Abstract

In today's modern era, the growth of modern stores such as Indomaret, Alfamart, and so on is very rapid in all regions in Indonesia. Modern stores such as Indomaret and Alfamart can almost be found in every region and certain areas are even squeezed together between companies that turn their backs. This study aims to identify potential hazards and risks of work accidents in minimarket environments, focusing on Indomaret on Jl. Golf Course, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The research method used is qualitative descriptive through direct observation and documentation. The observations showed the potential for physical, ergonomic, biological, chemical, and psychosocial hazards in the minimarket. Physical hazards are associated with piles of products on the floor that can cause accidents, while ergonomic hazards occur due to lack of rest while working which can lead to muscle disorders. Biological hazards arise from the lack of protection against microorganisms, while chemical hazards are associated with the use of ovens and wires adjacent to microwaves. Psychosocial hazards are linked to stress due to financial problems. Risk control can be done through elimination, substitution, design, administration, and use of personal protective equipment. The concept of occupational safety and health (K3) is important to protect employees and customers. Hazard identification and risk control are important steps to prevent accidents and protect welfare in the convenience store environment.

Abstract

The oil and gas industry plays a very important role in efforts to meet the needs of the world community in this modern era. In Indonesia, the oil and gas industry, or what we often know as the OIL and Gas industry has developed very rapidly. Jobs in the oil and gas industry sector have very high potential for danger and risk. Based on data collected by BPJS Employment throughout 2020 to 2022, the number of work accidents tends to increase, this also includes data related to Occupational Diseases (PAK). The aim of carrying out this research is to find out how the K3 Management System (SMK3) is implemented by companies in the Indonesian Oil and Gas Industry. This research uses the literature study method. The research results found that the SMK3 implemented by companies in the oil and gas industry sector in Indonesia was running well and optimally. The majority of companies in the oil and gas sector in Indonesia have a high commitment to K3 in their work environment.

Abstract

Fishermen are a group of people whose livelihoods depend on marine products for catching and cultivating fish. Most fishermen live on the coast, close to their place of work. This research uses a literature review methodology that focuses on variables or topics studied from previous research. The act of literature review involves collecting data from libraries and documentation. Data related to the socialization of the use of PPE by traditional fishermen was obtained from research articles and literature reviews. By using predetermined inclusion criteria, namely complete scientific publications published in the last five years, the procedure for collecting articles is carried out by searching literature sources. Review literature sources can be found by using the following keywords in Google Scholar: Relationship between fish fishermen's complaints of dermatitis and their use of personal protective equipment in Mela II Village, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. A device called personal protective equipment (PPE) is used to shield the body or oneself from the risks associated with workplace accidents. PPE can lessen the severity of work accidents, notwithstanding its shortcomings.

Abstract

Based on BPJS Employment data, there were 153,044 work accidents in 2020. Of this number, 68.5 percent occurred in the environment where work was carried out. Providing and using personal protective equipment (PPE) is an effort to improve occupational safety and health. Work experience and behavior in choosing the type of PPE influence the fulfillment of PPE use. Based on the findings of a preliminary survey conducted on 19 August 2022, through interviews with contractor staff at The Umalas Signature Project which oversees K3, no worker training on K3 was ever provided during the approximately five months the project was operational even though workers are the party most to blame for most work accidents. negligent building practices and negligent use of personal protective equipment. Employees' use of personal protective equipment can be influenced by three elements, namely psychological, individual, and organizational aspects. A total of 39 respondents were surveyed and interviewed to collect data, which was then evaluated using scoring analysis and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. To measure the level of motivation of workers in using personal protective equipment (PPE) based on individual, psychological and organizational factors, data analysis was carried out to identify influential factors that influence this behavior. Based on research findings, the organizational factors in the FO 3 statement item which has an average score of 4.5 (very strong) and a percentage value of 95% is a determining factor that influences employee health to use personal safety equipment (PPE). The Individual Factor then displays an influence value of 44.4% based on the multiple linear regression analysis test. The value of the influence of psychological elements is 41.4%. The influence value of organizational factors is 67.1%.

Abstract

This study identified various bacteria in the hospitalization room that have the potential to cause nosocomial infections, which are a public health problem with a prevalence of between 3.0% to 20.7% and an incidence of 5-10%. This study was conducted through a literature review method, collecting data from various relevant literature sources. This study emphasizes the importance of further research to understand the risk factors and appropriate use of antibiotics in managing nosocomial infections. Suggested preventive measures include changing bed linen daily and conducting routine microbiological examinations to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. The results showed that the inpatient room is an environment rich in various types of bacteria that can cause nosocomial infections. The bacteria found included Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus sp., Staphylococcus sp., Enterobacteriaceae, Salmonella sp., Shigella sp., Actinomyces israelii, Vibrio cholerae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Proteus sp., Yersinia enterocolitica, Gram-positive coccus, and Micrococcus sp.
