The rapid development of digital technology has increased the use of digital financial services, particularly paylater payment methods, which are widely used by Generation Z. The convenience of transactions offered by these services has the potential to influence personal financial management behavior. This study aims to examine the effects of paylater ease of use, impulsive buying, self-control, and financial literacy on the personal financial management behavior of Generation Z in Surakarta City. This research employs a quantitative associative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 150 Generation Z respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that paylater ease of use, impulsive buying, and self-control do not have a significant effect on personal financial management behavior. Meanwhile, financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on personal financial management behavior. This study emphasizes that financial literacy is the most important factor in shaping Generation Z’s personal financial management behavior amid the rapid growth of digital financial services.

Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected from 131 Generation Z respondents through an online questionnaire and analyzed using SEM-PLS with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that social media marketing and customer experience have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, while location shows no significant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables explain 56.5% of the variance in Generation Z loyalty. These findings highlight that digital engagement and positive customer experience are more influential than physical location in fostering loyalty among Generation Z consumers.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of integrating Islamic business ethics in the management of pesantren business units, considering that pesantren function not only as educational institutions but also as centers of economic empowerment that should serve as role models for sharia-compliant muamalah practices. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Islamic business ethics principles Tauhid, Tawazun, Hurriyah al-Iradah, and Mas’uliyah—on students’ purchase intention at the Student Cooperative of Pondok Modern Ar-Ridho Sentul. This study employed a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 50 student respondents, selected using purposive sampling from a total population of 553 students. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, as well as multiple linear regression analysis with T-test and F-test, assisted by SPSS 25 software. The results indicate that three variables of Islamic business ethics, namely Tauhid, Hurriyah al-Iradah, and Mas’uliyah, have a positive and significant effect on students’ purchase intention, while Tawazun shows no significant effect. Simultaneously, all four variables were found to influence purchase intention with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.884 or 88.4%, indicating that the majority of variations in students’ purchase intention can be explained by the application of these Islamic business ethics principles.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the influence of service quality and regulatory understanding on selection preference, with perceived value as a mediating variable in local financial institutions in Tamanbali Village. The background of this research is based on the importance of understanding customer behavior in determining their preferred financial institutions amid increasing competition among local financial service providers. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS 4) method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents who use local financial services in Tamanbali Village, including customers of LPD, BUMDes, and KDMP, with a total sample of 268 respondents. Validity and reliability tests, as well as structural model evaluations, were conducted to assess the strength of the relationships among the research variables. The results indicate that service quality has a positive and significant effect on selection preference, while regulatory understanding has a negative and significant effect on selection preference. Furthermore, perceived value positively and significantly affects selection preference. The mediation test confirms that perceived value significantly mediates the relationship between service quality and regulatory understanding on selection preference. Overall, the findings emphasize that perceived value is a dominant factor shaping customers’ preferences toward village financial institutions. These results are expected to provide theoretical contributions to the development of consumer behavior studies in financial services and practical insights for local financial institution managers in designing strategies to enhance customer value and trust.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of zakat as an economic instrument that can encourage household consumption, increase income equality, and support macroeconomic stability within the framework of Islamic economics. As a form of wealth redistribution, zakat has an important function in distributing part of the muzakki's wealth to the mustahiq, thereby strengthening the purchasing power of low-income groups who tend to have higher marginal consumption. This increase in consumption then contributes to aggregate demand growth and expands economic activity. In addition, zakat acts as an automatic stabilizer that maintains the consumption capacity of vulnerable communities during economic slowdowns, thereby reducing the risk of a decline in aggregate demand and maintaining overall economic stability. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach to examine various scientific sources related to zakat, consumption theory, and the concept of income distribution. The findings of the analysis show that the success of zakat as an economic instrument is greatly influenced by professional and transparent governance, as well as targeted distribution, particularly through productive zakat programs that encourage the independence of mustahiq. Zakat also has significant potential in strengthening the Islamic economic structure oriented towards justice through reducing inequality and improving community welfare. Thus, optimizing zakat management is a strategic effort to build an inclusive, sustainable economy that supports the empowerment of vulnerable groups.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of Regional Original Revenue (PAD), Balancing Funds (DP) consisting of the General Allocation Fund (DAU), Special Allocation Fund (DAK), and Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH), as well as the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the Human Development Index (HDI). The research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method aimed at explaining empirical phenomena supported by patterns of relationships among variables, characteristics, and statistical data. Secondary data in the form of time series data over 15 years (2010–2024) were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of the statistical analysis show that PAD and DP each have no positive and significant effect on HDI when tested partially. Meanwhile, GRDP has a positive and significant partial effect on HDI. However, simultaneously, the variables PAD (X1), DP (X2), and GRDP (X3), based on the F-test hypothesis, have a positive and significant effect on HDI. In other words, these three variables, both directly and indirectly, contribute jointly to the achievement of the HDI score in Sleman Regency during the study period. In 2024, Sleman’s HDI reached 84.91, classified as “Very High,” surpassing the HDI of Yogyakarta Special Region Province in 2024, which was 81.62 (“Very High”), and the national HDI of 75.02 (“High”), an achievement truly worthy of appreciation.
