Abstract

This study investigates the management and implementation of parenting programs in early childhood education settings within Southwest Aceh, Indonesia. The research focuses on three kindergartens (TK), TK. Negeri Pembina Blangpidie, TK. Al Khaliq Susoh, and TK. Jamal Has Jeumpa—utilizing a qualitative approach to explore how these programs are planned, organized, executed, and monitored. Findings underscore the critical role of school principals in leading these initiatives and the significant impact of active parental involvement on children's character development. The study highlights the successful integration of community resources and stakeholder engagement despite resource constraints and cultural differences. The results suggest that systematic management, continuous feedback, and adaptive strategies are essential for effective collaboration between schools and parents. Key observations include the need for clear annual goals, structured coordination, and regular evaluation mechanisms to refine program effectiveness. The study calls for future research to address its limitations, including a confined geographical scope and short study duration, by conducting longitudinal and comparative studies across diverse regions. Incorporating quantitative methods alongside qualitative insights could provide a more comprehensive understanding of the long-term impacts of parenting programs on child development. Therefore, the research advocates for policies that facilitate active school-parent collaboration, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in educational practices to support the holistic development of children.

Abstract

This research was motivated by students who observed low interest in science learning, negatively affecting their cognitive learning outcomes. The issue stems from the conventional, teacher-centered lecture method, resulting in one-way communication that causes students to become bored and disengaged. This study aims to enhance students' interest in learning by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by visual media for 5th-grade students at elementary school SD Negeri 100706 Padang Lancat in Padangsidimpuan City, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This research employs a collaborative Classroom Action Research approach with homeroom teachers. Data collection involved observation sheets and questionnaires. The findings indicate that the PBL model assisted by visual media significantly increased students' interest in learning science. Initial data revealed that only 26.67% of students were categorized as having a good interest in learning. In Cycle I, this percentage increased to 60%, and in Cycle II, it further rose to 87%, with students categorized as having good and very good interest in learning.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of education financing management in improving the quality of learning at SMP Negeri Unggul Tunas Nusa and SMP Negeri 1 Susoh in Aceh Barat Daya Regency, Indonesia. The research focuses on education financing management's planning, implementation, supervision, and accountability. A qualitative approach was employed, involving interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that planning education financing at both schools follows the guidelines set by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia and is formulated in the annual School Activity and Budget Plan (RKAS). The implementation of education financing adheres to the principles of flexibility, effectiveness, efficiency, transparency, and accountability, with the use of BOS funds directed towards supporting the learning process and improving the quality of education. Internal and external parties supervise education financing to ensure funds' accountable, transparent, effective, and efficient utilization. The implementation of transparency and accountability in education financing management has been running very well, with regular reports and budget accountability meetings involving various stakeholders. The study concludes that the implementation of education financing management at SMP Negeri Unggul Tunas Nusa and SMP Negeri 1 Susoh has been carried out effectively, efficiently, transparently, and accountably, contributing to the improvement of learning quality. Further research is recommended to explore the implementation of education financing management in other schools or regions to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the practices and challenges in improving the quality of learning through effective education financing management.

Abstract

The study investigates the management of the zoning system for new student admissions (PPDB) at SD Negeri 3 Jeumpa and SD Negeri 4 Kuala Batee in Aceh Barat Daya Regency, Indonesia. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, it explores the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation processes. Key findings reveal that while adherence to Ministry of Education guidelines ensured systematic planning and implementation, challenges such as online registration difficulties, quota constraints, and misinformation persist. Supporting factors include skilled personnel, infrastructure, and collaboration, whereas hindrances involve resource limitations and community misinformation. The study recommends sustained evaluation and strategic improvements to enhance the PPDB process and advance educational quality in the region.

Abstract

This study explores developing and implementing a web-based Management Information System (MIS) tailored for SMK Negeri 2 Banda Aceh, a vocational school in Indonesia. To enhance administrative efficiency and address unique challenges in vocational education, the system centralizes tasks such as attendance tracking, academic record management, and internship coordination. Employing the waterfall model, this project proceeded through structured phases, including requirements analysis, system design, development, and usability testing. A sample of 50 users, comprising students, teachers, and school operators, evaluated the system based on usability, interface design, and information clarity through a questionnaire, yielding high satisfaction scores. Reliability testing and correlation analysis revealed strong internal consistency across questionnaire items and identified critical factors influencing user satisfaction, such as interface appeal and effective error resolution. The results indicate that the system meets core user needs and contributes to a streamlined, user-friendly school management process. With implementation planning, user training, and ongoing maintenance, this MIS offers a sustainable solution that can serve as a model for vocational schools across Indonesia, showcasing the potential of digital solutions in advancing educational administration and supporting career readiness in vocational education.

Abstract

This paper explores the potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to transform higher education. Generative AI is a technology that can create new content, like text, images, and code, by learning patterns from existing data. As generative AI tools become more popular, there is growing interest in how AI can improve teaching, learning, and research. Higher education faces many challenges, such as meeting diverse learning needs and preparing students for fast-changing careers. Generative AI offers solutions by personalizing learning experiences, making education more engaging, and supporting skill development through adaptive content. It can also help researchers by automating tasks like data analysis and hypothesis generation, making research faster and more efficient. Moreover, generative AI can streamline administrative tasks, improving efficiency across institutions. However, using AI also raises concerns about privacy, bias, academic integrity, and equal access. To address these issues, institutions must establish clear ethical guidelines, ensure data security, and promote fairness in AI use. Training for faculty and AI literacy for students are essential to maximize benefits while minimizing risks. The paper suggests a strategic framework for integrating AI in higher education, focusing on infrastructure, ethical practices, and continuous learning. By adopting AI responsibly, higher education can become more inclusive, engaging, and practical, preparing students for the demands of a technology-driven world.
