Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a global health problem, due to its high frequency of occurrence and high risk of developing heart and blood vessel disease. One of the efforts or interventions to control high blood pressure in the community is to provide health education about controlling high blood pressure, and high blood pressure exercise to reduce blood pressure. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of providing health education and hypertension exercise in reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Methods: Pre-experimental with one-group pre-post test design. The sample in this study was an adult community with hypertension, a total of 42 respondents were taken using simple random sampling. The statistical test used a paired sample t test with a value of = 0.05. Results: 54.8% of public knowledge related to hypertension had increased, 50.0% of public attitudes related to hypertension had increased, 71.4% of people's blood pressure with hypertension had decreased and p value = 0.000. Conclusion: Health education and hypertension exercise can reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. It is expected that nurses can provide health education and teach hypertension exercise to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Introduction: The adverse drug reaction (ADR) is 4-7 times more common in elderly patients. That was also related to changes in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics that triggered the emergence of Drug-Related Problems. Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess ADR in elderly patients with chronic diseases using the GerontoNET Score and the Screening Tool of Older People's Prescriptions (STOPP) criteria. Methods: The research design used a cross-sectional study which was analyzed descriptively. The sample consisted of 72 patients, aged more than 60 years, accompanied by chronic diseases, and hospitalized at Waluyo Jati Kraksaan Hospital. The exclusion criteria were patients referred to the Intensive Care Unit. Assessment to see the risk of ADR in elderly patients with chronic diseases using the GerontoNet Score while the wrong type of drug is given to elderly patients using the STOPP criteria. The variables contained in the GerontoNET Score are comorbid conditions ³4 (score= 1), heart failure (score= 1), liver disease (score = 1), the number of drugs such as: £5 (score= 0); 6-7 (score=1); ³8 (score=4), history of ADR (score=2), kidney failure (score=1). Results: The variable with the most ADR risk factors was the number of drugs ³8 drugs as many as 47 patients (65.3%) with GerontoNET score ³4 as much as 70.8%. The types of drugs included in the STOPP criteria are clopidogrel, Arixtra (fondaparinux), beta-blockers, NSAIDs, and furosemide. Conclusion: The risk factor for ADR was the number of drugs ³8 drugs.

Abstract

Introduction: Perianesthesia nurses are health professionals with specific abilities to care, treat, assist and protect patients after undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. They work closely with anesthesiologists to manage and monitor patients before, during and after anaesthetic procedures. The conditions in this practice area have a confusing role in providing anesthetic management care to patients who are unable to help themselves in anesthesia, especially in perianesthesia. Therefore, it is very important to research the role of the anesthesiologist as a care provider for perianesthesia in the operating room. Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the role of anaesthetists as care providers for perianesthesia in the operating room. Methods: This is a descriptive exploratory research with a qualitative approach. This research consists of two stages; data collection in the first stage was carried out through in-depth interviews with anaesthetists working in the Wangaya General Hospital Denpasar operating room. In the second stage, we triangulated the data from anesthesiologists as decision-makers or doctors in charge of administering anesthesia to patients to ensure that the obtained data is consistent, convergent and valid. Qualitative data analysis is inductive; analysis is based on the obtained data, and then the data is searched repeatedly with triangulation techniques; the writing is done through narrative methods. Results: This study showed that anaesthetists at Wangaya Hospital with an educational background of Diploma III and Diploma IV Anaesthesia Nursing, and Diploma III Nursing with anaesthesiology training with Specialty Registrars, administer anaesthesia or become the care provider in pre-anaesthesia, intra-anaesthesia and post-anaesthesia based on scientific, and professional standards of anesthesiology. Conclusion : The anaesthetists can become care providers for perianesthesia in the operating room, which can be used as the first step by other researchers for further research on the effect of anaesthetic care in anaesthesia patient safety.

The results of this study were 53.5% of pregnant women in the third trimester aged 20-34 years, 52.49% of multigravida mothers, 74.5% of mothers with normal fetal position and 73.7% of mothers without post-date history.). Results: The results of bivariate analysis showed that the age factor indicated (p = 0.000), gravida (p = 0.000), fetal location (p = 0.000), post date history (p = 0.000). Significance value showed 0.000 < 0.050. Thus (X2 Count > X2 table) it is concluded that H0 is rejected. Conclusion: It is hoped that the results of community research are more selective in planning pregnancy programs and increasing the role of families in actively participating in the welfare of pregnant women and fetuses.

Abstract

Patients were commonly feel anxiety before surgical procedure. The anxiety caused by the lack of knowledge or experience in the surgical procedure or safety threats. Guided imagery was a therapy using imagination to overcome the anxiety. Most of the similar apps were provide in English. The aim of this study was to evaluate a mobile app ‘guided imagery in Indonesian (GIANESIA)’ for ease of providing therapy to patients. This study was a quantitative study using descriptive analytical. A total of 6 experts and 41 users were participated in this study. A consecutive sampling was used in this study by criteria inclusion. The experts were given a form to evaluate and users were given a modified questionnaire of system usability scale (SUS). The results shows 97.6% of users was satisfied using the app (mean+SD=83+15.69). All of experts were considered the language in therapy, the appearance of the app, the ease of use, and the content were good. The experts gave suggestions for unseen buttons, lack of information for scoring, unbalanced audio, and confusing in satisfaction message. This GIANESIA app was useful for users with total SUS score >68 which means this app can be used for wider audience. 83.3% of the experts also conclude high satisfaction score >68, so the app and the therapy deserves to be implemented in preoperative patients. This application can be the latest breakthrough to support nursing interventions to make it easier for Indonesia nurses to work. The application improvements need to be made for better quality.

Abstract

Introduction: Cholesterol was one part of fat as one of the nutrients that the body needs and a high calorie producer. Plants made from natural ingredients, for example, bay leaves contain high flavonoids and are hypolipidemic as well as antioxidants that can inhibit oxidative stress. Objective: This study aims to to determine the effectiveness of the ethanol extract of bay leaves (Syzygyum polyanthum) against male white rats wistar strain diabetes mellitus with hypercholesterolemia. Methode: The experimental animals used were male wistar rats induced with streptozotocin at a dose of 30mg/kg BW. The test animals were divided into six groups, each group consisted of 5 rats. Group (I) as a normal control were given standard feed and 0.5% Na CMC, group (II) was given 0.5% Na CMC as a negative control, group (III) was given simvastatin as a positive control, groups (IV) to (VI) were given ethanol extract of bay leaves with a certain dose namely 500mg/kg BW; 750mg/kg BW, and 1g/kg BW.The data obtained were analyzed using One Way Anova statistical test with 95% confidence level. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the p value < 0.005, which means that the ethanolic extract of bay leaf has an effect on cholesterol levels in diabetes mellitus male rats strain Wistar. The effective dose that gives the optimum effect is the ethanolic extract of bay leaf 1g/kgBW. Conclusion: The ethanol extract of bay leaf 1g/kg BW was able to provide optimum antihypercholesterol effects in diabetes mellitus male rats strain Wistar
