Abstract

This study explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into Arabic language education at Islamic higher education institutions, with a particular focus on the sociocultural dynamics, lecturer readiness, and challenges at Sties Khas Al Jaelani. Using a qualitative research design, the study conducted semi-structured interviews with 15 Arabic language lecturers to examine their perceptions of AI adoption, the cultural challenges encountered, and the opportunities AI presents for enhancing language learning. The findings reveal that although AI tools are viewed as potentially beneficial for personalized learning and improving student engagement, lecturers face significant barriers related to insufficient training, inadequate technological infrastructure, and concerns over AI's compatibility with traditional teaching methods and Islamic educational values. Sociocultural factors, particularly fears that AI may undermine the teacher-student relationship and the moral and ethical dimensions of Islamic education, were also found to influence AI adoption. Despite these challenges, lecturers recognized AI's potential to enhance Arabic language learning through personalized feedback and data-driven insights. This study highlights the importance of addressing both technical and cultural barriers to AI integration in Arabic language education within Islamic institutions and suggests that professional development programs and culturally sensitive AI tools are crucial for successful implementation.

Abstract

The message of da'wah serves as a strategic medium for conveying Islamic values to the broader community. However, the success of the da'wah message is largely determined by the ethical aspects that underlie it. This article aims to conceptually examine the ethical principles in delivering da'wah messages based on the Mabadi 'Asyarah approach developed by Dr. Tata Sukayat, supported by academic studies from UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Using a qualitative literature study method, this article finds that values such as honesty, compassion, wisdom, and humility (tawadhu) are essential elements in shaping an effective, inclusive, and sustainable da'wah message. Ethics are not merely complementary elements in da'wah but constitute the core foundation that determines the success and sustainability of Islamic communication. The theoretical implications of this study affirm the importance of integrating ethics into any contemporary da'wah strategy, while practically, this article recommends strengthening communication ethics education for today's preachers.

Abstract

The development of digital media has transformed Islamic da‘wah communication, requiring preachers to adapt rhetorical strategies to contemporary audiences, especially younger generations. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi’s rhetorical framework offers an important foundation for ethical, contextual, and persuasive da‘wah communication in the modern era. This article examines Yusuf Al-Qaradawi’s rhetorical concepts and their application in Hanan Attaki’s digital preaching. Using a qualitative approach that combines literature review and discourse analysis, the study finds that Hanan Attaki’s empathetic and narrative style aligns with Al-Qaradawi’s principles of hikmah (wisdom) and mau‘izhah hasanah (good advice). His approach effectively reaches younger audiences and underscores the importance of delivery methods and contextual understanding in contemporary da‘wah. The findings reveal that Hanan Attaki’s da‘wah style reflects Al-Qaradawi’s principles of ?ikmah (wisdom), mau‘izhah ?asanah (good advice), and dialogical communication. His narrative, emotional, and contextual approach effectively attracts urban Muslim youth and strengthens audience engagement in digital spaces. However, the study also identifies challenges related to message simplification and limited theological depth. The study concludes that Al-Qaradawi’s rhetorical framework remains highly relevant for contemporary digital da‘wah communication. The study recommends integrating Al-Qaradawi’s rhetorical framework into Islamic communication education and digital da‘wah literacy programs.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive and digitally connected business environment, companies no longer compete solely through product quality and pricing but also through their ability to communicate messages persuasively and emotionally. Modern business presentations require communication approaches that can build emotional connections with audiences. Storytelling has emerged as a strategic communication method considered effective because it makes messages easier to understand, remember, and emotionally internalize, especially in service industries that heavily rely on trust, such as Umrah and Hajj travel services. This study examines storytelling as a strategic communication method in modern business presentations, using a case study of PT Almira Berkah Abadi. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, and literature reviews. The findings reveal that storytelling enhances promotional effectiveness, builds emotional closeness, and strengthens public image and trust in the company. Inspirational stories, packaged relevantly and delivered through both live presentations and digital media, have proven effective in expanding message reach and encouraging consumer decisions to use the company’s services. This article provides theoretical and practical contributions for business professionals seeking to optimize storytelling as an impactful communication and marketing tool.

Abstract

The development of new media, particularly social media, has brought significant changes to modern human life, including in the political sphere. Social media serves not only as a means of communication but also as a strategic platform for women to enhance their political participation. In Indonesia, women's political rights have been guaranteed through various conventions and regulations; however, women's representation in political institutions continues to face structural, cultural, and historical obstacles. Women’s political participation is essential to the decision-making process, both directly and indirectly, as gender bias in public policy remains prevalent. From an Islamic perspective, women's political participation has a strong foundation, although scholars differ regarding the limits of such involvement. This study examines the evolution of women's political participation, its inhibiting factors, and the Islamic legal arguments concerning women's involvement in politics. The findings indicate that increasing women's political participation requires affirmative policy support, the dissemination of political education, and the use of social media as an effective empowerment tool.

Abstract

This article examines the educational reform ideas and movements of Ahmad Dahlan as an integral part of his Islamic da'wah mission. The study focuses on how Ahmad Dahlan formulated a modern education system that integrated Islamic values with the Western education system in response to the educational dualism prevalent during the colonial period. A qualitative-descriptive approach was employed. The findings show that Ahmad Dahlan not only purified Islamic teachings from irrelevant practices but also carried out reforms by establishing a progressive Islamic education system—despite initial opposition from many. He founded Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Diniyah Islamiyah in 1911 and established Muhammadiyah in 1912 as a vehicle for education-based da'wah. His innovations included an integrated curriculum combining religious and general sciences, systematic classical methods, and instilling exemplary values in teachers. Thus, for Ahmad Dahlan, education served as a strategic means of da'wah to educate, liberate, and advance the ummah spiritually and socially.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the humanistic da'wah approach employed by the Gemar Qur'an Community in the city of Bandung in targeting young people. Humanistic da'wah emphasizes aspects of humanity, empathy, dialogue, and empowerment, which align with the spiritual and psychological needs of today's young generation. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research conducted in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis to explore the strategies and impacts of humanistic da'wah applied in the Gemar Qur'an Community. The results indicate that the Gemar Qur'an Community has succeeded in creating an inclusive and transformative da'wah space by utilizing social media, Qur'anic mentoring, and a participatory emotional approach. This has positively impacted changes in religious behavior, increased interest in the Qur'an, and the formation of a spiritually strengthening community. This study recommends the replication of the humanistic approach in da'wah targeting young people across various other communities, as well as the need for synergy with educational and religious institutions.

Abstract

This research report presents a comprehensive analysis of the "Tepuk Sakinah" phenomenon, initiated by the Menteng Religious Affairs Office (KUA) and which became viral across various social media platforms between 2024 and 2025. Within the context of multiplatform journalism and evolving strategies in Islamic broadcasting communication, this phenomenon represents a fundamental shift in how state religious institutions engage with the digital public. This study employs a qualitative approach with an extensive literature review, integrating the STEPPS Framework for content virality, technological determinism, innovation diffusion theory, and cultural adaptation. The analysis highlights how content originating from Instagram Reels is transformed through TikTok's remix culture, amplified by online news portals, and ultimately triggers a national discourse on contemporary da'wah methods. The findings indicate that "Tepuk Sakinah" serves as an edutainment bridge, successfully breaking through rigid bureaucratic communication barriers and transforming passive audiences into active participants through User Generated Content (UGC). Nevertheless, this phenomenon has also sparked critical debates regarding the "infantilization of citizens" and the desacralization of marital values.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed various aspects of human life, including religious communication and da'wah activities. Traditional da'wah, which was predominantly conducted through physical pulpits in mosques and religious institutions, has increasingly shifted to digital platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This transformation creates both opportunities and challenges, particularly in navigating the overwhelming flow of digital information and misinformation. Therefore, this study aims to examine the transition of da'wah from the physical pulpit to the virtual world, identify innovations in digital da'wah practices, and formulate strategies for sustaining da'wah in the digital information vortex. This research employs a qualitative observational approach by analyzing digital da'wah practices across various social media platforms. Data were collected through observations of content formats, audience engagement patterns, and challenges encountered in digital religious communication. The findings reveal that digital media have significantly expanded the reach of da'wah, enabled interactive communication between preachers and audiences, and encouraged the adoption of innovative content formats such as short videos, podcasts, and live streaming. However, challenges such as misinformation, credibility issues, content verification difficulties, and algorithmic barriers remain significant concerns. The study concludes that the sustainability of digital da'wah depends on digital literacy, information verification, ethical communication practices, and adaptation to platform-specific characteristics. The research implies that religious institutions, preachers, and digital content creators should strengthen collaborative efforts, improve digital literacy competencies, and develop credible standards for online religious content to ensure the effectiveness and integrity of da'wah in the contemporary digital era.

Abstract

Pekalongan City has the largest fishing port on the island of Java, which has become a trading center, attracting many newcomers to settle in the area. The Javanese, Arab, and Chinese ethnicities live side by side in harmony and mutual tolerance. Given the uniqueness of Pekalongan's diverse community, this mini-research employs a qualitative method through a literature review of journals, books, and other relevant sources. This study aims to understand how multicultural da'wah methods are carried out by the Javanese, Arab, and Chinese Muslim ethnicities in Pekalongan City, as well as how the media approach using batik, the city's identity, is utilized. This research employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data were collected from academic books, journal articles, theses, official documents, and other relevant literature concerning multiculturalism, intercultural communication, and Islamic da'wah. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the methods of dakwah bil hal, dakwah bil lisan, and dakwah bil qalam are employed by these ethnic groups to invite others to Islamic teachings, alongside an intercultural da'wah approach using batik as a medium of da'wah. Multicultural da'wah in Pekalongan demonstrates that Islamic preaching can be effectively conducted within a diverse social setting by respecting cultural differences while maintaining Islamic values. The harmonious interaction among Javanese, Arab, and Chinese Muslim communities contributes significantly to the sustainability of religious tolerance and social cohesion.
