Abstract

The Kuanino area in Kupang City is an area that is dense with goods and services trading activities. The ease of access to this area is supported by various existing transportation infrastructure facilities. One thing of concern is access to pedestrian infrastructure, which often gets the last priority in the development of road transport infrastructure. Pedestrian facilities can be said to be good if they meet technical planning standards that accommodate all levels of society, including people with disabilities. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the fulfillment of existing pedestrian facilities to the minimum technical service standards based on applicable regulations and guidelines. The research method uses an evaluation of the existing condition of pedestrian facilities against the standard criteria for pedestrian facilities. 03/PRT/M/2014. The results of the study show that the safety aspects (height differences and guiding tiles for people with disabilities), accessibility (disruption to the sidewalk), connectivity (crossing facilities) and support still do not meet the technical standard criteria, so it is necessary to improve pedestrian facilities on Jl. Gen. Sudirman (Kuanino) based on the 3E model, namely engineering, education and enforcement.

Abstract

The San Juan Road is one of the vehicle routes to El Tari airport and the Navy Airfield (LANUDAL) which also connects the intersection to the Widya Mandira Catholic University (UNWIRA) campus area. On these roads, there is often a choice of speed that is not in accordance with the function of the road so that it can endanger road users. The spot speed model is used to determine the actual speed at the study site, where the 85th percentile speed is used to determine the maximum speed which is then used to analyze accident risk for traffic conditions and roadside friction in the study location. From the research results, it is known that the actual speed is 31.66 km/hour for motorcycles, 20.16 km/hour for light vehicles and 16.79 km/hour for heavy vehicles. Theoretically, the speed is in accordance with the local road function classification, which is less than 40 km/hour. The 85th percentile speed is 26 - 30 km/h. However, due to fluctuations in the flow of vehicles entering/exiting gateways during peak hours and the aggressive behavior of road users, it was noted that there were 9 conflicts in the medium category due to the choice of critical crossing gaps for motorcyclists. The recommended solution is the installation of speed limit signs and prioritizing movement at unsignalized intersection areas, and socializing travel safety.

Abstract

The linear and nonlinear response of two buildings with one degree of freedom (DOF) respectively vibration period (T) 0.4 second and 0.5 second are becoming the models of this research. The earthquake record of Loma Prieta 1989 is selected and customized with the spectrum response curve Ss = 1.25g and S1 = 0.4g with the medium ground (SD). The spring of building structure modelled as linear and nonlinear spring of Takeda model that has been modified. The important results of this research are: first, the direct addition method is only used to determine time of collision and not adequate to determine seismic separation. Second, the ultimate method or the transform method to calculate elastic deformation multiplied Cd/Ie is only used when the building does not have large inelastic deformation. Third, the pattern transformation of building response after inelastic phase could be significantly and bear the opportunity of both building collision.

Abstract

Erosion is an event of the transport of soil or parts of the soil from one place to another by natural media. The natural media that plays a role are water and wind erosion causing the loss of the soil layer which can reduce the ability of the soil to absorb and hold rainwater that falls on the ground. (Rauf.A, 2011). The erosion process can be viewed from three successive processes, namely detachment, transportation, and sedimentation (Suripin, 2002). The three stages of erosion are the stage of release from the soil mass, the stage of transport by erosive media such as water flow and wind, and the stage of deposition which occurs under conditions of weakened flow. Erosion can also be called erosion or peeling which is a process of washing away by the forces of water and wind, both occurring naturally or as a result of human actions. Another understanding also states that erosion is the loss of parts of the land that move due to water or wind from one place to another. From the definition of erosion above, it can be concluded that erosion is a process of loss or peeling of the earth's top soil due to natural factors and organisms. The Noelmina River Basin is located between Kupang Regency and TTS Regency. 40 km. Using the Usle method, the rainfall erosivity value (R) = 824.88, with the most dominant slope 26-40% with an S value of 0.26, the dominant soil type is Litoshol with a K value of 0.075. From the values above, it is known that the amount of erosion that occurs is 524.24 tons per year.

Abstract

Structural analysis is intended to impose structural response to weight. One method of structural analysis is stiffness method. Understanding of stiffness is primarily done by using simple structural examples. The size of the structure in calculations is always represented by the large number of linkage and the element of the rod so that the use of the computer and the application of the accounting must correspond to the modeled structure model. One of the popular applications used in performing structural calculations is ms excel. The goal for the study is to create an alternative ms-oriented structural analysis aid and to make comparisons of calculation with other output applications already on the market. Excel - oriented stiffness calculation makes a tabbing of analysis of which the physical form of Numbers can be clearly displayed and that can be examined at a theoretical level of analysis. The transparent process of accounting increases trust in the results so that it can be used in education and as a comparison to the output of other applications. The calculating space truss with alternative aid programs and the SAP 2000 application program, provides a very small difference so that it can be deduced that an alternative assistive program output can be used.

Abstract

Cone Penetration Test (CPT) or sondir is a method designed to determine and test the strength of the soil layer. This sondir test has been carried out in Tunfeu Village, Nekamese District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara to determine the resulting bearing capacity and determine the type of foundation that is suitable for the research location point. The soil investigation method is carried out by direct testing in the field using a sondir tool. Secondary data were obtained from several literature studies. Primary data obtained from sondir results at three predetermined location points. Data analysis used two parameters at each depth, namely the Conus Resistance Value (qc) in kg/cm2, and the total shear value (Tf) in kg/cm units. The two parameters above were recorded for every 20 cm interval where at point 1 the value of qc ³ 245 kg/cm2 is obtained at a depth of –11.60 m with a Tf 337.33 kg/cm. At point 2 the value of qc ³ 225 kg/cm2 is obtained at a depth of –21.20 m with a Tf 394 kg/cm. While at point 3 the value of qc ³ 235 kg/cm2 is obtained at a depth of –19.60 m with a Tf 548.67 kg/cm. Based on the results of the sondir above, the type of foundation that is suitable for the soil conditions in Tunfeu Village is a pile or deep foundation (bored pile).

Abstract

Management of on-street and off-street parking is important in controlling traffic so that congestion, pollution, noise can be reduced, and in turn it can improve environmental quality standards, the quality of pedestrians and cyclists movement (Hobbs, 1995) . One of the cases that hinders traffic flow and reduces the level of road service on Jalan Cak Doko is the presence of many public facilities such as offices, restaurants and shops in the area. This study aims to examine road performance on the Cak Doko street section. Analysis using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual method shows that the performance of the road segment is poor, with a degree of saturation for the existing condition of 0.77 and for the no-parking condition of 0.72. The LoS value for existing conditions reaches 0.77 (Category E) where the traffic volume approaches or is at an unstable flow capacity and sometimes stops. And LoS for no parking conditions is 0.72 (Category D) where the flow is approaching unstable, the speed is still controlled and the Q/C level is still acceptable. The dominant cases that contribute to traffic congestion and reduce the level of road service are on-street parking activities. In order to improve road performance, one aspect of improvement is the management of on-street parking activities.

Abstract

Road damage in general is a condition of road buildings that do not function both from a technical point of view, benefits, and safety. Road damage is one of the factors causing traffic jams and accidents. This study aims to determine the pattern of road handling based on the functional condition of the road on the Kupang urban collector road. The identification of the damage conditions is carried out using the SDI formula wherein the damage conditions are determined by the level of road damage on each of the observed roads. Furthermore, based on the level of road damage, a road handling strategy is determined. In this case, because the quality of accessibility and mobility services between regions is affected by not only physical connectivity but also functional aspects, to facilitate the process of identifying the service performance of the collector road network, a road functional condition mapping model is used. The results of the mapping clearly show which segments and/or parts of the road are damaged and have an impact on the smoothness and safety of inter-regional travel. That's why QGIS is used for the mapping. The results showed that in the Maulafa sub-district, out of a total of 17 sections in the region, there were 6 roads that had to be repaired. The implication of the results of this study is that the results of the mapping of the functional condition of the road not only allow openness and at the same time ease of access, but also facilitate the preparation of programs for handling road damage and the provision of a budget for its management. Therefore, in the future this model needs to be developed through the use of WebGIS-based applications and by involving community participation in the aspect of supplying road condition data.

Abstract

The hydrological model is a simplification of the complexity of a real-world hydrological system of a watershed. Since 1890, various hydrological models have been developed to assist decision makers in formulating watershed management scenarios. This study examines nine hydrological models through a literature review. The nine models are HydroOffice BFI+, HEC-HMS, HEC-SSP, EPA-WMOST, EPA-AGWA, EPA-SWMM, AGNPS, ANSWERS, and ANFIS. The results of the study are briefly explained as follows. Flood analysis could apply one of the tools namely HEC-HMS, AGWA, SWMM, AGNPS, ANSWERS, and ANFIS. However, certain flood analysis programs need to be combined with GIS and HEC-SSP to get an adequate analysis. Baseflow separation analysis could use BFI+ with the daily rainfall as input data. Analysis of the rate of erosion and sedimentation could apply AGWA, AGNPS, ANSWERS. The HEC-SSP model provides assistance in correcting incomplete and inconsistent data. In terms of water resource management on a watershed scale, the WMOST and AGNPS models can be used. However, some types of models have limitations. Therefore, in applying the model, it is necessary to combine several models to get optimal results. In addition, the results of the hydrological model analysis need to be confirmed by field measurements

Abstract

In structural planning, planners often choose a uniform landscape across a stretch of structure. But sometimes for certain certain contour selection of non-prismatic views, it is necessary to analyze the rigour matrix on the non-prismatic beam to make it easier and faster for calculations in structural analysis. The prismatic beam viewer selected in this study is a simple beam at one long landscape but has a distinct geometric form and type of material. The results of this study are the results of the rigour structure for a non-prismatic beam affected by the value of modulus elasticity that describes the type of material, as well as the broad and long landscape that describes the geometry of a non-prismatic beam viewer.
