Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of curriculum implementation in Islamic education in the era of globalization, using Ahmad Rusydi Thu’aimah's perspective as the theoretical basis. The research method used is a literature review enriched with a comparative analysis of various previous studies from the reputable journal SINTA. The results indicate that Thu’aimah's curriculum principles, including material relevance, functional content selection, a communicative learning approach, and competency orientation, are highly relevant in improving the efficiency of the Islamic education curriculum. The integration of Islamic values with 21st-century competencies has proven to produce a curriculum that is adaptive, effective, and maintains Islamic identity. However, the implementation of an efficient curriculum faces several obstacles, such as low teacher digital literacy, resistance to innovation, and limited technological resources in some Islamic educational institutions. This study confirms that implementing Ahmad Rusydi Thu’aimah's curriculum principles can be a strategic solution to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of Islamic education amidst global challenges

Abstract

School principals play a strategic role in improving the quality of learning through the implementation of systematic academic supervision and educational evaluation. This article analyzes this role by integrating Juwdat Izzat Atwi's educational management concept in Al-Idarah al-Madrasiyah al-Hadithah with empirical findings from various national studies. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study identifies how Atwi's principles of visionary leadership, strategic planning, ongoing supervision, and data-driven evaluation can be applied in the context of Indonesian schools. The results show that supervision conducted objectively and collaboratively, accompanied by follow-up coaching, can improve teachers' pedagogical competence and learning quality. Conversely, supervision that is solely administrative in nature does not have a significant impact. Educational evaluation has proven to be crucial as a basis for decision-making and program improvement, especially when supported by accurate data analysis. This study concludes that integrating supervision and evaluation within a single Atwi-based management cycle can strengthen internal school quality assurance and support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. Recommendations are provided for strengthening principal competencies in coaching, data analysis, and the application of professional supervision

Abstract

Islamic Higher Education (PTI), both state and private, plays a strategic role in developing intellectually, spiritually, and morally superior Muslim human resources. However, the differences in institutional status between State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) and Private Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIS) often give rise to differences in philosophical orientations, paradigms, and educational practices. This study aims to analyze the nature of state and private Islamic higher education from the perspective of Western and Islamic educational philosophies, identify common ground and philosophical differences between the two, and formulate philosophical implications for the development of an integrative and value-oriented paradigm for Islamic higher education. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research on relevant classical and contemporary literature. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques and a comparative-philosophical approach. The results show that Islamic higher education exists in a dialogue between modern rationality developed in Western educational philosophy and the transcendental values ​​that are at the core of Islamic educational philosophy. The differences between PTKIN and PTKIS are more implementative and managerial in nature, rather than in their underlying philosophical objectives. This research emphasizes the importance of developing an integrative paradigm of Islamic higher education to maintain academic relevance while strengthening the epistemological and axiological identity of Islamic education amidst global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of innovative learning approaches in improving students' learning motivation and active participation in the learning process at SMAN 1 Darangdan. The background of this study is based on the fact that there are still students who are less active in learning activities and whose learning motivation is not evenly distributed in the classroom. Innovative learning approaches are considered as an effort to create a more active, creative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students at SMAN 1 Darangdan. The results showed that the implementation of innovative learning approaches through group discussions, problem based learning, collaborative learning, presentations, and the use of digital media was able to increase students’ enthusiasm for learning. Students became more active in asking questions, expressing opinions, collaborating, and participating in the learning process. In addition, students’ learning motivation also increased because learning became more interesting and less monotonous. However, there were still several obstacles, such as limited time, differences in students’ abilities, and inadequate supporting facilities. The conclusion of this study indicates that innovative learning approaches play an important role in improving students’ learning motivation and active participation, as well as supporting the creation of an effective learning process.

Abstract

This study examines the process of developing information technology-based innovations at MA YPPA Cipulus through the implementation of the PIESA (Academic System Education Innovation Platform) application. Madrasahs, as formal educational institutions with an Islamic character, are now faced with the demands of digital transformation that can no longer be postponed. Using a descriptive qualitative research approach with data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, this study found that PIESA is able to integrate academic management, digital attendance, and communication between stakeholders in a single platform. The implementation results show a significant increase in administrative efficiency and positive changes in the institution's work culture. This study contributes to the literature discourse on technology adoption in Islamic boarding school-based educational institutions, which has so far been limited.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has increasingly influenced modern teaching and learning practices. However, the implementation and effectiveness of AI in secondary school settings have not been widely investigated. This research seeks to analyze the influence of AI-supported learning on students’ academic achievement and learning motivation. The study applied a mixed-methods approach using a quasi-experimental design involving 60 eleventh-grade students who were separated into experimental and control groups. Data collection was conducted over four weeks through pre-tests, posttests, and structured questionnaires. Quantitative data were processed using t-test analysis, while qualitative responses were interpreted through thematic analysis. The results reveal that students who participated in AI-assisted learning demonstrated higher academic performance and greater engagement compared to those in conventional learning environments. In addition, the use of AI encouraged more interactive and personalized learning experiences, which positively affected students’ motivation. These findings suggest that AI has considerable potential to improve educational quality and support individualized instruction in secondary education. Therefore, this study provides valuable insights into the role of AI as an innovative tool for increasing the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes in schools

Abstract

Academic supervision is a crucial strategy for improving the quality of education, particularly in developing teacher competency in Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah). As the primary implementers of the learning process, teachers are required to possess strong pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies to create effective and high-quality learning. However, in practice, various obstacles remain, such as low learning innovation, suboptimal use of educational technology, and weak classroom management. This paper aims to analyze the role of academic supervision in improving teacher competence in Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic Senior High School). The method used is library research, reviewing various sources such as books, scientific journals, and educational regulations relevant to academic supervision and teacher competence. The results of the study indicate that academic supervision plays a significant role in helping teachers improve the quality of lesson planning, learning implementation, the use of educational media and technology, and learning evaluation. Furthermore, academic supervision can also improve teacher motivation, discipline, and professionalism through continuous and humanistic development. Effective academic supervision requires the principal's competence as a supervisor, a harmonious working relationship, and follow-up on supervision results. With planned and continuous academic supervision, teacher competencycan develop optimally, thus improving the quality of learning and education at Islamic Senior High Schools.
