Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The partners in this community service program are a group engaged in processing and marketing grilled/smoked fish in Selayar Village, Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku Province. The partners are categorized as economically productive community members. The problems faced by the partners include limited technology for anchovy smoking equipment, inadequate sanitation and hygiene in the production process, and a lack of knowledge in financial bookkeeping. Based on these issues, the proposed solutions include the application of a horizontal smoking device made from used drums, metal sheets, and iron materials, which is effective in maintaining the quality of smoked fish, as well as training in preparing simple business financial records. The main objective of this activity is to empower the group and increase their income in the production and marketing of smoked anchovies. The expected outputs of this program are the production of high-quality smoked anchovies and increased income for the partners. Referring to the identified problems, the methods used include discussions and mentoring, demonstrations and training, as well as continuous assistance to ensure effective technology transfer. This community service activity was conducted at the Selayar Village Office. Discussions, mentoring, and demonstrations were provided to improve the partners’ knowledge and understanding, training was conducted to enhance their skills, and assistance was provided to strengthen and sustain their capabilities.

Abstract

The enactment of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP 2023) marks a significant reform of Indonesia’s national criminal law, oriented toward humanitarian values, restorative justice, and the recognition of living law within society. Although previous studies have mainly examined the normative substance and political debates surrounding the new Criminal Code, limited attention has been given to its early social implementation and institutional readiness. This study aims to analyze the implementation of KUHP 2023 from a socio-legal perspective, particularly focusing on the level of understanding and readiness of both the public and law enforcement officials, as well as the sociological factors influencing its effectiveness. This research employs an empirical legal method with a qualitative approach, utilizing semi-structured interviews with 12 informants from law enforcement, academia, and society, supported by a literature review of regulations and scholarly sources. The findings indicate that law enforcement officials are relatively well-prepared at the structural level; however, the public still demonstrates a low and partial level of understanding of KUHP 2023. The primary inhibiting factors include a prison-centric culture, value pluralism, and potential uncertainty in the application of living law, while the supporting factors encompass the protection of privacy rights, recognition of customary law, and the adoption of a restorative justice approach. Analytically, these findings show that the effectiveness of criminal law reform depends not only on legislative change, but also on the interaction between legal norms, institutional capacity, and community legal culture. From a socio-legal perspective, the implementation of KUHP 2023 reflects a process of cultural transition that necessitates alignment between legal norms and the legal culture of society.

Abstract

Community participation-based environmental monitoring has become an increasingly relevant approach given the limited capacity of government agencies to comprehensively oversee urban residential environmental conditions. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of community participation-based environmental monitoring at RT 08 RW 04, Malaka Jaya Village, East Jakarta, by simultaneously examining three primary variables: the level of citizen participation, the institutional capacity of RT/RW, and the quality of the residential environment as a response variable. A normative juridical method combined with an empirical approach was employed, utilizing participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and structured questionnaires distributed to household heads within the study area. Data validation was conducted through source triangulation to ensure the credibility and consistency of findings. The results indicate that citizen participation in RT 08 is active, sustained, and grounded in environmental-legal awareness, rather than merely reactive to governmental directives. Institutional capacity proved to be high, underpinned by visionary leadership, innovative community infrastructure, and an extensive cross-sectoral partnership network. Both variables synergistically contributed to measurable improvements in residential environmental quality, evidenced by numerous environmental innovations receiving national and international recognition. This study concludes that the effectiveness of community-based environmental monitoring can only be achieved when citizen participation, institutional capacity, and supportive regulation simultaneously coexist, and recommends the RT 08 model as a national replication reference for urban environmental governance.

Abstract

Humans as social beings cannot live alone without interaction with others. Social support is one of the important factors in shaping psychological well-being, especially for individuals who are in vulnerable conditions such as children in orphanages. Orphanages function as family substitutes that provide nurturing, education, and moral and spiritual guidance. In principle, children have the right to be cared for by caregivers who are most responsible for the growth and development of children. This study seeks to describe the form of social support received by children at the Alma Sisters Orphanage, Kupang City, as well as how this support affects their daily lives

Abstract

The ossa pedis or foot bones are part of the lower extremities that are often affected by fractures, especially in the tarsal bones. Radiographic examination of ossa pedis fractures can be performed using several projections such as anteroposterior (AP), AP with a 10° cephalad angle, and oblique projections. This study aimed to determine the radiographic examination procedure of the ossa pedis in cases of tarsal fractures. The research used a meta-analysis method with a narrative and systematic review approach by analyzing relevant literature collected in May–June 2024. The analysis included patient preparation, equipment preparation, and examination procedures. The results showed that the anteroposterior (AP) projection is the most appropriate for examining ossa pedis with tarsal fractures because it follows standard operating procedures, produces clear diagnostic images, and is more efficient. In conclusion, the AP projection is an effective and efficient procedure to support accurate diagnosis of tarsal fractures.
