Abstract

This study examines the adoption of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and its impact on patient experience in Indonesian private hospitals, focusing on the mediating role of health service quality and patient safety. Based on the Information System Success Model (ISSM) and the Donabedian Outcome Process Structure framework, this study uses a quantitative survey design involving inpatients from two private hospitals in Central Java, Indonesia. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire compiled from validated measurement scales and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM). EMR adoption is measured through indicators of timeliness, accessibility, completeness, accuracy, and clinical decision-making support. Healthcare quality is measured by the SERVQUAL dimension, patient safety based on the International Patient Safety Goals (IPSG) and KARS standards, and patient experience using the Picker Institute's multidimensional framework. The results showed that the adoption of EMR significantly improved the quality of healthcare services (β = 0.756, p < 0.001) and patient safety (β = 0.725, p < 0.001), while directly improving the patient experience (β = 0.224, p < 0.001). Patient safety positively mediated the relationship between EMR adoption and patient experience (β = 0.282, p = 0.002), while quality of service showed a negative mediating effect (β = −0.248, p = 0.006) indicating a possible challenge of the workflow or adaptation process. The study concludes that EMR adoption plays a role as a strategic enabler that connects safety, quality, and patient experience. Effective governance, staff competence, and user-centric system design are critical to optimizing digital transformation and strengthening patient-centered healthcare in Indonesia's private hospitals.

Abstract

With patient satisfaction as a mediating variable, this study investigates how website quality and service quality influence patient perceptions of hospitals. Conducted at Dr. Slamet Public General Hospital in Garut, Indonesia, the research employs a quantitative, explanatory design using structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze data from 385 respondents. Website quality WEBQUAL is measured across seven dimensions usability, content, design, functionality, service interaction, trust, and interactivity while service quality is assessed using the SERVQUAL model. Patient satisfaction encompasses experience, communication, and accessibility, and hospital image includes perceived care quality, trust, brand reputation, and information accessibility. The results demonstrated that both website quality and service quality significantly enhance patient satisfaction. In turn, patient satisfaction positively influences hospital image, and also mediates the effects of website and service quality on hospital image. The study concludes that digital touchpoints, particularly hospital websites, play a strategic role in shaping patient perceptions and institutional reputation. Practical implications suggest that hospitals should integrate digital optimization with service excellence to foster patient satisfaction and build a competitive image. Limitations include the study’s cross-sectional design and localized scope, with recommendations for broader sampling and longitudinal analysis in future research.

Abstract

The comorbidity of hypertension and diabetes in the elderly is a significant health problem because it increases the risk of complications and the burden on medical services. In resource-constrained healthcare facilities, machine learning approaches can facilitate more efficient risk-based screening. This study aimed to evaluate the ability of machine learning models to predict diabetes, hypertension, and their comorbidities in elderly patients in Bangka, and to identify key clinical factors contributing to these risks. This study used medical record data from 279 elderly patients in the emergency department. Two models were compared: logistic regression and Random Forest, with predictor variables including age, sex, BMI, waist circumference, and blood pressure. The results showed that the Random Forest model had moderate discrimination ability for diabetes (AUC 0.67) and hypertension (AUC 0.64), but poor discrimination ability for comorbidities (AUC 0.56–0.57). Adiposity (BMI and waist circumference) and blood pressure were the main determinants of risk. Overall, this model has the potential to serve as an initial screening tool, though it still requires recalibration, the addition of clinical features, and external validation before operational implementation.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of the Fuzzy Inference System method to predict rice yields in Magelang City as an effort to support food security planning. The data used included harvest area, production, and productivity with the period 2021–2022 as training data and 2023–2024 as test data. The prediction process is carried out through the stages of fuzzification, formation of fuzzy rules, inference using min–max operators, and defuzzification using the centroid method. The prediction system is designed to be web-based so that it can be used by farmers, government agencies, and related parties in decision-making. The results of the study show that the Fuzzy Mamdani method is able to produce predictions that are close to actual data with a low error rate. For example, the prediction of 109.20 tons in a harvest area of 18 Ha is close to the actual data of 106.56 tons, and an RMSE value of 1.43 tons is obtained which is better than the seasonal naïve and linear regression methods. With stable accuracy and flexibility in updating regulations, this system is suitable for use as an agricultural planning tool, especially for food distribution strategies, planting planning, and rice stock management in Magelang City.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia, with maternal factors, including knowledge of postpartum family planning methods such as the Metode Amenore Laktasi (LAM), potentially influencing prevention practices. This study highlights LAM knowledge as an underexplored determinant of stunting prevention behavior. This study aimed to examine the association between maternal knowledge of LAM and stunting prevention practices in Sikumana, Indonesia. An analytical cross-sectional design was employed involving 60 mothers with children aged 0–24 months selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire assessing socio-demographic characteristics, maternal knowledge of LAM, and stunting prevention practices. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that most mothers had moderate (41.7%) and poor (33.3%) knowledge of LAM, while only 25.0% had good knowledge. More than half of respondents (56.7%) demonstrated adequate stunting prevention practices. A statistically significant association was found between maternal knowledge of LAM and stunting prevention practices (p = 0.003), with mothers who had good knowledge more likely to exhibit adequate practices compared to those with lower knowledge levels. In conclusion, maternal knowledge of LAM is significantly associated with stunting prevention practices, highlighting the importance of strengthening maternal education as part of integrated strategies to prevent Stunting

Abstract

The primary objective of this study is to examine the impact of the green economy and local wisdom-based entrepreneurial innovation on the revenue of weaving MSMEs in Southwest Sumba Regency. Employing a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, this study observes local handwoven fabric artisans. From the existing population, a sample of 45 business operators was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were gathered via Likert-scale questionnaires and subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression. Field findings demonstrate that implementing a green economy—through eco-friendly raw materials, resource efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable product creation—positively boosts income. Concurrently, innovation rooted in local heritage drives revenue growth by exploring traditional motifs, preserving authentic weaving techniques, embedding cultural values, utilizing local narratives, and strengthening product identity. Simultaneously, both aspects play a crucial role in enhancing competitiveness, profitability, and business sustainability. These final outcomes prove that accelerating weaving MSMEs relies not merely on product quality, but on strategic vision that merges environmental preservation with the power of local cultural roots.

Abstract

Endometrial cancer (CA) is a cancer that originates from the inner lining of a woman's uterus and is the most common gynecological cancer experienced by women. The standard treatment for patients with early-stage endometrial cancer is hysterectomy, which is a procedure to remove the uterus. One approach in performing hysterectomy is the abdominal approach. The purpose of this study was to evaluate changes in pain (NRS), functional activity (Kenny Self-Care), muscle strength (MMT), and digestive function after the provision of pre- and postoperative physiotherapy interventions in one patient who underwent a total hysterectomy with an abdominal approach. The research method used a case report or case report on a 70-year-old female patient during pre/before and post/surgery total hysterectomy with a total of 3 meetings at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta. The exercises given to the patient were breathing exercises, isometric abdominal exercises, Kegel exercises, mobilization exercises, and exercises to help restore digestive function. The evaluation results in this case report showed clinical changes in pain parameters (Numeric Rating Scale), muscle strength (Manual Muscle Testing), functional activity (Kenny Self-Care), and subjective assessment of digestive function in this patient. In conclusion, early exercise is effective in reducing pain and anxiety, improving physical function, and accelerating recovery after hysterectomy according to the principles of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) in this case report.

Abstract

Perineal rupture remains a common obstetric complication in vaginal delivery and contributes significantly to maternal morbidity. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of prenatal gentle yoga on the incidence and severity of perineal rupture among third-trimester pregnant women undergoing vaginal delivery. A quasi-experimental study with a control group design was conducted at Sikumana Community Health Center from February to March 2026 involving 30 participants, divided into an intervention group (n=15) and a control group (n=15). The intervention group received prenatal gentle yoga sessions three times per week for four weeks, while the control group received standard antenatal care. Data were collected using observation sheets and medical records, and analyzed using Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U test, and logistic regression. The results showed that the incidence of perineal rupture was significantly lower in the intervention group (40%) compared to the control group (73.3%) (p=0.048). The severity of perineal rupture was also significantly reduced, with no cases of severe rupture in the intervention group and a significant difference between groups (p=0.021). Logistic regression analysis indicated that prenatal gentle yoga reduced the risk of perineal rupture by approximately 72% (OR=0.28; p=0.041). In conclusion, prenatal gentle yoga may serve as a promising non-pharmacological intervention to reduce the incidence and severity of perineal rupture among pregnant women undergoing vaginal delivery. However, considering the quasi-experimental design and relatively small sample size, further large-scale randomized studies are required to confirm these findings before broad clinical implementation.

Abstract

Hysterectomy is a major gynecological surgical procedure commonly performed in cases of uterine myoma and may lead to various postoperative problems, such as pain, decreased muscle strength, limited mobility, and impaired functional activities. These conditions can negatively affect patients’ quality of life if not managed properly. Physiotherapy plays an important role in accelerating recovery and preventing complications due to postoperative immobilization. This case report aims to describe the physiotherapy management of a patient following total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy due to uterine myoma. The method used was a case study of a 59-year-old female patient who complained of postoperative wound pain, abdominal muscle tightness, and limitations in functional activities. Physiotherapy interventions were provided in three sessions, including pelvic floor exercises, deep breathing exercises, bed mobility (right and left side-lying), active exercises for upper and lower extremities, range of motion exercises, transfer training, and early ambulation. Evaluation was conducted using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) for pain, Manual Muscle Testing (MMT) for muscle strength, and the Kenny Self Care Index for functional activities. The results showed a significant reduction in pain, improvement in pelvic muscle strength, and increased functional ability from total dependence to full independence. Physiotherapy interventions are effective in supporting functional recovery and improving the quality of life of patients following hysterectomy.
