Abstract

The hospitality industry is experiencing rapid growth driven by the adoption of information technology, particularly in hotel reservation systems. Hotel Pinangsia, which still relies on a manual reservation system, faces several issues related to operational inefficiency, record-keeping errors, and limited real-time availability information. This study aims to design and develop a web-based reservation system to address these problems. The software development method used is Agile with the Scrum approach, which includes requirements gathering, sprint planning, iterative development, system testing, and implementation. The main programming language used is JavaScript with the Next.js framework for both frontend and backend development. Database management is handled using the Prisma ORM, connected to a PostgreSQL database hosted on the cloud via Aiven services. The system is also integrated with Xendit as the payment gateway provider, enabling online transaction processing. Key features of the system include

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for schools to provide a more effective, efficient and accurate information system for new student admissions in order to overcome the obstacles of the conventional registration process which still uses paper forms and is prone to delays and data loss. The aim of the research is to design and build a web-based information system for new student admissions that can help schools manage registration data and make it easy for prospective students to obtain information. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The system development method applied is a prototype, allowing for gradual adjustments to user needs. The research results show that the information system built is capable of providing online registration features, printing proof of registration, reporting prospective student data, as well as easy access to information without having to come directly to school. This system minimizes administrative obstacles, increases the speed of service, and supports transparency in the process of admitting new students. The conclusion of this research is that a web-based information system can be the right solution to improve the quality of new student admission services at schools, and can be further developed by improving the interface and regular evaluation to suit user needs.

Abstract

This study emerges as a solution to the administrative challenges at Hotel Pinangsia, which still relies on conventional systems for attendance, leave/permit administration, and payroll calculations, resulting in delays in recap, inconsistent information, and obstacles in preparing executive reports. The objective of this research is to design and implement a web-based Human Resource Information System (HRIS) as an integrated data reference that consolidates essential operational modules. The methodology employed includes qualitative strategies (field observations and in-depth discussions) to identify requirement specifications, software construction using the Agile Scrum paradigm with an iterative approach, and functionality verification through black-box testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). The developed platform integrates multi-layered OTP authentication, an attendance system utilizing face recognition (verifying face–location–time), a leave/permit submission and approval mechanism, payroll administration with periodic payslips, as well as comprehensive employee and user database management. Testing results confirm that all fundamental scenarios operate according to acceptance criteria, accelerating payroll recap processes, enhancing the credibility of attendance data, and streamlining approval coordination. The practical impact is the optimization of operational efficiency and transparency in decision-making processes; future development agendas include comprehensive non-functional evaluation (load testing, security assessment, reliability testing), expansion of audit trails, development of mobile/PWA access channels with geo-fencing, and the implementation of KPI-based managerial analytics dashboards.

Abstract

High network availability is a primary requirement in modern enterprise environments; however, disruptions caused by link failures often hinder operational continuity. This study aims to design a Layer 2 network using Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and EtherChannel technologies to realize the concept of zero link failure, which ensures the network maintains connectivity automatically when a link failure occurs. The research method adopted is an experimental approach, using Cisco Packet Tracer as the testing medium and network traffic analysis with Wireshark. The research process follows the PPDIOO (Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, Optimize) framework, beginning with network requirement analysis at PT. XYZ, topology design, and the simulation of STP and EtherChannel configurations to enhance redundancy and bandwidth capacity. The simulation results indicate that the network design is capable of maintaining connectivity even when one physical link fails, with a recovery time of less than 5 seconds. Additionally, it significantly improves network stability and throughput. The implementation of STP prevents loop occurrences, while EtherChannel aggregates multiple physical links into a single logical link, providing resilience against failure. Although limited to simulation, this research offers practical solutions to enhance the reliability of Layer 2 networks on an enterprise scale. Further testing on real hardware is recommended for validation and further development of future implementations.

Abstract

In the early stages of operations, the Aprilia Cellular Counter did not have a structured petty cash management system, so transaction recording was still done manually without a clear recapitulation. This condition caused difficulties in monitoring cash flow, calculating balances, and preparing financial reports accurately and timely. This study aims to design and build a petty cash information system that is able to support the recording of petty cash transactions, balance management, and presentation of financial reports in a computerized manner. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The system development used the Waterfall method which includes the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was built with the VB.NET programming language, Microsoft Access as a database, and Crystal Report as a reporting medium. The results of the study indicate that the developed system can simplify the process of inputting cash inflows and outflows, accelerate the preparation of periodic reports, and present petty cash balance information in real time. Thus, this system is able to improve the orderliness of petty cash management and support more effective operational decision-making

Abstract

These days, the creation of AI-Based Performance Appraisal Systems combines the use of more sophisticated data science with best practices in performance management.  This method is therefore broken down into a number of important approaches. In general, the approach entails creating a hybrid system that prioritizes human oversight and prudent managerial decision-making while automating data collection and improving the objectivity of AI-assisted analysis. In order to move away from discrete and subjective evaluation techniques and toward a more effective, flexible, and data-driven performance management system—where each choice is supported by extensive supporting data—AI-based performance appraisal systems are being developed.

Abstract

Energy waste caused by manually operated lights is a common problem in daily life. This study aims to design an automatic lighting system based on Arduino Uno using a light sensor (LDR) to turn the lights on and off according to ambient light intensity. The method applied is experimental, including hardware design (Arduino Uno, LDR, resistor, relay, LED light) and software programming using Arduino IDE. The system reads sensor data, processes it, and controls the lights automatically based on a set light threshold. Testing was conducted by simulating day and night conditions. The results show that the lights turn on when ambient light is low and turn off when sufficient, operating responsively and efficiently. This system improves user convenience and reduces energy consumption. The implementation of Arduino-based automatic lighting provides a practical and energy-saving solution for adaptive illumination.

Abstract

The selection process for scholarship recipients at SMPN 1 Bangli is often hindered by subjectivity and inefficiency in data processing, which risks leading to poorly targeted decisions. To address this issue, this research designs and develops a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) by implementing the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The SAW method was chosen for its systematic ability to perform multi-criteria assessment by ranking alternatives. The system development process includes the stages of requirements analysis, design using Unified Modeling Language (UML), implementation on a web platform, and testing. The results of the study indicate that the application of the SAW method in this web-based DSS provides a more objective, transparent, and accurate selection tool. Furthermore, the system significantly accelerates the decision-making process, assisting the school in determining scholarship recipients more efficiently and effectively.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has fostered the rise of various interactive online gaming platforms, with Roblox standing out as one of the most prominent. This platform allows users not only to play but also to design and share their own games. As the number of active users increases, the volume of reviews submitted on the Google Play Store also grows. These reviews contain valuable information but require sentiment analysis to automatically understand users’ opinions, satisfaction levels, and complaints. This research aims to conduct sentiment analysis on Roblox user reviews by comparing the performance of three machine learning algorithms—Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, and Decision Tree—to determine which yields the most optimal results. The study follows the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) framework, which includes several stages: selecting 5,000 reviews, performing text preprocessing (such as cleaning, case folding, tokenizing, normalization, stopword removal, stemming, and labeling), transforming data using word embedding, and evaluating model performance with metrics including Confusion Matrix, Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. The experimental findings indicate that the Decision Tree algorithm achieved the best performance, with an accuracy of 85%, precision of 0.847, recall of 0.850, and a weighted F1-score of 0.848. In contrast, Random Forest obtained an accuracy of 83.6% and a macro F1-score of 0.773, while Naïve Bayes recorded the lowest performance with 64.2% accuracy and a macro F1-score of 0.527. Overall, the Decision Tree algorithm demonstrated superior capability and balance in classifying positive, negative, and neutral sentiments in Roblox user reviews, showing more effective text pattern recognition compared to probabilistic-based methods.

Abstract

In recent years, earthquakes have become one of the most frequent natural disasters in Indonesia. Unfortunately, the existing earthquake early warning system is still centralized and has not effectively reached the household scale. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based earthquake early warning system by utilizing the SW-420 vibration sensor and the NodeMCU 8266 microcontroller. This system is designed to be able to detect vibrations in real-time and provide automatic notifications via the Telegram and Bylnk applications to users. The research method used is the engineering research method with a descriptive approach including the stages of hardware design, software programming, and system testing. The implementation results show that the system is able to detect vibrations accurately with an average response rate of less than one second, and successfully sends real-time notifications to users via Telegram and Bylnk. Thus, this system can be used as an alternative solution for simple earthquake early warning that is effective, economical, and easy to implement in the home environment.
