Abstract

The rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed feedback practices in higher education, particularly in supporting university students' academic writing. Although previous studies have primarily examined the effectiveness of AI-assisted feedback in improving writing performance, limited attention has been given to explaining the pedagogical mechanisms through which AI facilitates sustainable writing development. This study aims to explore the pedagogical roles of AI-assisted feedback in university English classrooms, synthesise current evidence regarding its opportunities and challenges, and propose a conceptual framework for AI-assisted academic writing development. A qualitative library research approach was employed by analysing 33 scholarly publications published between 2017 and 2026. Data were collected through documentation and analysed using thematic analysis to identify recurring concepts and pedagogical patterns. The findings reveal four interrelated themes: AI-assisted feedback enhances linguistic development, supports recursive writing and revision, promotes feedback literacy and learner autonomy, and requires ethical and pedagogically responsible implementation. Based on these findings, the study proposes a conceptual framework illustrating that academic writing development occurs through the interaction of AI-assisted feedback, critical reflection, iterative revision, feedback literacy, learner autonomy, and teacher facilitation. The study concludes that AI should be integrated as a pedagogical learning scaffold rather than an automated writing solution, providing theoretical and practical implications for the responsible integration of AI into university English writing instruction.

Abstract

This study explores congregants’ perceptions of transparency, governance, trust, motivation, mosque performance, and donation intention in the context of mosque fund management in Brunei Darussalam. A cross-sectional quantitative descriptive research design was employed, comprising a pilot study involving 30 respondents and a full-scale survey involving 256 respondents. The questionnaire consisted of 83 items, and its internal reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha, yielding an overall coefficient of 0.945, indicating excellent reliability. Descriptive statistical analysis, including frequencies, percentages, mean scores, and standard deviations, was used to examine respondents’ perceptions of the investigated constructs. The findings revealed that donation intention was reported at a very high level (mean = 4.44), followed by trust, motivation, governance, mosque performance, and transparency. Religious motivation emerged as the most highly rated factor encouraging charitable giving, while concerns regarding the potential misuse of donated funds remained an important issue among respondents. The study contributes contextual evidence on mosque fund management in Brunei Darussalam by describing congregants’ views regarding transparency, accountability, and trust. The findings provide practical implications for mosque administrators and policymakers in promoting transparent, accountable, and sustainable mosque financial management.

Abstract

This study examines the legislative framework governing charitable donation collections in Brunei Darussalam, with a particular focus on issues of legal compliance, financial management transparency, and donor protection. Charitable donation collection plays a vital role in supporting public welfare, social development, and the revitalization of mosques. However, both conventional and digital collection methods present a range of challenges, including inconsistent regulatory guidelines, weaknesses in monitoring and enforcement, and varying levels of transparency across institutions. This study adopts a mixed-methods approach comprising qualitative analysis of legislation, regulatory guidelines, and official reports, together with a quantitative survey administered to members of the public. Statistical analysis using SPSS, supported by Cronbach’s Alpha reliability testing, confirmed the internal consistency of the research instrument. The findings indicate that public trust is significantly influenced by transparency, accountability, and the effectiveness of financial governance. This study is expected to strengthen policies and the legislative framework governing charitable donation collections, enhance the integrity of religious and charitable institutions, and serve as a valuable reference for policymakers in improving fund management practices in accordance with Shariah principles and contemporary governance standards.

Abstract

The potential for plastic waste and wood sawdust is currently experiencing a huge increase. The waste has the potential to greatly disturb the environment and play a role in increasing global warming. One of the results of processing wood and plastic waste is the manufacture of composite boards. This study aims to determine the influence of material composition and adhesive content on the properties of composite boards. The benefit of this research is to provide alternative utilization of plastic waste and sengon sawdust waste as raw materials for composite boards. This study used a randomized design complete with factorial experiments with Tukey's follow-up test. The factors used in the study were the composition of sengon powder material with plastic (90%: 10%, 80%: 20%, and 70%: 30%), and adhesive content (7%, 8%, and 9% of the weight of the material). The parameters studied are density, water absorption, thickness swelling, and compressive strength. The results showed that the material composition factor had a real effect on all parameters studied. The adhesive content factor has a significant effect on the thickness swelling and compressive strength. The average value of density is 0.451 – 0.551 g/cm3, water absorption is 80.760 – 118.101%, thickness swelling is 13.079 – 22.933%, and compressive thickness swelling is 21.598 – 25.004 kg/cm2. The resulting composite board complies with the required standards.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze and determine the influence of leadership and motivation on teacher professionalism at Public Secondary Education 20 of September Metinaro. The background of this research stems from the phenomenon of low teacher professionalism observed in the learning process, such as teachers arriving late to class, low enthusiasm in teaching, monotonous teaching methods, and ineffective communication between teachers and students. To improve teacher professionalism, school leadership and work motivation are considered important factors that need further investigation. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consisted of all teachers at Public Secondary Education 20 of September Metinaro, while the sample was determined proportionally. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The independent variables in this study were leadership (X1) and motivation (X2), while the dependent variable was teacher professionalism (Y). The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, including multiple linear regression tests to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The findings revealed that leadership has a significant effect on teacher professionalism, motivation also has a positive and significant effect, and both leadership and motivation simultaneously have a significant effect on teacher professionalism at Public Secondary Education 20 of September Metinaro. Therefore, it can be concluded that the improvement of teacher professionalism requires the support of effective school leadership as well as strong teacher work motivation. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for schools, education policymakers, and future researchers in formulating strategies to enhance teacher quality and the overall quality of education.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the diversity of mollusks in the mangrove conservation area of Apar Village, Pariaman City, West Sumatra Province. A descriptive method was employed, with data collected using purposive sampling at three stations representing different mangrove vegetation densities (sparse, moderate, and dense). Each station consisted of 10x10 meter plots with 1x1 meter subplots. Sampling was conducted during both high and low tide conditions. The results revealed 9 mollusk species, with the genus Nerita (Nerita balteata, Nerita undata, Neritina violacea, etc.) being the most abundant. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H') ranged from 2.05 to 2.23 (moderate category), the evenness index was high (1.08–1.26), and the dominance index was low (0.12–0.26). Tidal conditions influenced mollusk abundance and distribution, with Nerita species showing better adaptation to environmental changes. These findings indicate that the mangrove ecosystem in Apar Village remains stable with relatively high mollusk diversity, though variations were observed between stations.
