Abstract

This article examined the factors of telehealth, data privacy, and cybersecurity in today’s healthcare environment and discusses what key issues should be addressed and what effective solutions should be implemented and their implications for STEM Education. As telehealth brings more opportunities for the delivery of care, patient data have emerged as critical areas of concern. This paper aimed at discussing the telehealth data privacy concerns, the current and future cybersecurity threats facing healthcare systems, and recommended ways of enhancing these two areas. Based on a literature analysis and interviews with telehealth experts, this paper identifies that telehealth has unique advantages and opens specific security threats. The studies demonstrate the importance of enhanced data security policies, better IT systems to prevent unauthorized access, and constantly evolving legislation to safeguard the patient’s life and their personal information. The implications of telehealth, data privacy, and cybersecurity for STEM Education are these three contexts can be used as the contexts in the science learning process.

Abstract

Having procedural knowledge empowers students and helps them connect theory and practice in biology education.  Encouraging pupils to learn procedural knowledge helps them acquire academic talents and practical life skills.  In fact, many studies show that students' procedural knowledge is still low, especially regarding the use of microscopes and cell observation. This study aims to discover how the Discovery Learning model, combined with practicum, affects students' procedural understanding of using microscopes and seeing cell structures.  A pretest-posttest control group design was employed in this quantitative quasi-experimental study.  The pupils of Class XI at one of the senior high schools in Pandeglang, Banten comprised the research population.  Seventy-four students were chosen at random to make up the research sample.  Two groups—the experimental and control class groups—were created from the research sample. Students in the control class utilized the Discovery learning model without practicum activities, while students in the experimental class used the Discovery learning model combined with practicum activities.  According to the findings, students in the experimental class outperformed those in the control class regarding their average post-test score on procedural knowledge.  Additionally, pupils in the experimental class had a greater improvement in procedural knowledge.  Students' comprehension of scientific topics is strengthened by combining discovery learning with practicum. Additionally, students become more involved in the learning process, which boosts their procedural knowledge. Students in the experimental class were more actively engaging in each activity stage, according to the observation data from the practicum.  This result demonstrates how students' procedural knowledge and learning outcomes are enhanced when discovery learning and practicum are combined.  Therefore, in order to enhance students' procedural understanding, teachers had to increase the frequency of practicums.

Abstract

Motivation to learn is an internal process that becomes one of the drivers for students to engage and direct themselves in the learning process to achieve results. To engage and direct themselves in the learning process to achieve the desired results. This study aims to analyze the relationship between biology students’ learning motivation and online learning at one of the universities in Banten, Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive correlation method through a questionnaire filling approach. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software. The significance value of online learning and student learning motivation shows, Sig. 0.05 = Ho accepted = no difference = online learning data on learning motivation. The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between online learning and student learning motivation. This research has some limitations, such as time constraints, as well as the representation of respondents who may not cover the entire student population.

Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process that enables students to actively develop their potential, including knowledge, capability, creativity, independence, and a noble character. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Team Games Tournament (TGT)-type cooperative learning on students' interest and learning outcomes regarding the concept of viruses and their role in life. The method employed in this research was a descriptive approach with a quantitative orientation. The research subject involves students of a high school in Serang, Banten. The study showed that the application of the TGT in the learning process significantly increased students' interest and their learning outcomes. Students were more active and competitive between learning groups. In conclusion, the TGT has a positive effect on students’ interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop BIDIBO (Biology Digital Book) based on Flipbook Digital as a learning medium, specifically about mangrove food processing. This study also aims to determine the feasibility of the developed product and students' responses to the use of the Biology Digital Book. The research method used is the Research and Development (RD) method. The research was conducted from June to November 2024 at a senior high school in Serang City, Indonesia, and a state university in Banten, Indonesia. The feasibility assessment by subject matter experts on BIDIBO obtained a score of 90%, while the assessment by media experts obtained a score of 95%. Both scores are rated as highly feasible. The student acceptance of the use of BIDIBO was rated at 90.8%, also within the range of high feasibility. Hence, it could be inferred that the Digital Flipbook based on BIDIBO on mangrove food processing is highly feasible for an educational media, especially for the issue on biological diversity.
