Abstract

According to WHO, diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by increased levels of glucose in the blood (causing hyperglycemia), there are disorders of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism caused by damage to insulin (insulin resistance), and as a result the production and performance of insulin does not work properly. If this increase in blood glucose levels lasts for a long time and is not treated properly, this can cause complications, namely neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, cardiovascular disease, diabetic nephropathy and diabetic ulcers. Diabetic ulcers are a complication that is difficult to treat because it is difficult for oxygen dan white blood cells to reach the tissue. One of the causes of diabetic ulcers is decreased peripheral circulation which is greatly influenced by high blood glucose levels and is closely related to peripheral arterial disease. This research aim to study and understand in depth nursing care for patients with diabetic ulcers. On the first day the patient still complained of pain but on the second day the pain began to decrease and on the third day the pain began to disappear. The patient also said that if the head hurts, the patient does deep breathing relaxation techniques and this reduces the pain quite a bit. From the results of the nursing care that has been provided and the interventions that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the deep breathing relaxation technique is effective in reducing pain. Abstract

One of the surgical procedures for patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP). This procedure often causes postoperative pain in the lower abdominal area or around the pubic symphysis. Benson relaxation technique is a non-pharmacological pain management approach that helps alleviate mental and physical tension as well as stress, thereby increasing pain tolerance. This study aims to determine the effect of the Benson relaxation technique in reducing acute pain in postoperative patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) at Waled Regional General Hospital, Cirebon Regency. The study employed a case study design with a nursing process approach on one respondent who underwent TURP surgery one day earlier due to BPH. Benson relaxation therapy was administered on the second to fourth postoperative days. Pain was assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and qualitative pain evaluation. The study was conducted in December 2023. By the fourth postoperative day, the patient reported mild pain characterized by a stabbing sensation around the surgical wound in the abdomen. The pain was intermittent, particularly when getting out of bed, moving, or engaging in physical activity. The pain scale was 3, and the patient appeared calm and relaxed, with a pulse rate of 84 beats per minute and a respiratory rate of 18 breaths per minute during activities without supplemental oxygen. Continuous application of the Benson relaxation technique can serve as a complementary intervention to reduce acute pain in postoperative TURP patients due to BPH.

Abstract

The development of digital health has encouraged the implementation of telemedicine as a solution to improve healthcare access in Indonesia. Supported by regulations such as Law No. 17 of 2023, Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024, and Minister of Health Regulation No. 20 of 2019, telemedicine plays a crucial role in enhancing technology-based healthcare services. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of telemedicine policies in improving healthcare access and service quality, as well as to identify key challenges related to regulations, infrastructure, and patient data protection. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using fifteen primary references focusing on digital health regulations, telemedicine service implementation, and patient data security in Indonesia. The findings indicate that telemedicine has successfully expanded healthcare access, yet continues to face barriers in regulatory standardization, infrastructure readiness, and data protection. It is concluded that telemedicine policies should be strengthened through clearer regulations, improved digital infrastructure, and integration of health technology services to ensure equitable and high-quality healthcare for the Indonesian population.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) remain significant global public health problems, particularly among adolescents who are vulnerable due to psychosocial and behavioral factors. This study aims to review the influence of health education on adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward HIV/AIDS and to identify factors affecting prevention efforts. This research employed a literature review approach by analyzing scientific articles published between 2017 and 2025 obtained from Google Scholar, ProQuest, and Semantic Scholar. Articles were selected based on relevance to adolescent populations, HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitudes, stigma, and health education interventions. The findings indicate that health education consistently improves adolescents’ knowledge and fosters more positive attitudes toward HIV/AIDS prevention. Adequate knowledge is associated with reduced stigma and safer behaviors. Individual characteristics such as age, education level, gender, and sources of information, as well as environmental and social support factors, significantly influence knowledge and attitudes. Peer education, interpersonal communication, and adolescent empowerment programs are shown to be effective strategies. In conclusion, health education plays a vital role in HIV/AIDS prevention among adolescents. Effective programs should be tailored to demographic and social contexts, emphasize participatory approaches, and integrate peer support to promote sustainable behavioral change.
