Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation and work environment on the performance of Generation Z employees in the South Jakarta area. The problem identified in this study is the low performance of employees in several work sectors, which is suspected to be influenced by work motivation and work environment conditions. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative design to measure the relationship between work motivation and work environment variables as independent variables, and employee performance as the dependent variable. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents randomly selected using a random sampling method based on the Slovin formula. The results of the study indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant influence on employee performance, with a calculated t value of 2.354 (p = 0.021). In addition, the work environment is also proven to have a significant positive influence on employee performance, as evidenced by a calculated t value of 3.696 (p = 0.000). The conclusion of this study confirms that motivation and work environment play an important role in improving the performance of Generation Z employees. The practical implication of this study is the importance of managing motivation and optimizing the work environment to create a conducive work atmosphere that encourages productivity and the achievement of organizational goals.

Abstract

Digital transformation has driven economic modernization, requiring improvements in human well-being while ensuring energy consumption aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals. This study investigates the impact of digitalization, education, per capita income, renewable energy consumption, and economic growth on the Human Development Index (HDI) in seven ASEAN countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Laos during 2015–2022, using panel data analysis and a fixed effects model. Data were obtained from the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme. The findings reveal that individual internet usage, education expenditure, and economic growth significantly enhance HDI, highlighting the role of digital connectivity in improving quality of life. However, the study is subject to certain limitations, including the relatively short time frame, potential data availability issues, and the assumption of homogeneity across countries within the fixed effects model. Acknowledging these constraints is essential for contextualizing the findings and guiding future research toward more comprehensive, long-term, and heterogeneous analyses.

This study aims to examine the impact of digital marketing, halal labeling, product quality, and price on customer satisfaction in the halal industry sector, especially on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and TikTok Shop. By utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) approach, this study explores the relationship between attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on consumer satisfaction in the context of halal products. The research uses quantitative methods with a causal research design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a 4-point Likert scale, involving 131 respondents selected via a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The research findings indicate that price is the most influential factor on customer satisfaction, followed by product quality and digital marketing. Competitive prices and products that meet consumer expectations significantly increase satisfaction levels. In contrast, halal labeling does not have a significant direct influence on customer satisfaction, unless supported by other variables. This research contributes both in theory and practice in understanding Muslim consumer behavior in the digital era and can be a reference for industry players. designing effective and inclusive marketing strategies.

Abstract

The high activity of food trading for breaking the fast of takjil during the month of Ramadan in Jati Utomo Village, North Binjai raises the phenomenon of significant market competition, between permanent traders and seasonal traders. This competition creates risks for traders, especially in maintaining customers and income. This research formulates two main problems, namely what are the risks faced by takjil traders due to market competition, and how competition affects the economic improvement of traders. This study aims to analyze the form of market risk and its impact on the economic conditions of takjil traders during the month of Ramadan. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of five traders. The results of this study show that 60% of traders experienced an increase in income because they were able to innovate and adjust products to market tastes despite being faced with high market competition. Meanwhile, the other 40% experienced income stagnation due to lack of product innovation and lack of understanding of accurate financial records. This study concludes that the success of micro businesses in facing competition is not only influenced by marketing strategies, but also by the ability to innovate and financial literacy.

Abstract

This study compares the efficiency of the cash flow accounting method and the accrual method in recording the finances of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Mataram City. The results show that the majority of MSMEs still use the cash flow method because it is simpler, easier to implement, and does not require complex accounting expertise. Although operationally efficient, the cash flow method has limitations in presenting comprehensive financial information. In contrast, the accrual method is able to present more complete and accurate financial information because it records transactions based on rights and obligations, not just cash flow. The accrual method is considered more appropriate for MSMEs that want to develop professionally and collaborate with formal financial institutions. Therefore, the choice of financial recording method should be adjusted to the business scale, information needs, and long-term goals of each MSME.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of female labor force participation rate (FLFPR), women’s representation in parliament (WRP), gender development index (GDI), women in professional employment (WPE), and fertility rate (FTR) on economic growth across Indonesian provinces, as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 2019 to 2023. Drawing on human capital theory and gender economics, this research is grounded in the premise that gender inclusion enhances economic performance through broader talent utilization, higher productivity, and more equitable policy outcomes. The selected variables represent key dimensions through which gender equality can influence growth, labor participation, and professional employment, indicating women's direct economic contributions, political representation reflects institutional inclusivity, GDI captures structural gender disparities, and fertility rate reflects demographic and labor trade-offs. Using a panel data regression approach, the findings show that only FLFPR has a significant positive effect on GDP, highlighting the critical role of women's workforce participation in driving inclusive development. In contrast, WRP, GDI, WPE, and FTR do not exhibit statistically significant effects. These results underscore the importance of facilitating women's access to economic opportunities as a strategic pathway to enhance regional economic growth.

Abstract

In the digital era, live streaming has emerged as a widely used marketing strategy across e-commerce platforms. Social presence—defined as the perceived sense of social interaction during live streaming—is believed to significantly influence consumers’ purchase intentions. However, limited research has explored the link between live streaming, social presence, and purchase intention. This study addresses that gap by examining the impact of live streaming on purchase intention and the mediating role of social presence. A quantitative approach was employed, using a questionnaire distributed to e-commerce users who frequently watch live streaming. A purposive sampling method yielded 330 respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 3.0, including tests for convergent and discriminant validity, reliability, R², Q², and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that live streaming positively affects purchase intention, and social presence significantly mediates this relationship. These findings suggest that enhancing social presence through live streaming can effectively increase consumer purchase intention. For businesses, this highlights the importance of interactive elements such as real-time communication, authentic content, and exclusive offers. The study is limited to 330 respondents from Bandung and focuses on Generation Y and Z, which may limit the generalizability of the results. Additionally, it considers only social presence as a mediating variable, excluding other possible mediators.
