Mathematical communication is a basic ability that every students should have in learning. But the reality students’ mathematical communication in class VIII SMP N 11 Padang were still low, so that it needed to be improved. The teachers inclined use teacher centered learning. To solve this problem, teacher needed to apply a learning method that could facilitate the students in understanding the material and to build their knowledge. Learning method that appropriated was learning cycle 5E. Type of this research was quasi-experiment with Static Group Design. Based on data analysis that using the t-test, it is obtained P-value = 0.012< α = 0.05, it can conclude that students’ mathematical communication ability by using Learning Cycle 5E is better than the students that learn by using conventional learning.Keywords - conventional learning, learning cycle 5e, mathematical communication

Numerical critical thinking capacity is one of capacities that is supposed to be grow ideally for students. Nonetheless, numerical critical thinking capacity of understudies in eighth grade at MTsM Saning Bakar is still low. One of the learning approach that can take care of this issue is Probelm Based Learning approach.The points of this exploration isto know whether numerical critical thinking capacity of understudies who concentrate by Probelm Based Learning approach is superior to customary learning in eighth grade at MTsM Saning Bakar. The sort of this exploration was semi eksperiment with static grup plan. The examples of this exploration was the understudies at class VIII.B and class VIII.C. Understanding of mathematical concepts is one of the objectives of learning mathematics that must be possessed by students. However, the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII students at SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang is still low. One of the efforts that can be made to increase students' understanding of mathematical concepts is by applying the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model. This study aims to analyze and compare the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn using the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model better than those who learn using direct learning in class VIII SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang. This type of research is quasy experiment with the research design is Static Group Design. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang who were enrolled in the 2022/2023 school year. The sample in this study was determined using the Simple Random Sampling technique with class VIII.3 as the experimental class and class VIII.2 as the control class. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using the Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and t test. Based on the results of the analysis of mathematical concept understanding tests with a significant level of α = 0.05, P - value = 0.001 is obtained because P - value < α then rejects . This shows that students' understanding of mathematical concepts who learn using the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model is better than those who learn using the direct learning model in class VIII SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang.Keywords —Understanding of mathematical concept, Numbered Heads Together, Direct Learning.

The aims of this research is to increase understanding of mathematical concepts. In fact, in eight grade MTsN Tanjung Barulak showed that mathematics learning process was still not able to improve students’ understanding of mathematical concepts optimally.It happened because students were’nt really involved in teaching and learning process. One of solutions that couldbe done to increase the students' concepts understandingwasby implementing cooperative learning model of Numbered HeadsTogether (NHT).Type of this research was quasi-experimental with Static Group Design. The samples of this research were class VIII.3 and VIII.2. Instrument of research wasfinal test. Analysis of final test indicates that students’ understanding of mathematical concepts who study by using NHT model is better than using conventional learning. This research aims to develop an e-module with contextual problems in ratio material for class VII SMP that meets valid and practical criteria. The type of research used is design research type development studies with the Plomp development model which consists of a preliminary analysis, the development stage. The research was conducted at SMPN 15 Padang with the research subjects being students of class VII.1 A and class VII.1 B. This research of data type is primary data, consisting of qualitative data and quantitative data. The data collection instruments were interview guidelines, validity instruments, and practicality instruments. The data obtained were then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that the e-module with contextual problems developed was valid and practical. Based on the validation and suggestions from the e-module validator with contextual problems, it fulfills the valid criteria is very valid. The results of the response of students in the one to one evaluation stage of practicality were very practical, while in the small group evaluation stage the practicality level was very practical. This shows that the e-module with contextual problems in the comparison material for class VII junior high school which was developed is valid and practical. One area of technology that is growing quickly in Indonesia is education technology. The use of technology in education aids in the process of helping students learn. One of the reasons for the continued low quality of education in Indonesia, particularly in mathematics, is the use of subpar teaching resources. Flipbooks, especially when used with sequential or sequential information, are thought to be able to enhance the quality of classroom learning in terms of students' ability to solve mathematical problems and autonomous learning. Flipbooks include textual content along with graphics, videos, and other engaging elements. Thus, the purpose of this research was to develop flipbook series and sequential materials that are both useful and effective. Based on the results of daily mathematic test of class IX SMPN 1 2x11 Kayutanam, it was found that the student’s mathematical problem solving abilities were not optimal. It has to be surmounted to achieve the objectives of learning mathematics. One of other solution that appropiate this problem is to use the creative problem solving learning model. The purpose of the study was to describe wheter the student’s problem solving ability class IX SMPN 1 2x11 Kayutanam who use creative problem solving learning model is better than those using the direct learning model. Based on the results of the final test mathematical problem solving ability, it was founded that an average value of the final test of the experimental class is better than the final tea value of the control class. It can be concluded that the mathematical problem solving ability of students who learn using the creative problem solving learning model is better than students who use the direct learning model.Keywords--Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Direct Learning Model, Creative Problem Solving Learning Model.

Students must learn to communicate mathematical concepts. Mathematical communication abilities in class VII SMPN 15 Padang are still lacking, according to observations and assessments. Applying Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model to solve this challenge. The final goal of this research is to determine whether students who use the TTW type cooperative learning model in class VII SMPN 15 Padang have better mathematical communication skills than those who use conventional learning and to determine their ability development. Descriptive and quasi-experimental methods are used in this study. This test featured a quiz and final math communication test. The mathematical communication ability test analysis yielded P-value = 0.028 and α = 0.05. The purpose of this study was to develop a mathematics learning tool in the form of lesson plans and handouts based on a contextual approach to the valid and practical material on a two-variable system of linear equations for class VIII SMP/MTs students. This research used the plomp model. The plomp model consists of a preliminary research and development of prototype or prototyping phase. Needs analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, and student analysis were carried out at the preliminary research stage to obtain information about the characteristics needed in developing learning tools. The development or prototyping stage is carried out by making prototypes of learning tools in the form of lesson plans and handouts based on a contextual approach through formative evaluation stages. The steps in the formative evaluation carried out were self evaluation, expert review, one to one evaluation, and small group evaluation. The results of this study indicate that learning tools in the form of lesson plans and handouts based on a contextual approach are included in the very valid category with a validity level of 88.25% for lesson plans and 88.43% for handouts. Then, the results of the Handout research are based on a very practical category of contextual approach with a practicality level of 91.25% by students and 93.83% by teachers.
