Abstract

The presence of legal aid is considered very important for countries that use equality before the law guidelines. So far, the provision of legal aid has not been seen as significant in reaching poor people or groups. This kind of research needs to be done to provide information and education to the wider community that there is still justice being created in this country. This research is qualitative research, using an empirical juridical analysis approach to research aspects. The data collection technique of this research is by document study method, more precisely using secondary documents in the form of case files during this case, then by structured interview technique whose sources are LBH Medan volunteers and Okta and Sukma, and finally by literature study technique. The end of all the struggles of LBH Medan volunteers was determined by the Panel of Judges of Medan District Court by handing down a verdict of acquittal (vrijspraak) in case Number 2258/Pid. Sus/2020/PN Mdn and also the Panel of Judges restored the rights of the defendant from all legal charges. There are several considerations presented by the Panel of Judges in the acquittal (vrijspraak) in this case, that it was not Okta and Sukma who made the mistake of giving drugs but Endang Batubara. In this case, in terms of state expenditure through the provision of food and drink as well as vitamins and supporting equipment while in prison, it has spent a lot of budgets with the fact that the case was forced like this. As a result, the state can spend to provide for the needs of Okta and Sukma while imprisoned around Rp. 30,000,000 (Thirty Million Rupiah) in a period of 4 months of detention.

Abstract

Indonesia has again received an unfavorable nickname from the international community. The number of adolescent smokers in Indonesia increases every year. They are generally produced by smokers’ parents/environment. This time, it is nicknamed the country of baby smokers because the highest number of smokers in Indonesia are teenagers and children. The National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA) Aris Merdeka Sirait when speaking in Advocacy for the Implementation of KTR Regional Regulations for journalists at the Santi Denpasar Hotel, Bali. According to Aris, up to now 69% of teenagers in Indonesia are active smokers. They live in a smoking environment and family. Besides that, There are 89 million children exposed to cigarette smoke and their health is at risk. Of these, there are 230 thousand children under the age of 10 who are already active smokers. Law Number 39 of 2007 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 1995 concerning Excise, defines Excise as a state levy imposed on certain goods which have the properties or characteristics specified in this law. Qualitative research methods make more effort in investigating the problem. These existing problems will be the basis used by researchers in retrieving data. Then the researcher determines the variables and measures them with numbers for analysis according to the procedures of the applicable statistics. Based on the results of this study, with the enactment of this Ministerial Regulation, the Head of Office re-stipulates excise rates with the following conditions: the re-set excise rates cannot be lower than the applicable excise rates, and/or n. The Retail Selling Price may not be lower than the applicable Retail Selling Price Limit per Stick or Gram, as stated in the Appendix which is an integral part of this Ministerial Regulation

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) which is proxied by managerial ownership, institutional ownership, public ownership, and the board of commissioners on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which is proxied by the ESG Disclosure score, and also examines the role of the moderating variable Financial Performance which is proxied by Tobin’s Q on the relationship between GCG and CSR towards companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The sample data obtained is from 87 companies during the 2017-2021 period. The method used in model A is multiple linear regression, while the effect of the moderating variable in model B is tested by using multiple regression analysis. The results of model A show that managerial ownership and institutional ownership have a significant negative impact on CSR, but public ownership does not have any effect. Meanwhile, the board of commissioners has a significant positive impact on CSR. The analysis results of model B show that financial performance can moderate the negative relationship between GCG and CSR. These results can broaden knowledge and provide practical benefits for companies and the academic community in management, financial accounting, and marketing, especially regarding GCG and CSR activities.

Abstract

The research aims to examine the effect of Investment Knowledge, Minimum Capital, and Motivation on Student Interest in Investing in the Islamic Capital Market. This research method is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, this research approach produces a population of 429 with a sample of 71. The data collection method used in this research is a questionnaire. The result of calculating the t-value is 2.890. We can conclude that (X1) has a significant impact on (Y) because this value is greater than ttable (1.465) and the sig value is less than 0.05. So, it is concluded that (X1) has a significant effect on (Y). At the sig value or t value Variable (X2) has a t value = 2.532. This value is greater than the t table (1.465) with a sig value (0.00001 <0.05). (X2) has an effect on (Y). The variable (X3) has a calculated t value = 2,935. This value is greater than the t table (1.465) with a sig value (0.005 <0.05). (Y) is influenced by the variable (X3). Based on the calculation results above, it can be seen that F count (25.308) which is greater than F table (3.08), and Sig F (0.000b) which is less than 5% (0.050) indicates that together the variable (X) has a simultaneous effect on (Y).

Abstract

This research aims to develop a conceptual model based on Social Media Adoption. Social Media Adoption itself is a variable that is expected to improve MSME business performance. In total, there were 210 MSME owners and MSME managers involved in this research activity. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method was adopted as software to assist in testing models and hypotheses. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analyzed 150 questionnaires. The findings in this research are that Social Media Adoption has no effect on Business Performance in MSMEs. Commercial Value Accentuation and Innovation Capability are known to show that both can improve business performance, so this can be used as input for MSME managers to be able to benefit from the sales activities they carry out. The rejection of the hypothesis provides room for further research. The Bengkulu MSME sample framework limits the generalization power of the Commercial Value Accentuation concept, which then requires replication to achieve even broader generalizations. The theoretical implications of this research relate to strengthening the application of SDL theory in marketing studies. There are practical managerial implications for MSME entrepreneurs who want to improve Business Performance. This study explains the role of Commercial Value Accentuation and Innovation Capability on Business Performance. The conceptual model of this research was tested on a sample of MSMEs in the food and beverage sector from Bengkulu Province.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of knowledge on saving preferences in Sharia banks and to determine the role of religiosity in moderating knowledge of saving preferences in Sharia banks. The approach is quantitative research. The research subjects were Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) Cadres in Percut Sei Tuan District. The results of this study indicate that the results of multiple linear regression analysis with the use of Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) partially indicate that the knowledge variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on saving preferences in Sharia bank, while the moderating variable, namely religiosity (Z) has an effect positive and significant towards saving preferences (Y) in Sharia banks. The variable multiplication between the independent variable and the moderating variable is PR (Knowledge x Religiosity) where the religiosity variable moderates by weakening the relationship between the knowledge variable and the preference variable for saving in Sharia banks. Religion is not able to moderate the effect of knowledge on saving preferences in Sharia banks. The results of multiple linear regression analysis with the simultaneous use of Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) show that simultaneously influencing the dependent variable, namely the preference for saving in Sharia bank with a significant level of 0.000 <0.05 and calculated F value =1748,102 and F table =3,939, so 1748.102>3,939. Factor variations based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis with the use of Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) that each variable is able to explain, variation of Preferences for Saving in Sharia bank of 98.1%. Meanwhile, another 1.9% is influenced by other variables outside the model.
