Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology requires mathematics teachers to design learning experiences that are not only technology-integrated but also meaningful and child-friendly. However, previous studies have primarily examined the impact of teacher creativity on student learning outcomes, with limited attention to how teacher creativity is implemented and developed throughout classroom practice. This study aims to explore the implementation of teachers' creativity in designing Child-Friendly Digital Mathematics Assignments and to develop a Teacher Creativity Implementation Model (TCIM). The study employed an Embedded Mixed Methods design, where qualitative data served as the primary source and quantitative data supported the findings. Participants included junior high school mathematics teachers and students involved in digital mathematics learning. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, document analysis, digital assignment artifacts, student engagement questionnaires, and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) tests. Qualitative data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model, while quantitative data were analyzed descriptively. The findings revealed that teachers' creativity develops through a continuous cycle consisting of Need Analysis, Creative Design, Child-Friendly Digital Mathematics Assignments, Classroom Implementation, Student Response, Reflection, Revision, and Enhanced Creativity. The implementation of TCIM fostered more interactive, contextual, and student-centered mathematics learning while enhancing student engagement and supporting higher-order thinking skills. This study contributes a Teacher Creativity Implementation Model (TCIM) that serves as both a conceptual framework and a practical guideline for designing, implementing, and continuously improving child-friendly digital mathematics assignments.

Abstract

The issue of waste tires demands green entrepreneurial solutions to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 12 targets. However, MSMEs recycling tires in Surengrono face serious receivables management obstacles due to manual recording systems that have not implemented formal business mathematical concepts. This research aims to develop an Android-based "Tire-Math" application to integrate business mathematics into MSME receivables management. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model, this research is limited to the Define and Design stages. The data collection technique is carried out through in-depth interviews with business owners and analysis of operational tasks. The data is analyzed descriptively to formulate features that are needed by the user. The research instruments include an interview guide and a wireframe validation sheet. The results of the design stage resulted in an initial prototype of an application that automates the calculation of receivables balances and provides a digital repayment reminder feature. The conclusion of the study shows that the integration of business mathematics competencies through digital platforms is a crucial innovation in strengthening the managerial capabilities and sustainability of MSME recycling tire entrepreneurship. Through this application, business actors can monitor cash flows more accurately, which has a direct impact on the economic stability of environmentally-based businesses.

Abstract

Flat-sided three-dimensional shapes are part of geometry that are closely connected to everyday life. However, in learning activities, many students still experience difficulties in understanding this material. On the other hand, cultural issues in Indonesia, particularly in Papua, are increasingly being eroded by the advancement of the times, gradually diminishing the nation’s cultural identity. Therefore, an appropriate learning approach is needed as a solution to these problems. This study aims to describe the results of implementing a mathematics e-module on flat-sided three-dimensional shapes based on Papuan traditional houses as a form of Papuan culture–based learning for junior high school students. The learning approach used is the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach assisted by an e-module, with the goal of optimizing students’ understanding of flat-sided three-dimensional shapes. This research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The population consisted of eighth-grade students of SMPN 10 Manokwari, and the sample was selected using a one-group experimental technique. The instrument used was a mathematical ability test. The results of the study show that: (1) the implementation of the CRT approach assisted by the e-module effectively increased students’ understanding of flat-sided three-dimensional shapes, as indicated by an N-Gain index of 0.46, or 46%, which falls into the medium category; and (2) there is a difference in students’ understanding before and after being taught using the CRT approach assisted by the e-module, with a gain mean of 33.78.

Abstract

Initial observations indicate that the cognitive ability of mathematics in the material of number patterns is relatively low and students' collaboration skills have not been seen. So the purpose of this study is to produce a valid, practical, and effective project-based dakon-assisted teaching module; in order to determine students' cognitive abilities and collaboration skills. In its learning, this study raises the culture of traditional Javanese games, namely Dakon. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. Data were obtained using pre-test-post-test instruments, LKPD, collaboration skills assessment questionnaires, and practicality questionnaires for teaching modules. The results of the study showed that: (1) The validity results of the teaching module reached 3.68 (very valid); pre-test-post-test validation of 3.73 (very valid); LKPD validation of 3.55 (valid); questionnaire validation of 3.70 (very valid) so that the teaching module and its instruments are said to be suitable for use in learning; (2) The results of the practicality questionnaire for the teaching module reached 87% score, so the application of the teaching module is said to be very practical. In addition, the teaching module has been tested on small groups and large groups of 24 students; (3) the N-Gain results obtained were 82%, which means that the application of the teaching module in the implementation of large group tests is said to be effective in improving students' cognitive abilities; (4) Furthermore, the results of collaboration skills obtained from the questionnaire data obtained a figure of 3.70 (very effective) which means that the teaching module is said to be very effective in improving students' collaboration skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on Adobe Animate integrated with a scientific approach, specifically focusing on flat-sided solid shapes such as cubes and cuboids. Employing the ADDIE development model—comprising Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—the research involved 32 eighth-grade students at MTsN 6 Pasuruan. The results indicate that the developed media fulfills high standards of quality, categorized as "Very Valid" with scores of 3.36 from media experts and 3.48 from material experts; "Very Practical" with a student response rate of 92.1%; and "Very Effective" with a classical completion rate of 87.5% (28 out of 32 students). Ultimately, the study concludes that integrating a scientific approach into digital media effectively facilitates students' constructivism, thereby enhancing their understanding of abstract geometric concepts.

Abstract

Mathematical connection skills are important in supporting students in solving contextual mathematical problems. However, several studies show that connection skills are still an obstacle for junior high school students. This study aims to analyze junior high school students' mathematical connection skills in solving contextual problems through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This study reviewed research articles published between 2019 and 2025 and obtained through the Google Scholar database. Based on the inclusion criteria, eight articles were selected for systematic analysis. The results showed that junior high school students' mathematical connection skills were in the low to moderate category, particularly in relating mathematical concepts to everyday contexts and connecting between mathematical topics. Students with high mathematical abilities were able to build conceptual and procedural connections, but still experienced difficulties in the representational aspect. Meanwhile, students with moderate and low mathematical abilities experience more complex difficulties in connecting contextual information with mathematical concepts. These findings indicate the importance of applying contextual learning that emphasizes the interrelationship between concepts and the use of various representations to improve the quality of junior high school students' mathematical problem solving.
