Abstract

The development of digital transformation has altered career development patterns in the modern workplace. Generation Z, as a new productive age group, possesses characteristics closely related to technology, social media, and personal branding culture. This study aims to analyze the implementation of personal branding in the career development of Generation Z employees within a professional workplace.  A qualitative approach with descriptive methods was employed. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving several Generation Z employees from service and digital creative sector companies. The results indicate that personal branding is an important strategy for building a professional identity, increasing self-confidence, expanding professional networks, and opening up career development opportunities. Professional social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram serve as the primary means for shaping the professional image of Gen Z employees. However, personal branding implementation also faces challenges, including digital identity consistency, social pressure, and the need to adapt to organizational culture. This study concludes that personal branding significantly contributes to supporting the career development of Generation Z employees in the digital era. Therefore, companies should provide support through self-development training and professional digital literacy.

Abstract

The SIPANDUK (Population Administration Service Information System) application is a digital service innovation developed by the Kuningan Regency Population and Civil Registration Office to make it easier for the public to process population documents online. The objective of this study is to assess the service quality of the SIPANDUK application, identify the obstacles hindering its implementation, and examine the efforts made to improve the quality of SIPANDUK services. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data sources such as observations, interviews, and documentation from key informants and supporting informants. The theory used is E-Service Quality by Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Malhotra (2005), which consists of seven dimensions (efficiency, system availability, fulfillment, privacy, responsiveness, compensation, and contact). The results of the study indicate that the SIPANDUK application is not yet optimal in the dimensions of efficiency, fulfillment, and compensation. The suboptimal efficiency is caused by the low level of public awareness regarding the application. In the fulfillment dimension, technical challenges remain, specifically regarding the limited features for user account recovery. Additionally, the lack of an official compensation mechanism has prevented the handling of user complaints from operating at full capacity. Meanwhile, the SIPANDUK application has achieved optimal performance in the dimensions of system availability, privacy, responsiveness, and contact. Efforts to improve service quality are being undertaken through increased public awareness of the application, the development of account recovery features, and the establishment of a clearer and more structured compensation mechanism.

Abstract

This article aims to analyse the cultural power, musical hybridity, and symbolic resistance emerging in performance practices at the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2025, through the interaction between global music industry networks and local musical traditions that represent Indonesia's cultural identity. This study employs a qualitative approach using document analysis and media discourse analysis of festival programmes, media reports, and promotional materials. The results show that cultural power is reflected in the curatorial structure, which places international artists at the centre of visibility, thereby shaping the symbolic hierarchy and aesthetic standards of performance. Musical hybridity emerges through the integration of traditional instruments, local rhythmic and melodic adaptations, and cross-cultural collaborations between Indonesian and international musicians, resulting in new musical expressions. Symbolic resistance is manifested through local musicians' strategies of displaying cultural identity by means of symbols, language, and tradition-based musical exploration. The findings also point to inherent tensions, whereby traditional elements tend to be adapted to global musical structures, carrying the potential for a simplification of meaning. Nevertheless, festivals remain dynamic spaces that allow for cultural negotiation and the articulation of local identities within the global music industry landscape. This research contributes by positioning music festivals as arenas for the production of cultural meaning through performance practices, and expands the study of international music festivals in Southeast Asia from the perspectives of cultural power, hybridity, and symbolic resistance.
