Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of compensation and person-job fit on work engagement among media workers residing in Cirebon City. The study employed a quantitative survey method, utilizing multiple linear regression analysis on data collected from 130 respondents. The results show that person-job fit has a significant influence on work engagement (r = 0.560; p < 0.000), while compensation shows a significant relationship with work engagement (r = 0.227; p > 0.005), and person-job fit has a significant influence on work engagement (r = 0.260; p < 0.001). These two independent variables explain 32% of the variation in work engagement (R² = 0.320). The validity and reliability of the regression model have been confirmed through classical assumption testing. These findings emphasise the importance of alignment between individuals and their jobs in enhancing work engagement in the dynamic media industry, which does not solely rely on financial incentives. The implications of this study encourage media organisations to prioritise selection and management of human resources based on person-job fit for the sustainability and productivity of the workforce.

Abstract

Enhancing employee performance is influenced by competence, training, and pay. The study’s goal was to examine how these three elements affected worker performance in Kuningan’s poultry processing sector. The study employed a quantitative, associative research design. Out of 242 employees, 151 respondents were chosen for the study using a purposive sampling technique. Using SmartPLS software, questionnaires with a five-level Likert scale were distributed in order to collect data, which was then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The findings indicated that while compensation did not significantly affect employee performance on its own, competency and training did. On the other hand, with a 54.1% contribution, competence, training, and pay all significantly affect employee performance. Competency is the variable that influences other variables the most strongly.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of leverage, capital intensity, and profitability on tax aggressiveness with corporate social responsibility as a moderating variable. The object of this research is consumer non-cyclicals sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2023 period. The method used in this study was quantitative with a purposive sampling approach to obtain secondary data from the company's annual report and sustainability report. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression and moderated regression analysis (MRA). The results of the study showed that leverage and profitability had a positive effect on tax aggressiveness, while capital intensity did not have a significant effect. Furthermore, corporate social responsibility has been shown to negatively moderate the relationship between leverage and profitability to tax aggressiveness, but does not moderate the relationship between capital intensity and tax aggressiveness. These findings indicate that a commitment to social responsibility can dampen companies' tendency to aggressively evade taxes. This research made an important contribution to the development of the tax accounting literature as well as practical implications for policymakers and corporate management in designing ethical and sustainable tax strategies.
