Abstract

Strengthening character education has become a key priority in Islamic education amid increasing concerns about students’ behavioral misconduct in social and digital environments. Although previous studies have established positive relationships between religiosity, faith, self-regulation, and self-control, limited attention has been given to the specific psychological processes through which belief in the Hereafter may contribute to students’ self-control. In particular, eschatological awareness has rarely been conceptualized as an integrative construct linking Islamic aqidah, religious psychology, and character education. This study aims to analyze eschatological awareness from the perspective of Islamic aqidah, examine its theoretical relevance to religious psychology and self-control, and propose a conceptual model for Islamic character education. Employing a qualitative library research design, the study draws on the Qur’an, Hadith, aqidah literature, and scholarly publications on eschatology, religious psychology, self-control, self-regulation, and Islamic character education. Data were analyzed through content analysis and conceptual analysis. The findings suggest that the internalization of belief in accountability in the Hereafter may develop into eschatological awareness, which fosters moral awareness and muraqabah as internal processes supporting self-regulation and self-control. Strengthened self-control, in turn, contributes conceptually to the development of Islamic character. The study proposes an eschatological awareness–based conceptual model that provides an integrative theoretical framework connecting Islamic aqidah, religious psychology, and Islamic character education.

Abstract

Waste management is one of the major challenges in achieving sustainable development. Ponorogo Regency has experienced increasing waste generation that has not been matched by adequate waste management services. The overloaded Mrican landfill and the national policy to eliminate open dumping systems have become important drivers for developing the Regional Solid Waste Management Master Plan (RISPS). This study aims to analyze the existing waste management system and formulate sustainable development strategies. A qualitative descriptive case study approach was applied using document analysis, field observations, and policy review. The results indicate that waste management performance is constrained by technical, institutional, financial, and community participation issues. Recommended strategies include waste reduction at the source, expansion of TPS3R facilities, development of sanitary landfill infrastructure, institutional strengthening, sustainable financing, and public awareness improvement. The proposed model is expected to support local governments in implementing sustainable waste management systems.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has accelerated the transformation of flexible work culture, making it an essential strategy for enhancing employee well-being in sustainable organizations. This study aims to analyze how flexible work culture contributes to employee well-being during the sustainable global digital era. The research employs a qualitative library research approach using content analysis to synthesize information from scholarly books, peer-reviewed journals, research reports, and other relevant academic sources. The analysis is guided by the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) Theory to examine the relationship between organizational flexibility, digital transformation, and employee well-being. The findings indicate that flexible work culture positively influences employee well-being by increasing autonomy, work-life balance, job satisfaction, engagement, and organizational commitment when supported by adequate organizational resources. However, digital transformation may also generate challenges such as technostress, digital fatigue, and blurred work-life boundaries. Therefore, organizations should integrate flexible work culture with supportive leadership, digital capability, and sustainable human resource management to achieve long-term organizational resilience and employee well-being.

Abstract

This study provides a philosophical analysis of Islamic legal principles in the era of modernity, focusing on their relevance and application in contemporary societal contexts. Employing a qualitative research methodology through a literature study and library research, the paper examines key concepts within Islamic law—such as justice, equality, freedom, and human rights—while comparing them with modern legal frameworks. The findings reveal both alignment and tension between traditional Islamic jurisprudence and modern legal systems. While there is common ground in principles such as justice and human dignity, significant differences arise in areas such as gender equality, individual freedoms, and the application of human rights. The study highlights the role of ijtihad (independent legal reasoning) as a tool for adapting Islamic legal thought to contemporary issues. However, challenges remain in reconciling Islamic law’s traditional interpretations with the demands of modern governance, especially in contexts where secular legal systems prioritize individual rights over collective moral obligations. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on the adaptability of Islamic law in modern times and suggests avenues for future research, including exploring the practical applications of ijtihad in modern legal systems and further investigating the interpretation of gender equality within Islamic jurisprudence.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between curriculum alignment and learning outcomes in primary education through a qualitative library research approach. The study aims to analyze how coherence among curriculum objectives, instructional content, teaching and learning activities, and assessment practices contributes to the improvement of student learning outcomes. The data were derived from selected scholarly literature discussing constructive alignment, outcome-based curriculum design, curriculum mapping, instructional coherence, assessment alignment, curriculum progression, and holistic learning outcomes. The analysis was conducted through systematic reading, thematic classification, conceptual extraction, and critical synthesis of the selected sources. The findings indicate that curriculum alignment functions as a systemic and pedagogical framework that connects intended learning outcomes with classroom instruction and assessment. Aligned curricula support clearer competency targets, coherent instructional sequences, valid assessment practices, and continuity of learning across grade levels and educational stages. The study also shows that learning outcomes in primary education should not be limited to academic achievement, but should include conceptual understanding, engagement, socio-emotional development, and readiness for lifelong learning. The study concludes that curriculum alignment is a fundamental prerequisite for improving the quality of primary education because it enables teachers, schools, curriculum developers, and policymakers to ensure that curriculum intentions are translated into meaningful and measurable learning experiences.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technologies has significantly increased the collection, processing, and utilization of personal data by digital platform providers, raising concerns regarding privacy protection and data security. In response, Indonesia enacted Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) as its first comprehensive legal framework for personal data protection. This study analyzes the legal protection of digital platform users’ personal data following the enactment of the PDP Law, focusing on the legal responsibilities of digital platform providers and their alignment with the accountability principles of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Using a qualitative library research approach, this study examines statutory regulations, scholarly literature, policy reports, and comparative legal sources. The findings indicate that the PDP Law strengthens personal data protection by recognizing data subject rights and establishing obligations for data controllers, including lawful processing, consent management, transparency, data security, breach notification, and accountability. The novelty of this study lies in its analysis of accountability-based obligations imposed on digital platform providers under the PDP Law and its evaluation of their alignment with GDPR accountability standards within the Indonesian context. The study finds that Indonesia has adopted several accountability-oriented principles similar to the GDPR, although challenges remain in regulatory enforcement, organizational compliance, cybersecurity governance, and cross-border data transfers. This study contributes to the literature by highlighting accountability as a key mechanism for enhancing legal compliance and strengthening personal data protection in Indonesia’s evolving digital ecosystem.

Abstract

Global educational transformation in the Society 5.0 era necessitates adaptive curriculum design. This article presents a comparative analysis of curriculum reform in Indonesia and Singapore by examining its philosophical foundations, recent policy developments in 2026, and implementation strategies. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on 30 credible sources, the study analyzes curriculum transformation through four dimensions: policy foundations, implementation realities, systemic challenges, and technology-driven solutions. The findings indicate that both countries are converging toward the development of twenty-first-century competencies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy. In Indonesia, policy initiatives focus on strengthening the Kurikulum Merdeka through updated regulatory frameworks, whereas Singapore continues to advance its SkillsFuture 2026 agenda and self-directed learning ecosystem. The analysis reveals a persistent gap between policy objectives and classroom-level implementation. Indonesia faces challenges related to infrastructure disparities, bureaucratic demands, and teacher readiness, while Singapore confronts issues associated with student well-being and digital fatigue. This study contributes to the literature by providing a comparative framework for understanding curriculum transformation in different educational contexts. Strategic solutions identified include Smart-Adaptive Learning systems, AI-Augmented Teaching, and performance-based assessment redesign. The findings offer practical insights for policymakers and educational stakeholders seeking to develop more adaptive, equitable, and human-centered curriculum reforms in the digital era.

Abstract

Aren sap (Arenga pinnata) has considerable potential as a feedstock for bioethanol production due to its high sugar content, which can be directly fermented. Its sugar concentration is influenced by photosynthetic activity; therefore, tapping time is presumed to affect the quality of the resulting bioethanol. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of tapping time (morning and afternoon) and fermentation period (2, 4, 6, and 8 days) on the quality of ethanol produced from aren sap. The research was conducted from March to April 2026 at the Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Pattimura, Ambon, using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results showed that afternoon tapping produced a higher sugar content (69.71%) than morning tapping (59.47%). In addition, an 8-day fermentation period yielded the highest ethanol quality, as indicated by its calorific value (131.81 kcal/kg), density (0.9381 g/mL), and specific gravity (0.9649 g/mL). It can be concluded that the combination of afternoon tapping and an 8-day fermentation period produced the highest-quality bioethanol. However, the resulting ethanol did not yet meet the requirements of SNI 7390:2012, indicating that further optimization of the distillation process is still necessary.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze five Qur’anic educational methodologies—al-qishah (narrative storytelling), al-amtsal (parables), al-hiwar (argumentative dialogue), targhīb wa tarhīb (motivation and warning), and mau'iẓah (heartfelt counsel)—as implemented in Pepeling Jeung Panggeuing by KH. Aceng Zakaria (Ibn Azka Press, 2021), and to compare them with the approach adopted by Jajang A. Rohmana in Mencandai Tuhan: Anekdot Hoofd Penghulu Bandung Haji Hasan Mustapa 1852–1930 (Gunung Djati Publishing, 2024). Employing a qualitative approach based on textual analysis and comparative study, this research finds that KH. Aceng integrates all five Qur’anic methodologies within a normative-contextual framework characteristic of the Persis pesantren tradition, with mau'iẓah hasanah serving as the core of his da‘wah, supported by anecdotal al-qishah, Sundanese-rooted al-amtsal, manthiq-based al-hiwar, and targhīb wa tarhīb functioning as an affective motivational force. In contrast, through his historical reconstruction of Haji Hasan Mustapa’s anecdotes, Jajang A. Rohmana adopts an academic-descriptive epistemological approach that positions these methodologies as objects of inquiry rather than instruments of da‘wah. The common ground between the two works lies in their use of Sundanese-language anecdotes as a serious epistemological medium for the transmission of Islamic values, while their differences stem from fundamentally distinct objectives, normative foundations, and methodological frameworks.
