Abstract

Human resources are the main asset for an organization who are active planners and actors in various activities within the organization. The success of an organization is supported by good employee performance. To get employees with quality performance, effective recruitment is needed. The formulation in this study is how the recruitment process and selection process are carried out by Elyogroup. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with observation data collection methods and unstructured interviews. Data collection used a purposive sampling method by selecting business owners as informants to obtain information used to complete this research. The results of this study are that Elyogroup recruitment is still placing job vacancy advertisements using Instagram social media. The selection process was carried out using file selection and structured and unstructured interviews.

Abstract

Understanding financial literacy is the ability to understand knowledge and skills in managing financial resources in order to improve welfare. Financial technology is a combination of financial service systems and technology that provides easy access to financial transaction processing for the public when using these financial applications. This study aims to examine the effect of understanding financial literacy and the ease of digital payments on the sustainability of MSMEs in the digitalization era for MSMEs in the Medan Tembung Sub-District. The research method is a quantitative descriptive study with a population of 157 MSMEs in the Medan Tembung Sub-District. Source of data obtained from primary and secondary sources. Data collection techniques through distributing questionnaires using a simple random sampling technique. The results of the T-test research show that understanding financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on the sustainability of MSMEs in the digitalization era, digital payments have a positive and significant effect on the sustainability of MSMEs. This shows that the performance of MSMEs will increase significantly if MSME actors continue to increase their understanding of financial literacy and ease of digital payments in order to realize business continuity, the results of the f-test show that understanding financial literacy and the ease of digital payments simultaneously have a significant effect. It means that simultaneously there is an influence of understanding financial literacy and ease of digital payments on the sustainability of MSMEs in the digitalization era.

Abstract

The purpose of the research that has been carried out is to analyze the application of the principles of transparency and accountability in the preparation of BOS funds in SD Negeri 117865 Afd. IV Perk. Berangir, whose analysis supports the use of media in conveying information to the public. This study uses a qualitative approach method with a descriptive analysis method which is in accordance with the facts through a special study research design. In collecting the required data using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, documentation, data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. Testing the validity of the data uses the credibility of transparency and accountability which involves all components including the school committee as the student’s guardian representative. In all management of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds and responsibility for all activities that use BOS funds which are a source of education unit finance to the community by using the media in informing educational unit financial data both directly and indirectly, as well as increasing community participation which is the impact of implementing transparency and accountability.

Abstract

The Ministry of Religion is responsible for administering various public services related to religion, such as organizing worship, religious education, community development, and hajj management. The quality of employee performance directly affects the effectiveness and quality of these services provided to the public. Therefore, it is crucial to improve the performance of employees within the Ministry of Religion of Central Java Province as it directly contributes to enhancing the quality of public services in the religious sector. Employee performance is influenced by factors such as Islamic leadership, Islamic work ethics, and emotional intelligence. This study aims to examine the impact of Islamic leadership style and Islamic work ethics on employee performance, with emotional intelligence acting as an intermediate variable. The research adopts a quantitative approach and gathers primary data from employees who identify as Muslims in the Ministry of Religion of Central Java Province, totaling 118 individuals. Data collection involves using a Likert scale questionnaire ranging from 1 to 7. Hypothesis testing utilizes an alternative Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method called Partial Least Squares (PLS). The study's findings reveal that there is no direct effect of Islamic leadership style and Islamic work ethics on employee performance. However, Islamic leadership style and Islamic work ethics have a positive and significant influence on employees' emotional intelligence. Additionally, emotional intelligence has a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Emotional intelligence is validated as an intervening variable that mediates the influence of Islamic leadership and Islamic work ethics on employee performance

Abstract

Purchase intention is a response or an effective process when liking a product. Purchase intention is influenced by advertising, brand image, trust, and product prices. This study aims to determine the effect of advertising, brand image, trust, and price on buying intention of ready-to-drink Nescafe coffee in Perlabian Village. The method used in this study is a quantitative method by collecting data using a questionnaire instrument. The population in this study is the Perlabian Village community. Determination of the sample using a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique in order to obtain a sample of 100 respondents. Data was obtained from the results of a questionnaire using the Google form. Data were analyzed using instrument testing techniques (validity and reliability tests), linear regression tests, classical assumption tests (normality and heteroscedasticity), and hypothesis testing (coefficient of determination) using SPSS. The results showed that the simultaneous variables of advertising, brand image, brand trust, and product prices have a significant effect on purchase intention. Meanwhile, partially, only advertising, brand trust, and product prices have a significant effect on the intention to buy Nescafe ready-to-drink coffee in Perlabian Village, while the brand image variable has no effect. Companies need to improve the brand image owned by ready-to-drink Nescafe products, especially for the people of Perlabian Village so that people make ready-to-drink Nescafe products their first choice.

Abstract

The acceleration of development in the outer ring area of ​​Medan is carried out by the Medan City Government in order to distribute development throughout the Medan area, one of which is the Medan Marelan District. In its Development Plan, the City of Medan carries out an Accelerated Development Program which does not only focus on development in the urban center area but also accelerates development in the outer ring area/outer part of Medan. This is done for the even distribution of Medan City Development, both in the Social, Economic, Political, and Cultural fields. This research method is a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The location of this research is Medan Marelan District, Medan. The informants in this study consisted of key informants, namely the Head of Medan Marelan District. The main informants, namely staff/apparatus in the Medan Marelan sub-district office, and additional informants, namely community leaders. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observations, literature studies, and documentation studies. The result of the research is that the condition or existence of existing infrastructure development in Medan Marelan District, Medan City is implemented quite effectively and is able to add and improve several facilities and infrastructure, not only road infrastructure, health infrastructure, educational infrastructure, but also add economic infrastructure. Although the infrastructure development carried out in the Medan Marelan Subdistrict area has not been optimal, the actions taken by the Medan Marelan Subdistrict Government have brought about better changes and made the atmosphere and community environment safer and more comfortable. And factors that support infrastructure development in Medan Marelan District include the support of all residents for government policies and a safe and harmonious environment in the community.

Abstract

SMP Muhammadiyah 16 Lubuk Pakam is a private school that facilitates underprivileged children and also provides assistance in the form of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds from the government. The purpose of this study was to analyze accountability and transparency in the management of school operational assistance funds for the progress of SMP Muhammadiyah 16 Lubuk Pakam. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods and data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. BOS Funding is based on the total number of students totaling 135 students. The results of the study show that the application of the principle of transparency at SMP Muhammadiyah 16 Lubuk Pakam is less transparent as seen from the lack of openness in planning the RKAS, the use of BOS funds, and the publication of reports on the use of BOS funds which are reported annually to parents and teachers because there is data that is private. The application of the principles of accountability and transparency at SMP Muhammadiyah 16 Lubuk Pakam can be seen in the form of accountability to all parties involved. Starting from the planning of BOS funds, the use of BOS funds that are in accordance with those determined by the central government, the accountability of BOS funds that are reported to internal and external parties, and the archiving of BOS funds documents that are archived by the BOS treasurer.

Abstract

The motivation for the research is due to Bank A prepared for a Spin-Off Sharia Business Unit to comply with the provisions of Law No 21 of 2008 relating to Islamic banking, there are several cases regarding corporate governance in Sharia banking, so Bank A has an obligation to make sure current practice of corporate governance is adequate enough to be benchmarked by Sharia Business Unit. The goal of the research is to evaluate the practice of corporate governance in PT Bank A in relation to the Spin-Off preparation Sharia Business Unit to comply with the provisions of Law No. 21 of 2008 relating to Islamic Banking. The evaluation has become important because Bank A has responsibilities to guide the corporate governance design of the Sharia Business Unit to be a separate entity using the current corporate governance practice of Bank A as a benchmark. Document analysis and a semi-structured face-to-face procedure interview were employed to achieve the purposes of the research. Data were taken from the Head of Corporate Secretary, Financial Controller, Sharia Planning and Strategic Head, and internal documents of PT Bank A. There are several aspects of Bank A to improve in order to have a better corporate governance foundation to guide the preparation process for establishing (spin-off) Sharia Business Units such as strengthening of systems, infrastructure, and public participation processes. This study adds to the knowledge body on the evaluation of corporate governance for conventional banking in order to spin off Sharia business units due to the obligation stated in the provisions of Law No. 21 of 2008 relating to Islamic Banking. The study also argued not only the regulation can be used as an indicator for evaluation but using the “beyond regulation” indicator will be beneficial to improve current corporate governance practices to become efficient and effective. This research is going to evaluate the corporate governance practice of PT Bank A using the General Guidelines for Governance of Indonesian Sharia Entities (Pedoman Umum Governansi Entitas Syariah Indonesia) (PUG-ESI) which the guideline is new in Indonesia. This research is going to give an overview of the current implementation of corporate governance and the steps that need to be taken to prepare for a spin-off in 2023 in terms of complying with corporate governance guidance. This research can be used as a good benchmark for the conventional banking industry which spin-offs Sharia Business Units in Indonesia.

Abstract

Offices providing legal services, and non-court mediation institutions, legal drafting of legislation are the duties of the Notary and PPAT offices, one of the best services available in Rantauprapat is the Notary Office Abi Jumroh Harahap. Carrying a good name is one of the employees’ burdens so that the office’s image remains good in the eyes of the public. Demonstrating good service and getting good results ultimately also becomes a pressure for notaries and employees. The research samples taken were employees of the Notary Office Abi Jumroh Harahap Rantauprapat, namely 50 samples. Structural Equation Model (SEM) program analysis method via Smart PLS software. The research results show that organizational communication and satisfaction have a positive and significant impact on performance but work stress does not have a significant effect on organizational performance and communication, work stress and satisfaction together have an effect on performance.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to dig deeper into differentiation strategies through appropriate indicators and what differentiation is offered by coffee shop business actors. Based on data from the Labuhanbatu Regency Cooperatives and SMEs Service in 2021, currently, the number of MSMEs operating in coffee shops is still surviving and is recorded as being actively assisted by 156 MSMEs. So, the authors decided to use the entire population as a sample of 156 respondents. Determination of sampling applies purposive sampling, one of the non-random sampling techniques. Data analysis uses validity and reliability tests as well as problem-solving using the IBM SPSS AMOS 22 path analysis approach. Based on the results of the respondent profile description, it is known that the majority are male, aged 31-40 years. The majority of businesses last 7-10 years with owner status. All hypotheses in this research can be accepted so that the variables of product differentiation, price differentiation, and service differentiation have a significant effect on marketing innovation.
