Abstract

Social relationships within peer groups are a crucial factor in students' academic and personal success. Good relationships enable students to fully realize their potential. However, many students experience difficulties interacting, such as feeling isolated, easily offended, and even having communication problems via social media. This article represents a best practice conducted by researchers. The activity was conducted in a single meeting, focusing on social relationships within peer groups. This best practice study found that students were quite active in participating in group guidance services, beginning with a game of names played by all group members. Group guidance, using a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach, employing cognitive restructuring techniques and discussion strategies, improved students' understanding of social relationships and helped them develop their potential. Students became more active, less awkward or shy about speaking in front of others, and more open, which directly improved the quality of their interactions with peers.

Abstract

This study explores Tawheed (the Oneness of God) as a psychological foundation for attaining Al-Nafs al-Mutmainnah (the tranquil soul) within the framework of Islamic psychology. It examines how Tawheed and Dhikr function as theological as theological and cognitive mechanisms that foster inner peace and emotional stability. Employing a library-based qualitative approach, this research analyzes classical Islamic texts and contemporary psychological studies to identify conceptual and empirical intersections. The analysis reveals that Tawheed, when internalized through spiritual cognition and ethical alignment, restructures human perceptions of anxiety, attachment, and self-control, producing a coherent sense of meaning and security. Furthermore, Dhikr practices demonstrate neuropsychological effects, including increased prefrontal cortex activity related to emotional regulation and reduced amygdala activation associated with fear responses, threby supporting their therapeutic value. These findings indicate that integrating Tawheed-based cognition with Dhikr practices forms a validated model for spiritual resilience and emotional well-being. The study concludes that Islamic psychology provides a holistic paradigm of mental health that bridges theological belief, psychological functioning, and neuroscientific evidence.

Abstract

Character education has been regarded as a fundamental dimension of Islamic education aimed at developing individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, and possess noble character. This article examined the philosophy of Islamic character education as a conceptual and normative foundation for shaping students’ personalities. The study employed a qualitative approach using a library research method by analyzing primary sources such as the Qur’an and Hadith, as well as secondary sources including the works of prominent Islamic education scholars such as Al-Ghazali, Ibn Miskawayh, and Muhammad Omar al-Syaibani. The findings show that the philosophy of Islamic character education is rooted in the principles of tawhid, human fitrah, and divine revelation as the core foundations of educational practice. Character formation is implemented through role modeling, habituation, moral instruction, motivation and deterrence (targhib–tarhib), and storytelling methods. Furthermore, the study highlights that effective implementation of Islamic character education requires strong synergy among families, educational institutions, communities, and the state. Therefore, the philosophy of Islamic character education serves as a strategic framework for fostering a generation that maintains a balance between intellectual competence, spiritual maturity, and moral excellence.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Holland’s personality types (RIASEC) in predicting professional teacher readiness among pre-service teachers enrolled in the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG), particularly in the Guidance and Counseling specialization. Using a quantitative correlational design, the study involved 30 PPG students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a Holland Personality Types (RIASEC) inventory and a professional teacher readiness questionnaire, both of which demonstrated satisfactory validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis. The results revealed that Holland’s personality types have a significant and positive effect on professional teacher readiness (β = 0.860, p < 0.001), indicating that higher congruence between students’ personality characteristics and the demands of the guidance and counseling profession is associated with higher levels of professional readiness. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.740) indicates that 74% of the variance in professional teacher readiness can be explained by RIASEC personality types, while the remaining 26% is influenced by other factors beyond the research model. These findings highlight the central role of vocational personality in shaping professional readiness and suggest that integrating personality-based considerations into teacher education programs may enhance the effectiveness of professional preparation for future guidance and counseling teachers.
