Abstract

Yogyakarta Special Region is widely known as a student, tourist, and cultural city. These conditions triggered Yogyakarta's development and growth to be very rapid. So environmental problems arise, which, if not immediately addressed, will worsen environmental conditions. The type of research carried out was descriptive-qualitative through observation and interviews. The research results showed that many developments violated legal and environmental rules. The environmental impacts that occur include a reduction in the amount of green open land, a reduction in water catchment areas, sanitation problems, groundwater availability, and river pollution. Disaster risks arising from development include landslides on river borders due to development, flooding, and land shifts. Efforts that need to be implemented to manage and prevent environmental damage include the implementation of environmental and social management systems, the implementation of institutional functions, and efforts to develop community capacity through training and community education. Meanwhile, efforts are being made to reduce disaster risk through physical mitigation, biological mitigation, and the mitigation of social, economic, and cultural impacts.

Abstract

In this journal, the impact of public waste on environmental pollution in the MMTC market will be discussed. In previous research, it was found that waste management that is not environmentally friendly can have a negative impact on environmental health and society. Garbage can cause contamination of air surfaces and air bodies used by humans, disrupt life in the air, and cause unpleasant odors. Apart from that, rubbish can also cause shallowing of the air, resulting in blockages that can cause flooding. Therefore, public awareness and education is needed about good and correct waste management to minimize the negative impact of waste on the environment and public health. Case studies can be conducted to analyze waste management practices in the MMTC market, the type and amount of waste produced, as well as the impact of waste on the environment and public health. This study can also provide suggestions for improving waste management practices in the MMTC market and increase public awareness about good and correct waste management.

Abstract

Community-Based Sanitation Program (SANIMAS) is a form of government policy implemented by the Ministry of Public Works since 2006 regarding sanitation improvements and is designed to empower communities, Low Income, Communties (MBR), as well as disadvantaged communities, communities living in dense residential areas, slums, and poor in urban and rural areas. Apart from that, the SANIMAS program also places the community as actors, decision makers and those responsible for activities starting from identification, planning, implementation, management and supervision. This research aims to look at community perceptions of the implementation of the Sanimas Program, as well as look at the MCK infrastructure that has been built by the government to empower underprivileged communities and areas with high defecation rates. The method used in this research is the Qualitative Descriptive method. The results of this research show that the Sanimas Program ini Yoboi Village has been implemented by building 22 toilet units for 22 residents’ houses, whilw 40 other housing units have not been built, out of a total of 62 housing units there. The Sanimas Program is able to have a positive impact on people’s lives, namely increasing the level of dignity of the community, improving the level of environmental and community helath. Im implementing the Sanimas Program, the government has not fully built the infrastructure needed by the community to answer Sanitation problems. In terms of community empowerment, not all of them have been able to be empowered due to a lack of guidance from the regional government for the target community.

Abstract

Landslides are natural disasters that can result in loss of life and property. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out inventory research on areas prone to landslides. The model applied to determine the point of distribution of landslide disasters and areas of potential distribution of landslide disasters is a qualitative descriptive spatial method. Several factors that cause landslides are geology, rock properties, stratigraphy, geological structure, level of weathering and seismicity, climate, rainfall, thick soil, solum. , slope topography, vegetation density and human land use. The results of the analysis show that in Jayaura Regency, Sentani District, there are 3 classes of landslide hazard levels, namely not vulnerable, somewhat vulnerable, quite vulnerable, and vulnerable. In general, Jayapura Regency, Sentani sub-district, is quite prone to the spread of landslides, but there are three sub-districts that are vulnerable, namely Hinekombe sub-district, Sentani village, Bart, Sentani sub-district, Sereh village in the middle and Sentani sub-district, Tollan village,

Abstract

This research is entitled Community Participation in Development Planning in Trikora Village, Benawa District, Yalimo Regency. Community participation in Trikora Village, Benawa District, Regency is still very lacking. Because if you look at the level of participation such as thoughts, skills, goods and money, it is still very lacking, but participation in terms of community energy is very enthusiastic. Apart from that, the main factors that influence the level of community participation are age level, length of stay, intensity of interaction and type of leadership. The results of this research are that there are five levels of community participation in village development, namely thought, energy, expertise, goods and money. The participation that can be carried out by the community is participation in terms of thinking, because in other matters the people of Trikora village are still very limited in their abilities. There are two factors that influence the level of community participation in development in Trikora Village, namely internal and external which are described by age level, length of stay, intensity of interaction, and type of leadership. The age level of the community in Trikora village greatly influences the low level of participation, the length of stay is also very influential because it is directly related to the community's emotional ties to where they live. The intensity of interaction also influences low participation in Trikora village and the level of autocratic leadership makes people reluctant to participate in developing Trikora village.

Abstract

Sanoi Village and Ronggaiwa Beach are villages that are located in Waropen District and are part of the province of Papua. Along the Sanoi Village Road and Ronggaiwa Beach is a road that runs along the coastline and is an accessibility route between villages and the logistics of maritime transportation which is an economic route of the Waropen District Government so abrasion handling must be carried out immediately. The study examines the extensive calculations and advance backward coastline and also the exploitation of the local wisdom of the community as an abrasion countermeasures. The research methods used to the objectives of the study are quantitative descriptive methods, spatial analysis, time series analysis and analysis of local intelligence indicators. Quantitative deskriptive analysis is by displaying field images and presenting width changes in coastlines and coastline backward velocities throughout 2012, until 2022. Spatial analyses using ArcGIS software and field observations. Time series analysis to observe the changes in the width and backward speed of coasts by looking at the 2012 image, up to 2022. Local intelligence indikator analysis is an analysis that identifies the local abilities that communities use in performing abrasion backwardness. The results of the research showed that there was a wide change of coastline and the rate of reversal of the coastal line along the year 2012 to 2022, in which four years once counted the area of blood abrasion and the speed of retrocession of coastal lines. Based on the results of observations found that the change in coastalline occurred due to the magnitude of abrasions that occurred in Sanoi Village and Ronggaiwa Beach. However, with the knowledge of local wisdom that the community possesses, it can prevent and control abrasion by using the environment to form the traditional talud that is often referred to as the local community with the name Talud Rufia.

Abstract

Mangroves have high ecological and economic value for local communities, as spawning grounds, nursery grounds, feeding grounds for marine life, and act as protection against abrasion. Protected mangrove forests provide many choices for coastal communities to meet economic needs. However, the activities and exploitation of humans that increase from time to time can threaten, destroy and even reduce the stability of the life, quantity and quality of mangrove forests. This study aims to determine the physical and chemical parameters of the environment, the species composition and structure of the mangrove forest community in Paradiso Beach, Oesapa Barat Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City. This research is quantitative descriptive. This research is located at Paradiso Beach, Oesapa Barat Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City. Methods of data collection by making observations and recording the results of observations and interviews in the field, analysis in the laboratory and documentation. Data analysis begins with data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that station I had parameters of temperature (270C), pH (8.08), salinity (20.5‰), DO (6.42mg/l) and station II had parameters of temperature (280C), pH (7.99), salinity (21.7‰), DO (7.43 mg/l), the parameters of the two points of this station meet the environmental quality standards for mangrove forest communities. The composition of mangrove forest types at the two station points only consisted of 3 families with 3 mangrove species, namely Sonnetaria alba, Rhizophora apiculata, and Avicennia alba. Community structures of the mangrove forest at station I and station II were categorized as damaged with rare criteria at the tree level, sapling level and seedling level. Importance Value Index (INP) of station I (258%) and station II (222.1%), this shows that Sonneratia alba has a higher level of spatial tenure in mangrove forest communities, diversity index (H') at station I (0.64) and station II (0.71), this shows that the mangrove forest community has environmental stability. and the uniformity index (J') of station I (0.68) and station II (0.76), this shows an unbalanced distribution pattern between tree species in mangrove forest communities, and dominance index (D) of station I (0,61) and Station II (0.51), this shows the concentration and distribution of the dominant Sonneratia alba species in the mangrove forest community of Paradiso Beach, West Oesapa Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City.

Abstract

Background: Household waste management is an important effort in preserving the environment. Household waste, which includes various types of materials such as organic and inorganic waste, has the potential to pollute the environment if not managed properly. The purpose of this writing is to provide a better understanding of the importance of managing household waste in environmental conservation efforts.Method: The research method used is a literature review which involves collecting and analyzing various sources of information relevant to the topic of household waste management. Results: Household waste management is very important to maintain environmental cleanliness and public health. Household waste, which includes organic, inorganic and hazardous waste such as batteries, can pollute the environment if not managed properly. Management methods such as waste separation, recycling and composting can help reduce the negative impact. Despite facing challenges such as minimal public awareness and limited resources, collaboration between the government, community and the private sector can improve household waste management. With good management, apart from protecting the environment and health, it can also provide economic benefits, such as additional income from recycling. Therefore, awareness of the importance of good and sustainable waste management needs to be increased.
