Abstract

Equality of women and men has been a hot topic for 20 years. In general, gender is the visible difference between men and women when viewed from values and behavior. So far, gender issues have been dominated by women's perspectives, while men's perspectives have not been discussed much. The dominance of women's perspectives often results in a dead end in finding the desired solution, because it ultimately leads to problems originating from men. Islam does not differentiate between the rights and obligations that exist in human anatomy, these rights and obligations are always the same in the eyes of Islam for both different anatomies. Islam puts forward the concept of justice for anyone and everyone regardless of their gender.

Abstract

Teachers are role models for their students, exemplary behavior at school is total exemplification, not only with regard to normative matters but as a whole. Likewise with reading, the example set by teachers at school will continue to stick with children until they return home, until they grow up. Because children can learn from observations and experiences they go through. As one of the assumptions of social cognitive theory is, "people can learn by observing other people". This theory has developed through research by Albert Bandura, Dale Schunk, Barry Zimmerman, quoted by Jeanne Ellis Ormrod (Ormrod, 2009). Therefore, if the teacher's reading interest is high, the teacher will influence students' reading interest. Teachers who are very interested in reading will try to foster a love of reading in their students.

The rise of student behavior deviations can endanger the survival of the nation in the future, because students are expected to be the nation's leaders. The fragility of youth undermined by addictive substances destroying nerves makes them unable to think and work. As a result, our young generation will only become an unproductive society. Until now the handling of drug abuse cases among students still becomes pros and cons. Students who are exposed to drug cases are not all directly rehabilitated but there are also those who are first processed legally and must be imprisoned. This study aims at answering the questions why the handling of drug abuse cases among students still vary in application which led to pros and cons in society and how to save our young generation from drug abuse so that they can return to the society and contribute to their nation. This study employed a phenomenological approach of a qualitative research design. In this study a semi-structured interview is used to understand how participants experienced the phenomenon. Data were gathered from a total of 15 participants consist of college students, leaders of universities, an official of BNN (National Board of Narcotics and Addictive Substances), Head of prison, and a law practitioner to get the perspectives on how rehabilitation and law enforcement should be implemented. Abstract

This research examines the intricate issues of land grabbing and agrarian conflicts in Indonesia, spotlighting the socio-economic and legal challenges faced by local communities, smallholders, and indigenous peoples. Utilizing a normative legal methodology, the study delves into statutory, conceptual, and futuristic approaches to analyze the phenomenon of land grabbing, which has been exacerbated by global food demand, economic interests, and the expansion of capitalism. The enactment of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the new Criminal Code (KUHP) in Indonesia marks a pivotal development in addressing crimes against land, offering robust legal protection against land dispossession, and ensuring equitable land transactions. The research underscores the dire need for agrarian reform, rooted in the principles of the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA) and aimed at rectifying the unequal distribution of land. It argues for a balanced approach that harmonizes the interests of society, including marginalized groups, with those of investors to foster sustainable development and social justice. The study highlights the legislative efforts to tackle land-related crimes through the new KUHP, emphasizing the significance of transparency, fairness, and the protection of legal rights in land management. Through a comprehensive analysis, this research contributes to the discourse on sustainable national development, advocating for policy reforms and legal measures to combat land grabbing. It calls for a more democratic policy-making process, involving civil society's active participation, to ensure equitable land distribution and uphold the welfare of smallholders and indigenous peoples.

Abstract

Sustainable development and climate change are two interconnected global issues that demand urgent attention and action. Governments play a central role in navigating these challenges by formulating and implementing effective policies and organizing adequate international frameworks. These policies include initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote the use of renewable energy, and improve the efficient use of natural resources. Through the imposition of policy instruments such as carbon taxes, green energy subsidies, and energy efficiency provisions, the government provides incentives for people and industries to transition to environmentally friendly operating models. In addition, government efforts also include building community resilience to the negative impacts of climate change with adaptation, mitigation, and disaster risk reduction-based approaches. Public education and environmental awareness are recognized as essential factors that encourage citizen participation and responsibility for the environment. In the international arena, cooperation between countries through global conferences and agreements such as the Paris Agreement is an important step to equalize perceptions and share global responsibilities.
