Abstract

This study examines the comparative performance of Sharia and conventional equity mutual funds in Indonesia by assessing the influence of reputation, stock selection ability, and market timing on risk-adjusted returns as measured by the Sharpe Ratio. The research is motivated by the increasing demand for Sharia-compliant investment alternatives and the growing competition with conventional financial products. The core problem addressed in this study is whether managerial strategies and reputation significantly differentiate the performance of Sharia-based funds from their conventional counterparts. The primary objectives are to analyze the effects of fund reputation, stock selection skills, and market timing on mutual fund performance and to identify whether significant differences exist between Sharia and conventional funds. This quantitative study employs a comparative and causal associative approach using secondary data from 18 mutual funds (9 Sharia and 9 conventional) over the period 2020–2024. The Sharpe Ratio was calculated to measure performance, while stock selection and market timing abilities were evaluated using the Treynor-Mazuy model. The findings reveal that conventional mutual funds outperform Sharia mutual funds in terms of risk-adjusted return. However, no statistically significant differences were observed in stock selection and market timing abilities between the two fund types. Moreover, fund reputation did not significantly influence performance in either category. These results suggest that external market factors and strategic alignment may have a greater impact than past ratings or technical timing. The study contributes to both academic and practical investment discourse, offering insights for investors and fund managers seeking to optimize performance within ethical and financial constraints.

Abstract

The total area of Ngawi Regency is 1,298.58 km2, of which 506.6 km2, or about 40% is made up of rice fields. According to the data, farmers employ the bulk of Ngawi's people. Mango fruit is the second most abundant good after rice, as most Ngawi people grow mango trees in front or behind their homes. When harvest season rolls around, farmers have trouble finding buyers who will purchase their crops in an honest and profitable manner. This is because buyers, also known as penebas, use the Tebas system to complete the purchase process for these two commodities, which means that the system cannot fulfill the wishes of both parties involved in the transaction if It also goes by the name "profit" in economics. According to the Tijaroh principle, the goal of a trading contract is to find and make money when all requirements have been met. Ijarah, Salam, Murabahah, Istishna', Musyarakah, Muzara'ah, and Mukharabah, musaqah are among the contracts that fall under this category. Or, according to a different editorial, any kind of arrangement involving for-profit transactions is referred to as a tijarah contract (compensational contract). The goal of this research is to stop Maysir and Gharar practices in the trade of rice and mango commodities in the Ngawi district and to make rice trading activities ethical and advantageous for all stakeholder’s issue. The present study employed the Inductive analysis method in a Normative approach to examine the data. This entails evaluating the research.

Abstract

Every activity in the steel fabrication workshop has potential risks that can cause losses. During 19 months, PT SW recorded 48 workplace accidents. This study aims to identify, evaluate, and analyze occupational safety and health risks, as well as determine alternative solutions to mitigate these risks. Based on the identification results, 88 risks were identified in the steel fabrication workshop. The FMECA method found five main risks: exposure to metal particles, exposure as fast cutting, exposure to sparks, exposure to cutting rays, and noise exposure. Conducted risk cause analysis through fishbone diagrams, resulting in several alternative solutions. The solutions were then prioritized using the fuzzy-TOPSIS method to determine the most effective solution.

The research methodology used is qualitative with a case study approach. The results of this research are that the catabolism process of mosque economic spaces experiences 5 phases. Starting from phase 1 to 4 then the fifth phase is that the social fund institution space creates another new space after the cooperative, namely lazis so that it becomes 1) mosque room, 2) REMAS room, 4) mosque cooperation, 5) Lazis. The catabolism process of economic spaces in mosques gives rise to empowerment which can be classified in the social and economic fields. Of course, there are also supporters and obstacles to this process, including human resources. Keywords: Catabolism, Mosque Economy, Community Empowerment

Abstract

The advancement of technology has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, especially in terms of people’s dependence on digital services. This trend has driven e-commerce growth, especially in the food and beverage sector, including Starbucks Indonesia which offers a mobile application for enhanced customer experiences. Despites its popularity, the application has received a low rating of 2,4/5 on Google Play Store. This study aims to evaluate the app’s service quality using E-ServQual method, which assesses seven dimensions: efficiency, reliability, fulfillment, privacy, responsiveness, compensation, and contact. Additionally, Importance Performance Analysis is applied to identify critical performance factors requiring improvement. Data is collected through online surveys targeting users who have transacted via the app at least once. The result indicated that, 10 out of 19 service quality attributes exhibited negative gap values, indicating that user perceptions fell short of expectations in key areas such as responsiveness and privacy. These attributes were concentrated in Quadrant I of the IPA diagram. The study calculated an overall service quality level of 88% which, while relatively high, remains below the ideal 100% benchmark. This suggests notable gaps in meeting user needs, particularly when compared to industry standards for similar apps. Highlighting the need to prioritize service quality improvements across these 10 attributes to enhance the App’s service quality and meet user expectations. The study provides actionable recommendations for Starbucks Indonesia to prioritize service quality enhancements based on user feedback and performance analysis.
