Abstract

Mathematicaliiproblem-solving skills are one of the skills that students must master. But their math problem-solving skills aren't the best. This is because the learning model used failed to develop students' math problem-solving skills. Implementation of the Connecting,Organizing,  Reflecting,  Extending (CORE) learning model can be used to improve students' math problem-solving abilities. The achievement of this research is to see students' ability to solve math problems by applying the CORE model were superior to those of students learning in direct learning. Based on this research, we know that students learning with CORE are superior in solving math problems than those using direct learning models.Keywords. – Connecting Organizing Reflecting Extending, Mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe types of errors, the factors of students’ errors, and solution to minimize the errors in solving the mathematical problem about Cartesian coordinates. The types of errors are categorized based on Kastolan. The approach in this research was qualitative approach with a type of descriptive research. The techniques of data collection in this research were test and interview. Data validation was done by triangulation by comparing the result of test data and interview. The technique of data analysis was done by data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The subjects of this research were the students class VIII.1 SMP Negeri 6 Padang.   The result of this research indicated that (1) The students made a conceptual error about 45% because they did not comprehend the question, could not comprehend the concept well, could not apply the concept, could not  understand the material that have been studied before. (2) The students made a procedural error about 31% because they could not complete the test based on appropriate procedures, unskilled in solving the problem by writing the procedures of completion, not reading the questions well, and lack of time when doing the test. (3)The students made a technical error about 24% because they were not checking the answers before they were collected, not yet mastering the algebraic operations, not being careful in carrying out the calculation operations of the counting operations. The solution to minimize students’ errors can be done by providing the varieties of learning model. In this case, the learning model that provided is cooperative model STAD type, which shows that this can minimize students' error. Keyword: Students’ errors, cartesian coordinates, errors by Kastol’s category, cooperative model STAD type

Abstract

The research try to aims to develop a learning tool in the form of Student Worksheets on the material of squares and triangles for class VII in the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model which is valid and practical.This development research uses the Plomp development model which consists of three stages, namely the initial investigation phase, the development phase, and the assessment phase.Validation is carried out by mathematics education experts and language experts. The practicality of Student Worksheets is seen from the practicality questionnaire results of the student response questionnaire. The research conducted shows that Student Worksheets in theTwo Stay TwoStray type of cooperative learning model has met the valid criteria in terms of content and construct. Student Worksheets is practical in terms of implementation, convenience and time needed in mathematics learning activities. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Student Worksheets in the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model for grade VII junior high school students of the squares and Triangles material that has been produced can be declared valid and practical.Keywords__Development Research, Student Worksheet, Two Stay Two Stray, Squares and Triangles

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is an ability to think of students who produce new and unique ideas, ideas and concepts to solve a mathematical problem. But in its implementation, this ability is still relatively low in class IX students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. One of the solutions given is to use the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model. The purpose of the research is to analyze and find out whether the ability of students who learn using this learning model is better than the Direct learning model and determine the development of the ability of students who learn using the Think Talk Write type cooperative learning model. This research is classified as a quasy experiment category with a research design of nonequivalent post-test only control group design. The data on the development of these abilities is described based on the quiz results, while the test results are analyzed using the ?-test, obtained ?-????? = 0.001 so reject H0. Based on the quiz results, it was found that the development of their abilities increased, and based on the results of the test analysis, it was found that the ability of students who learned using the Think Talk Write type cooperative learning model was better than the Direct learning model in class IX SMP Negeri 25 Padang.Keywords– Cooperative Learning type Think Talk Write, Direct Learning, Mathematical creative    thinking ability

Abstract

The mathematics reasoning abilities is one of the abilities that should be had by every students in mathematics learning. However, in class XII IPA SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang, this ability is still low. One effort that can be done to improve students' mathematical reasoning ability is to apply the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. The purpose of this study is to describe the increase in reasoning ability of students who learn with the RME approach and describe whether the improvement ability of students who learn with the RME approach is better than the reasoning ability of students who learn with conventional learning in class XII IPA SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. The type of this research is a quasi-experiment and descriptive research design with Randomize Control Group Only Design. The research instrument was LKPD and reasoning ability test. Based on the results of the training analysis on LKPD, it was found that the development of reasoning ability increased with the RME approach, and based on the results of the test analysis it was found that the reasoning ability of students who learned the RME approach was better than the reasoning ability of students who studied with conventional learning in class XII IPA Pertiwi 1 Padang.Key Words – The Ability Of Mathematical Reasoning, Realistisc Mathematics Education, Learning Conventional.

Abstract

Based on observation at class VIII SMPN 2 Pariaman, it was found that students’ mathematical reasoning abilities were low. One of the reasons is students are accustomed to working on the questions in accordance with the examples of the questions given and the learning used is less able to improve their reasoning abilities. Efforts that can be used are implementing  students based on scientific approach. The purpose of this study is to determine and describe whether the ability of mathematical reasoning learning with the application of students based on scientific approach is better than the ability to solve mathematical reasoning with learning does not use student worksheets based on a scientific approach. This type of research is quasy experimental research design with Randomized Static Group Design. The study population was students of class VIII SMPN 2 Pariaman with a sample of VIII.4 chosen as experimental class VIII.5 as the control class. The instruments used were quizzes and tests of mathematical reasoning abilities. Abstract

An understanding of mathematical concepts really helps students gain a good foundation for other basic skills such as reasoning, communication, communication and problem solving. The reality on the ground presentation that concepts understanding in mathematical by students is still weak. Lack understanding of concepts was also found during daily assessments with trigonometry material in class XI MIPA SMA Adabiah 2 Padang. The solution to this problem is the application of a jigsaw cooperative learning model. The research purpose was to analyze whether concepts understanding in mathematical by students who learned using the Jigsaw cooperative learning model was better than direct learning and to describe the development concepts understanding in mathematical by students during the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model. The research type is quasy experiment and descriptive research and the research design is static group comparison. While the population is all students of class XI MIPA Adabiah 2 Padang. The instruments used are quizzes and tests of concepts understanding in mathematical. Quiz data analysis resulted in the conclusion that there was a development of each indicator of concepts understanding in mathematical by students during the application of the jigsaw model. The results of the hypothesis  show that reject  because . Abstract

Understanding  of  mathematical  concepts  is  a  basic  capabilities  that  must  be  improved  in  students.  In  fact, understanding  of  mathematical  concepts  in  class  VIII  SMPN  18  Padang  is  still  low.  The  solutions  to  resolve  it  by applying active learning model of The Power of Two. Type of research is quasy experiment with the static group design. Sample  research  is  taken  by  simple  random  sampling.  The  result  showsthat  students’understanding  of  mathematical concepts by applying active learning model of The Power Of Twois better than students’understanding of mathematical conceptsby applyingconventional learning. Abstract

Based on preliminary studies, the teachers of Senior High School in Mentawai district are not familiar with media and digital learning resources based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) which are ideally used in the 4.0 revolution era. This is because the location is in the islands, far from the capital city of the Sumatera Barat Province,  and the signal is often unstable. Therefore, it is difficult to get the latest information and to learn technology. This has an impact on the learning process that is not interesting and bother the achievement of learning objectives. One of the efforts that can be done is to provide training to teachers through the Tri Dharma college activities, namely community service. The topic in this training is the Making of Digital Student Worksheet (LKPD) in the Revolution Era 4.0 and the New Normal Era Based on the Geogebra Classroom Application. Geogebra Classroom application is very suitable for making LKPD learning mathematics. The Digital LKPD should also be equipped with materials and questions that are expected to be able to increase students' HOTS. In this activity, training participants will receive material about Geogebra, and will create LKPD based on Geogebra.
