Abstract

This research focuses on the role of Kyai in improving the quality of services at the Islamic Boarding School through the adoption of digital technology. Using a qualitative approach, the data collection method is carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation involving Kyai, students, and pesantren administrators. The study results show that Kyai plays an important role in facilitating the transformation of educational services, including implementing an online registration system that facilitates access to information for parents and students. In addition, using digital platforms increases transparency and efficiency in communication, creating a better relationship between pesantren administrators and the community. The implications of this study show that the support and advocacy of Kyai in utilizing technology can solve modern education's challenges. These findings emphasize the importance of technology integration in pesantren management as a strategic step to improve the quality of education services. This research also provides new insights for developing educational policies in the pesantren environment to become more adaptive and responsive to the needs of the times.

Abstract

This research focuses on applying governance principles in the faculties of education of Arab universities, highlighting three main elements: information disclosure, accountability in performance evaluation, and digitization of administrative data management. This research used a qualitative method with a case study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, display, and verification techniques. The results showed that information disclosure creates an inclusive and collaborative work environment, increases trust, and encourages active participation in decision-making. Accountability in performance evaluation is implemented through periodic reports that include achievements and recommendations for improvement, strengthening collective responsibility and transparency. Meanwhile, digitization of data management is still at an early stage, with barriers such as a lack of archiving standards and adequate technological infrastructure. Nonetheless, efforts to increase digitization are beginning to show positive results in administrative efficiency. This research significantly contributes to exploring the literature on higher education governance, particularly in the Arab region, by affirming the importance of integrating information disclosure, accountability, and digitization. The implication is that universities must adopt a holistic governance approach to improve management quality and global competitiveness. Further research is recommended to explore a broader context and test the generalizability of these findings.

Abstract

Integrating revolutionary technologies in crime detection and prevention has transformed the landscape of modern security systems. This study aims to analyze the role and effectiveness of advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools, including facial recognition, thermal sensors, drones, GPS tracking systems, and real-time surveillance cameras, in enhancing crime prevention strategies. This research uses a descriptive survey approach. Data was collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents using a non-probability sampling method. Data analysis uses a descriptive approach to describe the use of ICT in crime detection and prevention. The findings reveal that public awareness of ICT tools is increasing, with significant recognition of their potential to support connectivity, intelligence gathering, and proactive security measures. Advanced technologies were identified as essential in improving response times, enabling real-time monitoring, and enhancing the overall efficiency of crime prevention systems. Correlating with previous research, the study confirms that ICT tools provide innovative solutions for combating crime and fostering a sense of security within communities. These insights emphasize the need for continuous innovation and policy support to integrate cutting-edge ICT tools into law enforcement frameworks, ensuring adaptability to evolving security challenges.

Abstract

Providing access to learning in inclusive schools for children with special needs in Indonesia is still concerning. The implementation of the curriculum in inclusive schools has not been able to accommodate all Children with Special Needs. This study aimed to find a conceptual model of curriculum management as an alternative and practical approach to implementing inclusive schools. This study was conducted in one of the elementary schools in Yogyakarta using qualitative methods with case study. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Triangulation of sources, techniques, and time was used to test the validity of the data to test the validity of the data. Data analysis includes collection, reduction, presentation, and verification/conclusions. The study results indicate that inclusive curriculum management has been implemented and structured through planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating/assessing, considering all aspects involved in the process. The results of this study can be used as a guideline for implementing curriculum management in inclusive schools. However, further research is needed on the effectiveness of implementing curriculum management in inclusive schools and a more in-depth study of the obstacles and challenges in implementing curriculum management in inclusive schools.

Abstract

The role of lecturers is vital in achieving the objectives of colleges of education, necessitating their optimal performance. This study examines the connection between performance management practices such as competency, culture, leadership, measurement and reward-based and lecturer effectiveness in colleges of education in southwest Nigeria. A correlational survey research design to explore relationships between variables and predict outcomes, the study utilized multistage sampling techniques to select regional colleges, including stratified, purposive, and proportionate methods. This sampling method was used due to the large and geographically dispersed population involving different schools. Out of a targeted population of 583, 459 participants were included. Data were gathered using the Performance Management Questionnaire (PMQ) and the Lecturers' Effectiveness Questionnaire (LEQ). The instruments were validated using the ordinal alpha reliability technique, yielding the ordinal alpha reliability coefficient of 0.95 and 0.90 for PMQ and LEQ, respectively. Four research questions were addressed using median descriptive statistics, while one central and four operational hypotheses were tested using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). The study revealed that performance management levels are very high in these colleges, and lecturer effectiveness is encouraging. A notable relationship exists between career-based and culture-based performance management and lecturer effectiveness. The study recommends that administrators and managers of colleges of education enhance current performance management practices through policy development and establish a framework to address concerns about the quality of teachers graduating from these institutions.

Abstract

Despite international commitments to inclusive education (IE), many students with disabilities (SWDs) in Ethiopia face barriers to accessing education that meets their special needs. This study aimed to assess the inclusivity of existing policy frameworks for SWDs in the country. Using a multiple case study design, the data were collected through an analysis of relevant policy documents and semi-structured interviews with 16 educational practitioners selected through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using an inductive content analysis approach. The findings revealed a lack of a distinct national IE policy in Ethiopia. Despite this, existing legal frameworks, programs, strategies, standards, plans, and implementation guidelines related to education provision do support the inclusion of SWDs. However, their practicality is limited due to the lack of education law, weak structural support, limited capacities and resources, restricted access to quality education for SWDs, unreliable data and reporting systems, and inadequate financing mechanisms for IE. To ensure IE for SWDs, Ethiopia must develop a national IE policy, strengthen its organizational structures, address resource constraints, and establish a reliable data system. These findings are crucial for policymakers and practitioners seeking to address the special educational needs of SWDs in Ethiopia.
