Abstract

Mass media plays a significant role in shaping public perceptions of issues such as sexual and domestic violence. This study focuses on how text structure, word choice, and gender representation in news articles influence public understanding of violence. The aim of this research is to analyze how news about sexual violence and domestic violence constructs narratives and social responses through language use and text structure, and how gender representation affects public perception. The study employs critical discourse analysis based on Norman Fairclough's theory. Two news articles were selected for analysis: one about sexual violence in front of a young girl and one about domestic violence. The articles were examined for text structure, word choice, and gender representation to understand how they construct narratives. The analysis reveals that the news about sexual violence emphasizes the perpetrator's actions and the authorities' responses, using sensational language to create a negative image of the perpetrator. In contrast, the news about domestic violence focuses more on the victim's suffering and power dynamics, with detailed descriptions of physical and emotional abuse. Media shapes public perceptions of violence and gender through word choice and text structure.

Abstract

Learning videos are a medium or tool used in the educational process to convey information, concepts or learning materials to students using visual and audio elements. The aim of this design is to make teaching and learning activities enjoyable and effective. This learning video was made using Adobe After Effects to create the animation. The design of this learning video uses the ADDIE method. Then to collect data using a questionnaire with 6 question indicators, from the 6 question indicators a score of 57.5% was obtained, so it can be concluded that this learning animation video can be said to be successful and able to help in teaching and learning activities at MIM Pundungrejo. , Tawangsari, Sukoharjo. This 2D animated learning video contains roots, stems, leaves, fruit and flowers. This design aims to make students interested in studying and knowing the structure of plants and their functions in everyday life.

Abstract

The emergence of a new paradigm in the field of education and increasingly advanced technological developments, namely the emergence of an electronic learning system known as E-learning. One of the most popular E-learning media in Indonesia is the Ruangguru online learning application which can be accessed via Smartphone. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence student acceptance of the Ruangguru application using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) method. 5 (five) TAM research model constructs were used, namely Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude Toward Using Behavioral Intention of Use and Actual System Use. Data collection used was an online questionnaire from Google Form with a purposive sampling technique. Valid questionnaire data was processed using the SmartPLS 3 program with 3 (three) structural analysis models, namely Outer Model Analysis, Inner Model Analysis, and Hypothesis Testing.

Abstract

This research presents an expert system using the extreme programming method to determine the level of ability in public speaking. Public Speaking is an important speaking skill in many fields, but it is often difficult for individuals to evaluate their ability. The extreme programming method is used to provide a reliable level of workmanship in the public speaking system. The expert system will provide recommendations in the form of solutions, or strategies that can help individuals improve their public speaking skills. individuals in improving their public speaking skills. The solutions provided will be adjusted to the individual's ability level, so as to provide effective knowledge. The trust method used is the certainty factor method. The results displayed are information about level of public speaking ability, the level of confidence of an expert along with solutions that can be done next by website users.

Abstract

The #BeautyDiQuity campaign is a campaign created by a local makeup and skincare brand with the aim of empowering women to feel beautiful and charming, regardless of any conditions, by featuring models with disabilities as Luxcrime ambassadors. In addition to collaborating with models with disabilities, Luxcrime also sells bundled product packages at a special price, with ten percent of the sales from these packages being donated to the disabled community in Yogyakarta. The purpose of this research is to measure the public relations campaign #BeautyDiQuity, assess Luxcrime's brand awareness, and evaluate the extent of the impact of the public relations campaign on Luxcrime's brand awareness. The study utilizes public relations campaign theory (awareness, attitude and opinion, and behavior) and brand awareness theory (unaware of brand, brand recognition, brand recall, top of mind). The research method employed is quantitative with a survey research approach. Data collection involves administering questionnaires to 66 respondents. The results of the study indicate a moderate influence of the #BeautyDiQuity campaign on Luxcrime's brand awareness, with a value of 0.522 or 52.2%. This suggests that 52.2% of Brand Awareness is influenced by the Public Relations campaign, while the remainder is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This research focuses on the role of the producer in the "Sport Today" program broadcast by Sportstars MNC Channels. This program requires careful coordination and attention to detail at every stage of production. The aim of this research is to understand how producers participate in the pre-production, production and post-production stages to produce quality programs. This research uses Gerald Millerson's theory which focuses on the television production process as a basis for explaining how the pre-production, production and post-production stages are managed by producers. This theory emphasizes the importance of careful planning at the pre-production stage, effective implementation at the production stage, and careful editing and final finishing at the post-production stage. The research method used is a qualitative approach with case studies as the main focus. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observation and analysis of documents related to the "Sport Today" production program. The research results show that the role of the producer is very important in ensuring success at every stage of production. The suggestion from this research is that producers continue to improve their abilities in planning, managing, administering and completing production as well as following relevant technological developments.

Abstract

In this digital age, social media has become an important platform in connecting organizations with the community and encouraging active participation and helping to increase the organization’s social impact. One such organization’s is Sajiwa Foundation, a-non profit organization that focuses on educating and supporting the utilization needs of people in need. The purpose of this study is to provide insight into how non-profit organization can use social media communication strategies effectively to encourage community participation on the Sajiwa Foundation website platform Sajiwa Foundation this research aims to identify the various strategies used by Sajiwa Foundation to motivate people to actively participate in campaigns and programs offered through their website. This research used a qualitative approach by conducting a content analysis of Sajiwa Foundation’s social media accounts and involved interviews with Sajiwa Foundation team members. From analysis, the importance of an appropriate social media communication strategy in encouraging community participation in the context of non-profit organization was found to have several key elements. First, content should be veried and relevant, covering information and inspiring stories and the development of the organization. Second, attractive visuals can increase user interaction. Third, active interaction with the online community through comment, direct messages and calls to action helps build deeper relationships with the audience. This provides valuable insights for similar organizations looking to maximize their impact through leveraging social media as a powerful communication tool towards the wider community.

Abstract

TikTok is a social media platform dominated by Gen Z users. TikTok serves as an informative platform as well as a marketing and advertising medium. On TikTok, there are various contents including movie reviews. Movie review content on TikTok serves as informative content to provide information about the storyline of movies currently showing in theaters. This is often needed by individuals before watching a movie, to find out about the synopsis, characters, and ratings given. This research aims to determine the extent of the influence of Agak Laen's movie review content on TikTok on the interest in watching movies among students of SMKN 3 Depok. The research approach is quantitative with a survey method involving 94 respondents from SMKN 3 Depok based on calculations using the Slovin's formula. According to the research findings, it can be concluded that the influence of Agak Laen's movie review content on TikTok on the interest in watching movies among students of SMKN 3 Depok is 55,8%, with the remaining 44,2% influenced by other factors.

Abstract

The presidential election simulation game using the Python programming language is designed to provide players with an interactive experience in protecting society through the leadership election process. In this game, players will choose between several presidential candidates represented by a specific character. Each nominee has a different platform and vision, and players must make smart decisions to meet the needs and expectations of society. Through a game mechanism that involves policy choices, campaigns, and community responses, players will experience the impact of political decisions on community conditions in a simulated manner. The player's score or achievement will be reflected in the level of public support obtained by the selected candidate. The ultimate goal is to provide players with an understanding of the complexities and responsibilities of choosing leaders who are able to protect society well.

Abstract

The Ruang Informasi dan Dialog Bersama (RIDA) Program in Payakumbuh City is a government initiative that facilitates dialogue and information exchange between the city government and its residents. RIDA helps monitor government performance, promotes accountability, and encourages transparency. Through active dialogue, the program generates creative ideas and innovative solutions to complex issues, enabling community participation in problem-solving. RIDA also strengthens the trust relationship between the community and the government. The communication strategy of this program aims to achieve desired changes in behavior, understanding, or specific conditions. RIDA enables residents to communicate with the government through Zoom, eliminating the need to visit the government office in person, making it easier to convey complaints or suggestions directly to the mayor. This research also explores the communication strategy of the Mayor of Payakumbuh within RIDA, identifying elements such as messages, communicators, recipients, target audiences, media used, effects produced, and barriers in the RIDA program process.
