows visitors to register as library members independently by simply scanning the matrix code and filling out personal data through a digital form. This reduces queues at circulation services and increases time efficiency for librarians in serving other visitors. Additionally, the application of matrix codes also helps reduce paper usage and minimize the risk of errors in recording new member data. This research demonstrates that the implementation of matrix code technology has had a positive impact on improving the performance of circulation service librarians at the Library and Archives Service of Solok City by simplifying and accelerating the registration process for new library members.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how to cite scientific articles by Lancang Kuning University lecturers in online journals published in 2019-2021. The research method used is descriptive quantitative research. The data collection techniques using observation, documentation and literature study. The results of the study show that the total number of articles opened was 2,340 articles, the number of articles in 2019 opened with 611 articles, the number of articles in 2020 opened with 811 articles, and the number of articles in 2021 which opened 918 articles. The highest number of articles per faculty is from the Faculty of Engineering with a total of 440 articles, while the lowest number of articles is from Postgraduate with a total of 82 articles. The number of articles cited was 761 articles and the number of articles that were not cited was 1,579 articles, while the number of articles cited was opened 2,479 citations. The highest number of articles cited was in 2019 with a total of 311 articles and the lowest number of articles in 2021 was 152 articles. and 5 subject articles that are frequently cited, namely the first with the subject of Sales Information Systems 101 citations. The second with the subject Indonesian Throughflow obtained 45 citations. Third, with the subject of Training which was opened in 2020, four with the subject of K-Means Alghoritm recording 31 citations, and the fifth with the subject of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with a total of 27 citations.

Abstract

The aim of this research is research is to find out and the role of librarians and the utilization of collections for reference service users at the Archives and Libraries Office of West Sumatra Province. This research uses qualitative methods by using observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain primary data, as well as documentation to obtain secondary data. Based on the result, it can be it can be seen that the reference librarian of the West Sumatra Provincial Archives and Libraries Office in meeting the information needs of the library users has played a role in helping users who have difficulty finding the desired collection, besides that the reference librarian also directs the user to find the collection on the shelf and guides the user to search for printed collections by doing it together to find the collection needed. The innovations made by the reference librarian of the West Sumatra Provincial Archives and Libraries Office are such as carrying out user education activities which include direct guidance, which includes collection search guidance, guidance on using OPAC, and information search guidance. Librarians also provide reference cards for librarians who have not found the reference sources they need.
