Abstract

This observational and interview-based study explores the effectiveness of shalat (Islamic prayer) in enhancing happiness among adults. Conducted with two primary subjects who regularly perform the five daily prayers, the study uses a qualitative approach through direct observation and semi-structured interviews, supported by significant others for triangulation. The findings reveal that consistent and mindful performance of shalat correlates with positive emotional, behavioral, and physical indicators of well-being. Subjects demonstrated calmness, gratitude, emotional regulation, and increased productivity after prayer. The study emphasizes shalat not only as a religious obligation but also as a spiritual practice that contributes to psychological resilience and subjective well-being. These results suggest that spiritual practices like shalat can serve as valuable tools for mental health and happiness in adults, providing a meaningful avenue for further research in religious psychology and emotional wellness.

Abstract

The course on Models & Learning Strategies is a crucial component in the teacher education program, aimed at equipping students with the ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective learning processes. This study aims to analyze the implementation of this course in enhancing the pedagogical competence of students at Ma’had ‘Aly Sa’idusshidiqiyah Jakarta. A qualitative approach using a case study was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the pedagogical competence of the students is good, as seen from their microteaching practice results, where the majority earned an A, with only 2 students receiving a B out of 21 students. This competence is reflected in the students' ability to understand the subject matter, plan, implement, and evaluate the learning process effectively. These findings highlight the importance of mastering models & learning strategies to enhance the practical skills of students in creating creative, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sejauh mana kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMK Angkasa Mojokerto telah mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam Wasathiyah, serta mengidentifikasi strategi pengembangannya agar lebih kontekstual dan relevan terhadap karakteristik peserta didik SMK. Islam Wasathiyah merupakan pendekatan keislaman yang menekankan prinsip keseimbangan (tawazun), moderasi (tawassuth), toleransi (tasamuh), dan keadilan (i’tidal), yang sangat penting dalam membangun kesadaran keberagamaan yang damai dan inklusif, khususnya di kalangan pelajar vokasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumentasi terhadap kurikulum PAI, wawancara mendalam dengan guru PAI, kepala sekolah, dan siswa, serta observasi partisipatif terhadap aktivitas pembelajaran dan keagamaan di sekolah. Teknik analisis data mengacu pada model Miles dan Huberman, yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, disertai triangulasi teknik dan sumber untuk menjaga validitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai Islam Wasathiyah telah mulai diintegrasikan dalam kurikulum PAI SMK Angkasa Mojokerto, meskipun masih bersifat parsial dan belum sistematis. Guru memiliki kesadaran pentingnya moderasi beragama, namun keterbatasan pemahaman konseptual dan pendekatan pedagogis menjadi tantangan utama. Di sisi lain, siswa menunjukkan respons positif terhadap nilai toleransi dan sikap inklusif, namun pemahaman tersebut belum sepenuhnya mendalam dan konsisten. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan kebijakan sekolah, pelatihan guru, serta revisi kurikulum nasional untuk memasukkan nilai-nilai wasathiyah secara eksplisit dalam struktur dan praktik pembelajaran PAI.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the film Bilal: A New Breed of Hero (2015) in enhancing students’ understanding of the values of monotheism (tauhid). The background of this study is the need for innovative and engaging learning media to help students deeply compre-hend the concept of tauhid This research uses a quantitative approach with a true experimental method and a pre--test post--test control group design. The subjects of this study were 26 students of class 7A at SMP Islam Al Maarif 01 Singosari. Data collection techniques included pre--tests, post--tests, observation, and interviews. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of the values of tauhid after watching the film. It can be concluded that the film is effective as a learning medium in improving students’ understanding of monotheism values. This research recommends the use of Islamic films as an alternative learning medium in Islamic Religious Education subjects.
