Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of amanah ethics in the Prophet’s ﷺ hadiths and its relevance to the phenomenon of digital corruption that is developing in the era of information technology. By using a qualitative approach and the thematic (maudhu‘i) analysis method, this study collects, classifies, and interprets hadiths related to the themes of amanah, betrayal (khianat), and misappropriation (ghulul) through the examination of various canonical hadith books. The analysis is carried out through three stages: first, determining the main theme, namely amanah from the perspective of hadith; second, interpreting the content of the hadiths using the Islamic social ethics approach; and third, contextualizing the values of amanah toward the forms of digital corruption, including the misuse of system access, electronic data manipulation, digital gratification, and structural incompetence in technological governance. The findings of the study show that the teachings of amanah in the hadiths have strong and multidimensional relevance in preventing the moral-social damage caused by digital corruption. Values such as justice (‘adālah), responsibility (mas’ūliyyah), and the prevention of harm (sadd al-dzarī‘ah) serve as important ethical foundations for building digital governance that is transparent and full of integrity.

Abstract

This study aims to highlights the concept of an Islamic educational environment as reflected in the hadith  of the Prophet Muhammad SAW on learning together (ta’allum jama’i), as narrated by Imam Muslim. The values contained in these hadith, such as angelic protection, abundant mercy, inner peace (sakinah), and glory in the sight of Allah, are  key indicators learning climate. This study uses  a qualitative approach through library research by examining various scientific sources, hadith books, and relevant Islamic educational literature. The results of the study show that applying the principles of hadith in an educational environment can create a collaborative, loving, and worship oriented learning atmosphere. Such an environment plays a role in fostering student’s character to be noble, disciplined, and highly spiritually aware. In addition, the hadith also provides practical guidance for educators in creating a conducive and calming learning atmosphere, as well as protecting students from the negative influences of globalization and moral hadith values in the management of the islamic educational environment not only strengthens the scientific dimension but  also fostered a balance between reason, heart, and faith as the main foundation of education oriented towards the formation of perfect individuals, namely individuals who are knowledgeable, faithful, and noble, who are able to face global challenges based on strong Islamic values.

Abstract

This study examines the ethical behavior of Generation Z students in posting comments in digital spaces through the perspective of hadith, focusing on the values of amanah (trustworthiness) and husnudzon (positive presumption). The purpose of this research is to analyze how these two moral principles are understood and implemented in digital communication, particularly when responding to various types of content on social media. Using a qualitative descriptive method supported by library research, this study explores hadiths related to communication ethics, scholarly literature, and contemporary findings on digital ethics. The results indicate a significant gap between students’ ethical awareness and their actual commenting practices. Although they understand the importance of responsible communication, students often post impulsive comments without adequate verification. The analysis also reveals that integrating the values of amanah and husnudzon can shape more constructive digital interactions by encouraging information verification, reducing negative assumptions, and promoting polite communication. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening these prophetic values in fostering ethical digital behavior among Generation Z.

Abstract

This study examines in depth the responsibilities of educators and students in the perspective of the hadith narrated by Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Ash, which explains that the loss of knowledge can occur not because it is directly revoked, but because of the death of scholars, causing society to lose a source of authentic law. The weakening of commitment, morals, and manners is a major problem in this study, which has an impact on the decline in the quality of knowledge in Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the meaning of the obligation to learn and teach as a mandate that must be upheld by both parties so that knowledge can maintain its blessings and authority. The method used is a qualitative method through a literature study by examining hadith, classical literature, and contemporary research. The results of the study show that educators have the responsibility to convey knowledge correctly, honestly, and to be role models, while students are responsible for seeking knowledge earnestly, maintaining manners, and practicing knowledge consistently. Further analysis reveals that negligence on the part of either party can lead to the emergence of uneducated leaders who give guidance without a valid basis or law.

Abstract

This study examines the stages of education from the perspective of prophetic teachings that emphasize a gradual and developmentally appropriate approach to nurturing children. The core issue addressed in this research is the need for an educational framework that aligns intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth with the natural phases of human development. The study aims to explore how the prophetic guidance regarding the command to perform prayer at specific ages reflects a structured model of education that corresponds to children’s cognitive and emotional readiness. Using a qualitative method with a literature-based approach, this research analyzes classical texts, contemporary scholarly works, and educational theories to construct a comprehensive understanding of the stages of learning in early Islamic tradition. The findings reveal that education in this perspective unfolds through four interconnected phases: the stage of value internalization through exemplary behavior, the stage of habituation and comprehension, the stage of reinforcement through discipline, and the stage of independence and spiritual awareness. These phases illustrate an educational process that progresses from imitation to conscious practice and moral responsibility. The study concludes that the prophetic model presents a holistic and sustainable educational framework that harmonizes spiritual formation with psychological development, offering valuable insights for modern educational systems seeking to cultivate individuals who are intellectually capable, morally grounded, and spiritually conscious.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the 21st century has given rise to the phenomenon of cyberbullying as a form of digital-based violence that has serious impacts on the honor and psychological health of individuals. Although this term is relatively new, its moral substance is closely related to the prohibitions on backbiting, namimah, istihzā’, and revealing shame in the Prophet's hadith. The urgency of this research lies in the need to formulate a normative basis for hadith that is relevant in responding to the ethical problems of contemporary digital communication. This research aims to analyze hadiths on the protection of honor and the prohibition of revealing shame and reconstruct them as the foundation of Islamic digital ethics. This research is a library research study with a hadith science approach through the stages of takhrij, sanad criticism, and thematic analysis of matan (maudhu‘i), and uses the maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah framework, especially the principle of ḥifẓ al-‘irḍ. The results of this study indicate that the hadith not only prohibits insults and exposure of shame in traditional social contexts, but also provides normative principles that can be actualized in the digital space, including prohibitions on doxing, the unauthorized distribution of private content, and derogatory speech on social media. This study contributes to strengthening the study of hadith dirayah in the contemporary context by offering a synthesis between the methodology of hadith criticism and the reconstruction of digital communication ethics based on maqāṣid.

Abstract

This article examines the principles of leadership in the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and their relevance to modern governance. The study focuses on the hadith prohibiting the seeking of leadership positions as recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sunan al-Tirmidhi, as well as the hadith concerning the entrustment of authority to those who are unqualified. Using a library research approach with thematic (mawḍūʿī) analysis, this article explores the normative and contextual meanings of these hadiths. The findings indicate that these traditions contain fundamental principles of Islamic leadership, including: leadership as a divine trust (amānah), the necessity of competence and eligibility (ahliyyah), moral integrity (ṣidq and ʿadālah), rejection of ambition for power, belief in divine assistance for sincere leaders, prioritization of public welfare (maṣlaḥah) over rigid formalism, and accountability (masʾūliyyah). In the hadith perspective, leadership is not a privilege to be pursued, but a heavy trust for which one will be held accountable before both God and society. In the context of modern governance, these principles remain highly relevant, particularly in addressing public trust crises, nepotism, abuse of authority, and weak integrity among public officials.

Abstract

This study discusses the prophetic hadith reported in Musnad Ahmad no. 3038 about two blessings that are often neglected by people: health and free time. The research aims to analyze the theological meaning of the hadith and its relevance to contemporary social life. The method used is qualitative library research by examining classical Islamic texts and recent academic studies related to health awareness and time management in Islamic perspective. The results show that health and free time are not merely natural conditions but divine trusts that must be utilized responsibly. Many individuals tend to waste their free time on unproductive activities and neglect their health until illness appears. Such behavior reflects a lack of gratitude and awareness of life purpose. Islam encourages believers to maintain physical and spiritual health, use leisure time for beneficial activities, and improve self-quality through worship, knowledge, and social contribution. Therefore, understanding this hadith is expected to build awareness so that health and leisure become means for achieving meaningful and balanced life in both worldly and spiritual dimensions.

Abstract

Democracy is a political system that places sovereignty in the hands of the people and emphasizes the principles of equality, justice, participation, and respect for human rights. Although the concept of democracy developed within the Western tradition, its fundamental values have long been present in Islamic teachings, both in the Qur’an and the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This article aims to examine issues of democracy from the perspective of hadith by exploring democratic principles contained therein, such as consultation (shūrā), justice (‘adālah), equality (musāwāh), trust (amānah), as well as the recognition and protection of human rights. This study is a library-based research employing a qualitative approach, using primary sources in the form of major hadith collections such as Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Jāmi‘ al-Tirmiżī, and Musnad Aḥmad, along with secondary sources including books and scholarly journals relevant to democracy and Islamic political thought. Data analysis is conducted using descriptive-analytical methods and a thematic (maudū‘ī) approach. The findings indicate that the leadership practices of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the teachings found in hadith embody democratic values that are ethical and substantive in nature, even though they are not always terminologically identical to modern democratic concepts. Principles of consultation, social justice, leadership accountability, and respect for human dignity constitute an important foundation for building a just and prosperous society. Therefore, the hadiths of the Prophet (peace be upon him) can serve as a normative basis for developing a form of democracy rooted in Islamic values and relevant to the context of nationhood and statehood in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the rhetorical dimensions (balaghah ) of the first hadith in Imam al-Nawawi's Arba'in, namely the hadith on intention (niyyah) "Innama al-a'malu bi al-niyyat." Using a descriptive-analytical method grounded in a linguistic and theological approach, this research analyzes the stylistic features of the hadith text, including its syntactic structure (nahwu), lexical choices (bayan), and the rhetorical devices embedded therein (badi'). Drawing on recent scholarship in Arabic rhetoric, the study finds that the use of the particle "innama" as a tool of restriction (qasr) plays a central role in conferring exclusive meaning upon intention, while the plural form "a'mal" signals the universality of the ruling. The hadith's rhetorical compactness (jawami' al-kalim) is consistent with prophetic eloquence. Theologically, these rhetorical choices underpin the Islamic jurisprudential principle that deeds are validated solely by intention, with profound implications for Islamic ethics, worship, and legal theory (usul al-fiqh). This study contributes to the development of hadith linguistic studies and enriches the discourse on the intersection of Arabic rhetoric and Islamic theology.
