Abstract

This research was conducted to increase student creativity in utilizing wood waste at SMK Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek, Agam Regency. The main problem in this research is that students tend to be more passive and less creative, so they are constrained in creating ideas to work on using wood waste. This study uses qualitative methods with active participation observation data collection techniques, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out in a descriptive-interpretative manner. Improving student creativity in utilizing sawdust waste is carried out in several important stages, including; preparing materials and equipment, making designs/sketches, learning processes and being creative in making sawdust products decorative, functional and aesthetic. The results of the study show that measuring students' abilities can be seen based on their ability to design works, persistence in working on works and students' creativity in making works. Efforts made to increase student creativity are carried out by using varied learning media and displaying visual forms in the form of videos of the process of making wood products and photos of examples of wood waste products, training students' abilities in creating new ideas in choosing product forms.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan tentang karya ornamen Melayu siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Medan yang ditinjau dari keragaman warna, bentuk modifikasi motif, repetisi, dan kerumitan motif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MAN 1 Medan dan objek penelitian adalah karya gambar ornamen Melayu berjumlah 20 karya siswa dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa nilai rata-rata karya secara keseluruhan dikategorikan baik dengan rata-rata 83, 08 (baik). Karya ornamen Melayu dinilai berdasarkan aspek ketepatan warna, modifikasi motif, repetisi, dan kerumitan motif. Aspek penilaian dengan nilai tertinggi adalah modifikasi motif dengan nilai rata-rata 83,83, yaitu sudah mampu memberikan ide yang lebih menarik lagi dalam memodifikasi motif. Aspek ketepatan warna dengan nilai rata-rata 82, 77, yaitu warna yang digunakan sudah sesuai dengan warna yang terdapat pada ornamen Melayu dan sudah mampu memvariasikan keragaman warna. Aspek kerumitan motif dengan nilai rata-rata 82, 04, yaitu variasi ukuran motif yang sudah tertata dan menyatu, dan aspek repetisi dengan nilai rata-rata 83,5 yaitu pengulangan susunan bentuk sudah kontinue. Apabila di rincikan secara keseluruhan berdasarkan capaian siswa, maka karya dengan kategori sangat baik berjumlah 1 karya ornamen sebesar 10%. Kategori baik berjumlah 19 karya ornamen sebesar 90% dan karya dengan kategori cukup tidak ada

Abstract

Gayo Kerawang Souvenir Crafts in Bebesen Village, Bebesen District is a cultural heritage that is still operating today which aims to maintain the culture of the typical Gayo community. Kerawang Gayo departs from symbols and as decorations that contain meaning in them. Along with the needs of human life, this Gayo Kerawang craft is growing in society according to the times. This study aims to find out how the form of Kerawang Gayo souvenirs in Bebesen Village, Bebesen District, Central Aceh Regency. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Techniques in data collection are observation, interviews and documentation. Researchers use the Dhasono Sony Kartika shape theory as a study in examining the shape of the souvenir. The products produced by souvenir craftsmen in Bebesen Village are bags, wallets, shirts, skirts, backpacks, table cloths, cushion covers, prayer rugs and others. These products are created according to market needs and tailored to the needs of consumer orders.

Abstract

Oen Ranup is the name for betel leaf by the people of Aceh. It consists of two syllables, namely Oen which means leaf and Ranup which means betel. The artist’s interest in taking Oen Ranup as the idea of creating textile art is that it is because unique in terms of a shape that resembles a heart shape and a green color that gives a fresh impression. This Oen Ranup has been used since the royal era until now, it is still brought into the series of Acehnese customs, making the craftsmen interested in expressing Oen Ranup into the interior of the living room. The method used in this work goes through several stages,the first stage is the pre-design stage, namely the imagination development step. The second stage of design is to realize visual ideas by making alternative designs, the third stage is embodiment, namely alternative sketches that have been selected will be realized into a work. Furthermore,the presentation is an exhibition with the aim of establishing communication between artists and art connoisseurs through exhibitions. The concept used in making this work using the concept of symbolic expression is a modern art form by utilizing traditional idioms as a basic part of its composition. In the creation of this final project, the artist applies Oen Ranup to the interior of the living room with embroidery techniques. The works are Sofa Pillows, wall clocks.
