Abstract

. The background to this research emerged because of problems in increasing students' interest and understanding of learning material. Students tend to feel bored and sleepy during the learning process, which leads to low learning outcomes. To overcome this challenge, interesting learning methods are needed to improve learning outcomes and student interest in class. One method that has been proven effective is Problem Based Learning (PBL). The aim of this research is to improve student learning outcomes and achieve learning achievement targets in class. The research method used is quantitative. The results of the first cycle showed that 4 students were at the advanced level, 4 students were at the proficient level, and 2 students were at the appropriate level, with an average observation learning result of 78%. In the second cycle, there was a significant increase with 6 advanced level students, 3 proficient level students, and 1 decent level student, and the average observation learning result reached 86.5%. The implications of these findings confirm that the PBL method is able to improve learning outcomes and student achievement targets in learning.

Abstract

The main problem occurs for this research is the result of Catholics lesson is too low for 8th grades students in Pengabdi Junior High School for informs the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. The matter appears because of the educator could not stimulus the students’ activation in learning progress until they could not able to increase they abilities and creativities critically, results of learning methods and multimedia for educator still in speech method and common discussion which still monotone until the students feels bored and passive to learn the material, especially about “God’s Kingdom”, seems hard because it needs to analyses their meanings and the goals. This case appears badly in students results, because there are many students could not reach the Criteria of Learning Progress. In other hand, the students’ results become lower and does not fulfill the targets. This research aims is to knowing well their results in Catholics Religion for 8th grades students in Pengabdi Junior High School for informs the Kingdom of Jesus Christ through Problem Based Learning method and to indicate the increasing of their lesson. This research runs in Class Research Methods, which be held in two steps. The sources of Data is from Students results in learning and the observation of students of concern in learning. The progress of action in first step, before using Problem Based Learning method from 20 students, there is 65 % which still lower, although the total of good results just 30%. In evaluation of first steps, the researcher use the Problem Based Learning method, there is 70% the total of good results, and there is 30% of students in lower results. This matter happens significantly in second step which the total of good results become 100%. In results, this research shows there is a good progress for students’ result in learning process from the 1st and the 2nd steps. The presentation of students’ progress in learning happens due to progress of students’ interest in learning process through Problem Based Learning method in learning activities.

Abstract

The researcher is a State Teacher at SMK Negeri 1 Monterado, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, in the subject of Catholic Religious Education. This research is Classroom Action Research which aims to improve student learning outcomes and critical reasoning in learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model or Problem Based Learning (PBM). The point is whether the PBL Learning Model can be effectively applied in the classroom, especially in the Class The method used was Classroom Action Research in 2 implementation cycles on class XI students at SMKN 1 Monterado, using discussion and question and answer methods in problem solving of real problems encountered. Based on the research results, it was found that the problem-based learning system by applying the discussion and question and answer method, was felt to be quite effective and could improve learning outcomes, find the source of problems, analyze the sources of problems and attempt to solve problems encountered and Critical Reasoning. For this reason, this method is very suitable to be applied to arouse students' enthusiasm for learning and bring out students' creativity in learning.

Abstract

Reading holds an important social role in human life. By reading, people may enrich their spirit since their insight becoming wider than before. The first function of reading is as a tool of communication within the society. Through the reading, someone’ background can be also reflected. It also preserved a long-life time achievement. Another aspect of reading is the two different polars can be maintained. The first pole is that reading acts as an important union since it can give moral values. One the other side, it is able to stimuli and produce the constructive and discontructive pollar. Learning process cannot be separated from reading activity, such as review the prior material or even the supporting materials. It is also needed to complish the assignment given. The problem may arise from the students’ interest. It is caused by the lack of the students’ comprehension including the mastery of vocabulary in order to fulfil the goal. Based on the reasons above, it is noted if reading is an important activity must be considered. Reading is a tool to elevate the students’ knowledge – if he/she is a teacher- it is needed to apply their knowledge in the future.

Abstract

Welcoming the Golden Indonesia plan map for 2016 to 2045 with a vision of quality education that matches developed countries with the implementation of the Independent Curriculum as one of the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology as a way to perfect the learning system in Indonesia. Implementation of the Independent Curriculum focuses on the use of technology and learning communities to share with each other for teachers, students and academics. One of them is by implementing a learning model that stimulates students to think critically by being actively involved in solving problems adapted to the realities of everyday life. This research was conducted to analyze the use of a learning model that applies critical thinking and solutions in solving problems, namely Problem Based Learning and as a way to improve student learning outcomes. The method in this research uses classroom action research techniques which aim to improve or increase the quality of learning. Through PBL, students are motivated and feel happy in learning Catholic Religious Education and Character, this is because students feel directly involved in the learning process by getting appreciation for the results of their work. The description of this research is very clear that one of the factors for successful learning is the use of learning models in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia has experienced many developments from year to year with various models, different methods, and curriculum changes according to the needs of the times. One of them is Merdeka Belajar. Through Religious Learning, students are encouraged to actively communicate, be creative, explore, be skilled at reflection and dare to express their opinions. In this learning, students are also given the opportunity to carry out a project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile which includes six dimensions. In this classroom action research, the researcher focuses on the dimensions of critical reasoning. With critical reasoning skills, students are expected to be able to identify, solve problems, make the right decisions to overcome various problems and be able to see things from various perspectives and be open. SMK Negeri 2 Magelang is a favorite school with many achievements. Because it is a vocational school, learning is more focused on productive (vocational) subjects so that general subjects (adaptive normative) receive less attention from students. Based on the results of observations, it was found that there was a decline in student learning achievement in PAK learning. Based on these problems, researchers are trying to design the learning process to be more varied and interesting. One of the learning models implemented is video-assisted Discovery Learning. This research was conducted at SMKN 2 Magelang Phase F class XII with the research variables learning achievement and critical reasoning. The aim of this research is to determine the application of the video-assisted Discovery Learning learning model which can improve learning achievement and determine critical reasoning abilities in class XII PAK learning at SMK Negeri 2 Magelang. Data collection techniques using observation sheets for critical reasoning variables and tests for learning achievement variables. Data from observations and test results were scored and processed and then presented descriptively. The research results show an increase in accordance with the expected achievement targets. The results of learning achievement in cycle II show an increase, this can be seen from the test results which reached the category from 0% to 33.3%, the proficient category from 16.7% to 50% and the adequate category from 50% to 16.7% and new categories are developing 33.3% to 0%. The results of critical reasoning ability also increased, the proficient category was 33.3%, which was previously 0%, the proficient category was 66.7%, which was previously 50%. This increase shows that the video-assisted discovery learning model is proven to be able to improve students' learning achievement and critical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

This research is classroom action research (ptk) which consists of 2 cycles and 4 stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection collecting pretest scores, cycle 1, cycle II. The subjects in this research were all 10 class XI students. In the initial conditions, the evaluation results of students who studied completely only reached 5 students (27.78%), while in the first cycle, there were 10 students who were able to study completely (55.56%). The criteria for complete learning are based on the grades achieved that have reached or exceeded the KKM (minimum completion criteria), namely ≥ 75 for Catholic religion and character subjects. In the second cycle, there were 10 students who were able to study completely (88.89%). The criteria for complete learning were based on the grades achieved by students who had reached or exceeded the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria) at SMK NEGERI 1 RAYA for the 2019/2020 Academic Year. In summary, it can be concluded that the results of the second cycle from the aspect of participation and collaboration in groups in the learning process have been achieved at 88.89%. This achievement has exceeded the set success indicators, namely 86%

Abstract

Therefore, efforts continue to be made by the government, educational institutions and society as a whole to improve access, quality and relevance of education in order to create a young generation that is skilled, competitive and ready to face global challenges. In the context of the Independent Curriculum, Catholic religious education in Indonesia focuses on developing religious understanding, moral values ​​and Catholic spirituality for students. The independent curriculum emphasizes the Pancasila student profile. In this classroom action research, the researcher focuses on the dimension of independence which is based on the importance of forming strong character and mental attitudes in the younger generation, especially in facing complex global challenges. The students who are accepted to school at SD Negeri 46 Plasma II are students who are accepted into majors that do not match their initial interests. Students with this kind of condition tend to feel unmotivated to learn. Based on the problem conditions above, teachers can provide learning experiences by designing the learning process. One learning model that can be applied is Problem Based Learning (PBL) or problem-based learning. The objectives of the research include (1) to find out how the use of the Problem Based Learning model in increasing students' learning motivation in the material Maria and Elisabeth responded to God's plan in class V of SD Negeri 46 Plasma II, (2) to find out the increase in learning motivation of class V students of SD Negeri 46 Plasma II with the help of the Problem Based Learning model on Maria and Elisabeth material responding to God's plan, (3) to find out the use of the Problem Based Learning model on material for men and women equally, class V students at SD Negeri 46 Plasma II can apply the student profile Pancasila dimension of independence. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, interviews and documentation. The use of the Problem Based Learning model according to the syntax which includes orienting students to problems, organizing students to learn, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting results, analyzing and evaluating the problem solving process, is effective in helping increase learning motivation and student independence in material Maria and Elisabeth responded to God's plan in class V of SD Negeri 46 Plasma II.

The research objectives include (1) to find out how the use of the Problem Based Learning model in increasing students' learning motivation on healthy lifestyle material, in class xi of SMK Negeri 1 Merdeka, (2) to find out how to increase the learning motivation of class assistance with the Problem Based Learning model in healthy lifestyle material, (3) to find out the use of the Problem Based Learning model in healthy lifestyle material, class XI students at SMK Negeri 1 Merdeka can apply the Pancasila student profile in healthy lifestyle material, critical reasoning principles. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, interviews and documentation. data presentation, namely presenting data in the form of descriptions, graphs, tables and drawing conclusions by making conclusions from research results that refer to the problem formulation. The use of the Problem Based Learning model according to the syntax which includes orienting students to problems, organizing students to learn, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting results, analyzing and evaluating the problem solving process, is effective in helping increase learning motivation and student independence in Healthy lifestyle material in class XI of SMK Negeri 1 Merdeka

Abstract

In Dusun Semidang, Desa Suka Maju, Kecamatan Sungai Betung, Kabupaten Bengkayang, West Kalimantan Province, education faces significant challenges. The majority of the population, engaged in farming and gardening, has a low level of education, especially after completing elementary school. The low educational attainment of parents can influence their understanding of the importance of education for their children. This research focuses on Catholic Religious Education at SDN 08 Semidang, with the aim of shaping students into individuals of faith. Students have low interest in learning, lack access to textbooks, and receive inadequate family support. In the fourth grade of SDN 08 Semidang, the Discovery Learning method with the assistance of audio-visual media is applied to address these issues.This study uses two action cycles based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. In the first cycle, student learning outcomes did not meet the target, but student reflection questionnaires indicated improvement. In the second cycle, the results were better, with student attitudes reaching 83% of the 80% target. Therefore, the second cycle is considered sufficient and concluded.The results show that the discovery learning model with audio-visual media is effective in improving the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education in the fourth grade at SDN 08 Semidang. Several recommendations are proposed for further development, including designing more contextual learning materials, providing teacher training, continuous evaluation, active parental participation, and further research to assess the long-term impact of this learning model..
