Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socio-communal mechanisms that support meditation practice consistency and relate them to the concept of Kalyāṇamitta. A qualitative approach with a single-case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six active practitioners (45–60 minutes each), participant observation over 12 sessions (January–March 2026), and community documentation. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis (Braun), supported by source triangulation (practitioners, monastic administrators, and community records) and methodological triangulation (interviews, observation, and documentation). The findings reveal three key mechanisms: (1) structural accountability through scheduled practice and social expectations, (2) shared narratives that strengthen the meaning of practice, and (3) positive emotional contagion that enhances attachment and engagement. The conclusion shows that practice consistency is determined more by social networks than by individual motivation, in line with the concept of Kalyāṇamitta in the Upaddha Sutta (Saṃyutta Nikāya 45.2), and provides implications for the development of community-based models for meditation practice and training in the context of spiritual education.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the meaning of perfectionism in individuals with melancholic personalities in the context of higher education. The study used a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods to explore the subjective experiences of participants. Research subjects were selected using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of individuals with melancholic personality tendencies and currently studying at university. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results show that perfectionism is interpreted as an internal drive to achieve high standards while also being a source of psychological stress. Perfectionism manifests itself in the form of a desire to produce the best results, repeated revisions, and sensitivity to academic assessments. On the other hand, perfectionism also has negative impacts such as overthinking, mental fatigue, and self-dissatisfaction in the learning process. These findings indicate that perfectionism in melancholic individuals in higher education environments is complex, serving as both motivation and a source of stress. Therefore, self-management skills and support from educators and guidance and counseling services in higher education are needed so that perfectionism can become a constructive drive without disrupting students' psychological well-being.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has significantly influenced the field of education, particularly in the use of interactive learning media. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of AI-based learning media on students’ learning outcomes using a literature review method. Data were obtained from various journals and previous studies discussing the implementation of AI in education. The findings indicate that AI is effective as a learning medium because it can improve learning motivation, student skills, teacher competence, and the overall quality of the learning process. Various AI-based media such as Canva AI, AI interactive videos, AI Puzzle Maker, AI-assisted 3D animation videos, and AI-based digital learning platforms have proven to create more interactive, personalized, adaptive, and engaging learning experiences. In addition to improving learning outcomes, AI also helps teachers prepare learning materials more effectively and efficiently. However, the implementation of AI still faces several challenges, including limited infrastructure, low digital literacy among teachers, ethical and privacy concerns, and unequal access to technology. Therefore, educational policy support, infrastructure improvement, and AI training for educators are needed to optimize the implementation of AI in learning.
