Abstract

This study aims to see the impact of mathematics learning with the Problem Based Learning Model using a tourism context. Data collection was carried out using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The steps are research questions, selection criteria, develop search strategies, select studies, the quality of studies, synthesis results related to mathematics learning that are relevant to this study. 12 relevant articles from 40 articles used in this study were obtained from Publish or Perish, Google, Google Scholar. Based on the 12 selected articles, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model in mathematics learning with a tourism context has a positive impact on students' understanding. The use of a tourism context allows students to be more involved and motivated in the learning process, and helps them relate mathematical concepts to real situations around them. This also shows an increase in critical thinking skills and conceptual understanding among students.

Abstract

Teachers must use appropriate learning models, if the learning models used are not appropriate, students will experience difficulties in learning and this will result in low student learning outcomes. Researchers aim to determine trends in the application of the Think Pair Share type cooperative learning model in mathematics learning. The method used by researchers is Systematic Literature Review. Researchers used articles consisting of 12 inclusion articles and 10 exclusion articles for a total of 22 articles.  Based on the results of the researcher's review of the article (Agustina, 2021), the increase in student learning outcomes occurred because there were interaction activities between teachers and students which were implemented through the Think Pair Share type cooperative model. According to (Izzah & Qohar, 2020) the application of the Think Pair Share type cooperative model can improve understanding of algebra concepts, according to (Hartini, Maharani & Rahman, 2016) The application of the Think-Pair-Share Learning Model can improve Mathematical Communication Skills, so researchers can conclude that Think Pair Share type cooperative learning model in mathematics learning can solve various problems such as improving student learning outcomes, increasing learning achievement, can improve concept understanding abilities, improve mathematical problem solving abilities, improve communication skills students' mathematics and critical thinking.

Abstract

Students often face difficulties in understanding geometric concepts, particularly in the Pythagorean theorem as well as in plane and solid geometry, necessitating innovation in teaching methods. This study aims to examine the effect of problem-based mathematics learning using the Creative Visualization technique on improving the geometry skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Islam Wonopringgo, based on Van Hiele’s theory. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of two purposively selected classes: the experimental class, which received instruction using the Creative Visualization technique, and the control class, which followed conventional teaching. The research instrument was a geometry skills test based on Van Hiele's five levels of geometric thinking. The results showed a significant difference in the improvement of geometry skills between the two groups. Students in the experimental class showed more significant progress, particularly at the analysis and informal deduction levels. Thus, the Creative Visualization technique is proven to be effective in enhancing students’ geometry skills and can be considered an alternative method in geometry instruction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the types of errors in using substitution and partial integral techniques based on Newmann's Error Analysis. This research is a descriptive research. The subjects of this study were three 3rd semester students of the Tadris Mathematics Study Programme at Al-Bahjah Cirebon Islamic Religious College. The instruments used are 4 integral problems of substitution and partial techniques. The results showed that the stages of reading, Process Skill, Transformation, and Encoding errors occurred in the integral question of substitution and partial. This is because students do not understand the concepts of substitution and partial integrals, and cannot apply differential concepts.

Abstract

Mathematics learning often presents challenges for students because of its abstract and complex nature. As technology develops, the use of quiz-based learning platforms such as Quizizz has become increasingly popular as a solution to enhance student engagement and motivation. This study aims to systematically review the effectiveness of using Quizizz in mathematics education through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. In this study, 16 accredited articles discussing the application of Quizizz in mathematics learning were analyzed. The analysis results show that using Quizizz can increase student motivation, facilitate understanding of the material, and improve mathematics learning outcomes. However, implementing Quizizz requires careful preparation, especially in designing questions that align with the learning objectives. This article also discusses the challenges in applying Quizizz, such as limited devices and adequate internet connectivity. This study provides practical recommendations for teachers to design more effective and enjoyable mathematics learning by utilizing the Quizizz platform.
