Abstract

Arabic language has a very important role for Muslims, not only become the religious language (Al-Quran) but also a subject to be developed through curriculum development. Especially in developing the character-based curriculum where the children's moral is decline while the demands always grow. So, it is urgent to make the students’ quality by global standards. The research adjective is to describe how to develop the Arabic language curriculum in line with students’ character building. This is qualitative research that emphasizes the natural phenomenon of the object, that is the Arabic Curriculum Development at MIN 1 Tulungagung, the teacher role in applying the Arabic curriculum and carrying out the curriculum evaluation in the school. The efforts of curriculum development at MIN 1 Tulungagung are (1) Arabic-language routine activities, (2) Exemplary teachers and school staffs, and (3) Creating a good Arabic-speaking environment. The results of the study show that character-based Arabic curriculum development is carried out through: the integration of character values with Arabic subjects, self-development programs, building the values and ethics systems in schools, implementing the values and ethics in learning Arabic, applying various approaches, methods, and strategies.

Abstract

This article is motivated by the writer's admiration for the pearl of HOS Tjokroaminoto's thoughts in the field of education. The concept of education that he initiated during the pre-independence era was almost unreadable by the present generation, even though the sparkle of his thought in education was still relevant, actualized in the current era, especially among Muslims. Non-discriminatory education that distinguishes social classes, poor and rich, the nobility and the proletariat is strongly opposed and opposed. This kind of education is now appearing in a new form of superior schools, model schools that in practice only bear cubs can enter it, while poor people cannot go to school. On the basis of these problems, this paper will answer a) what is the concept of Tjokroaminoto's version of socialist education? b) how relevant is it to Islamic education? This study includes library research that focuses on texts that have to do with the problem under study. The results of this study, education must be populist, socialist, non-discriminatory, there is no dichotomy of religious knowledge and general knowledge and all knowledge must be based on monotheistic values.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of school culture on teacher performance and the effect of teacher work motivation on teacher performance. This type of research is a qualitative research sourced from existing theories and previous research journals that are relevant to the variables in this study. The results showed that school culture had a positive effect on teacher performance, teacher work motivation had a positive effect on teacher performance.

Abstract

The application of character education is currently only needed in schools, at home and in the community. Now these are not only early children, but also children in adulthood. The process of fostering student personality able to done in many ways, including them culture system of character education applications provided by the social environment that has a primary focus on shaping student character. School culture as an application of the formation of character among them is the character of religion, discipline, communicative, social care, patriotism, preparation and democracy.

Abstract

Leadership basically deals with the skills, abilities, and level of influence a person has; so that he is able to influence others to jointly carry out certain activities to achieve certain goals. The difference between managers and leaders in general is that a manager only deals with objects, structures, systems and efficiency. Whereas a leader deals with effectiveness, people, empowering and channeling the potential possessed by others. An important factor that determines employee performance is leadership. Because Leadership describes the relationship between the leader and the leader & how a leader directs followers will determine how far the follower reaches the leader's goals or expectations.

Abstract

Pesantren has flourished long before the formal educational institutions established in Indonesia. Thus, it has great contribution to the development of this nation. Pesantren as Indonesian indigenous educational system plays important role in enculturation process to shape the positive qualities of culture among generation to generation. As the islamic religius educational institution, it is administrated by kyai as the central figure who has high religius esoteric knowledge and standard of moral and ethics. In pesantren, santri has been taught to rcognise the values of plurality, equality, tolerance and hold in high esteem of humanity based on the basic teaching and ideas of ahlus sunnah wal jama’ah paradigm. And as a sub-culture, pesantren also has firm bearing with local and indonesian culture. It means that pesantren has to formulate itself to civilize the locals as its real potention to maintain the indonesian noble culture.
