Abstract

The tobacco industry is a strategic sector in Indonesia, contributing significantly to state revenue and employment absorption. Although Indonesia is known as a major tobacco producer, the demand from cigarette manufacturers for specific types of tobacco has driven imports from countries such Tiongkok, Brasil, India, Zimbabwe and Turki. PT Harum Tembakau Indonesia, a newly established company in 2024, was founded to meet this demand by supplying imported tobacco to manufacturers. In facing competition with more established firms, an effective marketing strategy becomes critically important. This study aims to analyze the influence of the marketing mix (product, price, place/distribution, and promotion) on manufacturers' purchase decisions regarding imported tobacco, with a case study on PT Harum Tembakau Indonesia. This research adopts a quantitative method using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach. The findings indicate that the variable place (distribution) has a positive and significant effect on purchase decision (β = 0.296; p = 0.006), while price does not show a significant influence (β = 0.120; p = 0.391). Interestingly, product (β = -0.386; p = 0.019) and promotion (β = -0.310; p = 0.001) exhibit negative and significant effects on purchase decision. The R² value of 0.225 suggests that the marketing mix model explains 22.5% of the variance in purchase decisions. These results have strategic implications, highlighting the need for the company to emphasize distribution reliability and to re-evaluate its product and promotion strategies to better align with the needs and expectations of manufacturers. This study is expected to serve as a reference for formulating more effective marketing strategies in the future.

Abstract

Businesses today are increasingly developing following the needs of the market, such as the existence of a packaged vegetable business that was created because of this. Mojokerto Sayur (MOSAY) is one of the many packaged vegetable businesses in Mojokerto that faces challenging conditions and dynamic competition. This condition also makes MOSAY's sales turnover experience a decline to an increase that has not been able to reach the target every month. Therefore, MOSAY needs an appropriate business model and requires the implementation of new strategies in order to increase its sales volume. This research aims to analyze MOSAY's business model with the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach which will then be evaluated according to SWOT analysis so that it will create recommendations for improvement in each element of the business model. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data analysis techniques using BMC and SWOT analysis which includes the use of IFAS and EFAS. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. Informants in this study were selected purposively totaling 10 people consisting of owners, employees and consumers of MOSAY. The results showed a strategy that leads to supporting an aggressive strategy or “Growth Oriented Strategy” on the SWOT analysis diagram which will be used as a recommendation for BMC improvement. The implementation results show that each element in BMC requires improvement recommendations with the resulting strategy can be used as a consideration by MOSAY in making business decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Fraud Pentagon, Audit Quality, and Financial Performance on the risk of financial statement fraud at PT Indofarma Tbk during the period 2020-2023. The method used is a quantitative approach with a linear regression model, as well as fraud detection through the Beneish M-Score and evaluation of risk factors using the Fraud Pentagon Model. The results showed that the Beneish M-Score value was consistently above the -2.22 threshold, indicating the potential for earnings manipulation throughout the observation period, with the highest peak in 2022. In addition, the Fraud Pentagon Score increased significantly in 2023, mainly influenced by the pressure (1.00000) and competence (0.94069) factors, which are the main indicators of increased fraud risk. Although the regression test results show that the effect of the three variables is not statistically significant (p-value > 0.05), the Fraud Pentagon has the highest practical contribution (R² = 0.302) in explaining the variation of report manipulation. This finding confirms the importance of monitoring financial pressure and perpetrator competence in the early detection of fraud. This study recommends strengthening corporate governance, increasing auditor independence, and managing financial pressure as more effective fraud prevention strategies.

Abstract

This research explores the conflict resolution methods employed by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) in Sumenep Regency in the context of enforcing regional regulations, with a particular focus on the displacement of street vendors (PKL). The implementation of these regulations frequently leads to social tensions, especially when they impact marginalized groups like street vendors. Using a qualitative case study method, the study was carried out in urban parts of Sumenep, including Taman Tajamara and Giling Sumenep. Data were gathered through comprehensive interviews, on-site observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that coercive enforcement measures often provoke stronger public opposition, whereas approaches that encourage cooperation and community involvement are more successful in fostering mutual trust and resolving disputes peacefully. The research highlights the necessity of embedding social justice values and restorative approaches in regulatory enforcement to promote constructive and harmonious relationships between authorities and the public.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine how career progression, work-life harmony, and remuneration affect job satisfaction among employees at PT Wijaya Gyokai Indonesia. In the context of increasingly fierce business competition, effective human resource management is the key to the company's success. The chosen research design is quantitative with primary data collection through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, involving 150 employees as samples. Findings from the analysis indicate that both career advancement and financial rewards exert a positive and statistically significant impact on employee satisfaction. In contrast, work-life balance appears to have no meaningful effect. Simultaneously, the three factors contribute 41.1% to the variation in job satisfaction. The findings emphasize the importance of companies in improving career development programs and fair compensation systems to increase employee job satisfaction, while the work-life balance aspect needs a more contextual approach to have a more significant impact.

Abstract

The era of globalization has had a significant impact on the world of finance and banking. However, this also challenges companies, including improving the integrity of the financial statements. The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) issued a financial statement integrity in 2020-2023 regarding the inconsistency of several banks in presenting their financial statements. The institution most adversely affected by fraud is the financial and banking industry at 41.4%. This loss is caused by investor distrust which makes companies in this sector lose money due to fraudulent financial statements. Based on this phenomenon, financial reporting is required to be disclosed with integrity. Many factors can affect the integrity of financial statements such as auditor independence, good corporate governance, and also the quality of the audit performed by the company. This study aims to examine the effect of auditor independence, independent commissioners, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, audit committees, and quality of audits on the integrity of financial reporting. The object studied was banking sector companies listed on the IDX in 2019-2023 with a sample of 115. The research method used was multiple linear regression analysis to identify the relationship between the independent variables on the dependent variable.
