Abstract

Reading proficiency is a foundational skill in elementary education, significantly influencing students' academic success and personal development. This study investigates the initial reading abilities of 2nd-grade students at Integrated Islamic Elementary School Tahfidzul Quran An-Nahl, an institution that combines general and religious education. The research identifies key areas for improvement and evaluates the effectiveness of current teaching methods. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, the study assesses three main indicators: pronunciation accuracy, reading fluency, and voice clarity. Data were collected through reading tests and teacher questionnaires. Results reveal significant challenges, with most students rated as "Poor" or "Fair." Factors such as inconsistent phonetic teaching, insufficient reading practice, and unsupportive learning environments contribute to these difficulties. Recommendations include enhancing phonetic instruction, increasing reading practice, and fostering a supportive reading environment. This study provides insights for developing effective literacy programs in similar educational contexts, aiming for holistic improvements in students' reading skills

Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges faced by school principals in building student character and its solutions. This study applied a qualitative research method. The informants in this study were selected using a purposive sampling method based on research needs. There were 11 informants consisting of 2 school principals and 9 teachers. Interview was a data collection technique used in this study. To analyze the data, the researcher administrated the Atlas.ti software which tended to thematic analysis models. The results of the study illustrate that the school principal faced two types of challenges in shaping student character, namely in the form of internal and external issues. Internally, school principal encountered problem related to the school management related in term of the limited educational staff such as teachers and staff, insufficient budget and finances, and learning distances. Meanwhile, the external issue is associated with the violations of school rules and regulations that have to do with students and the parent. In this case, students did not actively engage in the school activities, both inside and outside the classroom. On the other hand, the parent was less concerned about their children's future education. To solve these problems, there is an effective solution. Regarding internal issues, the school principal recommended to strengthen school management with a number of ways, including scheduling teachers in teaching, optimizing budgeting and financing, and facilitating students who need an assistance. Meanwhile, to resolve external issues, the school principal suggest to take some actions against both students and parents. In dealing with the students, the school principal requires to conduct counseling guidance, student teaching student (STS), and smart parenting. Meanwhile, to the parents, the school principal proposes to organize an inspiring talk and smart parenting.

Abstract

The importance of laboratory works in the training of vocational students cannot be underestimated. The aim of this investigation was to explore the challenges faced by clothing and textiles students in the course of laboratory works. The investigation employed a cross-sectional survey involving students taking clothing and textiles in tertiary institutions in Delta State Nigeria which served as respondents. Data collection was done using a self-developed questionnaire administered through personal contacts. Data collected were analyzed using the mean and standard deviation. The benchmark for accepting or rejecting statements made in the questionnaire was set 2.50. The study established positive disposition of clothing and textiles students towards the role of laboratory works. This hinged on the overall relevance of laboratory works in explaining key concepts in clothing and textiles curriculum. It equally provided insight on the perceived challenges. It is therefore concluded that laboratory works should be sustained since it enhances students understanding of curriculum concepts.

Abstract

This study focused on the risk of non-utilisation of contraceptives among Olabisi Onabanjo University undergraduate students. The challenges considered were the level of awareness, knowledge, usage and opinion of the undergraduate students about contraceptive usage. The primary data used was obtained from 300 questionnaires administered where 250 were completed and returned. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the socio-demographics of contraceptive usage. Chi-square test and Binary logistic regression were utilised to test the variables' significance and association. The findings revealed a strong correlation between permanent residence, sex, age group, and faculty of respondents with contraceptive usage. Urban students, young undergraduates, faculty with large students, and female respondents used contraceptives more. The binary logistic regression results indicated a significant linear relationship between the risk of non-utilisation of contraceptives and stillbirth with a binary logistic regression coefficient of 3.069 and p-value = 0.001. The study signified the risk of non-utilisation of contraceptives during sexual intercourse which results in STDs from unmarried partners, leading to stillbirth in females and critical health issues in male respondents. The study concludes that there is reasonable knowledge, awareness, and usage of contraceptives among undergraduate students, but more awareness is needed to prevent unwanted pregnancy and STDs

Abstract

Saving is an economic term used to a proper utilization of resources that represents one of the most predictable determinants of successful personal and economic development. The purpose of this study is to identify employees’ awareness about saving and the major problems of employees’ practices of saving on the FIs in Oromia Region, Ethiopia. This study use quantitative research approach, particularly survey design. The result indicates that (107)47.80% employees had no saving experience and (118)52.20% of the respondents have been involved in saving part of their income. The most important covariates identified in the descriptive statistical analysis indicated that employer job position, gender, age, marital status, level of education, religion, ethnicity, monthly income, housing condition and family size were associated with saving practice in the study area. The effect of SA (Saving awareness) which is (Beta=-0.594076) significant (P, 0.05) is and its coefficient is negative indicating that the greater the saving awareness the lower the value of financial institutions in Ethiopia. The SA is highly lower the value of financial institutions. This result also makes sense, because both the theoretical and empirical evidences support that too. The effect of saving practice value is also (SP, Beta = - 0.836180) significant (p, 0.05) and as watched it is negative which indicates that the one unit increase in saving practice leads in- 0.836180 decrease in saving practice value on FIs. Finally, the variables like house hold composition, family health condition, impact of the financial crisis, personal poor money management skills, low incomes in the job, absence of financial education to create saving awareness, low interest rate provided by financial institutions, lack of trust of employees in the FIs due to financial crisis, low interest rate earned by FIs, high bureaucracy and complex nature of services provided by FIs highly affected employees saving practice in FIs

Abstract

Moral education serves as a critical foundation in shaping a young generation with integrity, resilience, and social responsibility. Amid the challenges of globalization, digital disruption, and a crisis of values among adolescents, the urgency to strengthen moral education has become increasingly evident. This study aims to identify the approaches, strategies, and models of moral education implemented in the Indonesian educational context during the 2020–2025 period. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was employed, based on the PRISMA protocol, by analyzing 30 scholarly articles sourced from Google Scholar, Garuda, and reputable national journals. The findings indicate that moral education approaches are diverse, ranging from religious, constructivist, and value-affective, to visionary-systemic approaches. The strategies identified include role modeling, habituation, reflective projects, and school-family collaboration. Prominent models include religious habituation, transformational character education, cognitive moral dilemmas, and the family-based character model. These approaches have demonstrated high effectiveness when implemented contextually and consistently. Nevertheless, challenges such as low teacher competence, lack of cross-environment synergy, and the influence of digital media remain significant obstacles. This study contributes to mapping moral education practices at the national level and serves as a reference for curriculum development, teacher training, and the formulation of more adaptive and collaborative character education policies.

Abstract

In today’s digital marketplace, online reviews, and user-generated content have become powerful influences on consumer behaviour, particularly in the e-commerce sector. This study explores how online reviews, customer testimonials, product ratings, images, and videos shared by users affect customer satisfaction perception among e-commerce consumers. As consumers increasingly rely on the opinions and experiences of others before making a purchase, understanding the role of these digital inputs is critical for businesses aiming to improve customer satisfaction. The research is based on a Quantitative Methods to survey responses from 300 e-commerce users with insights through Google Forms. The results indicate that the clarity, authenticity, and helpfulness of online reviews significantly impact how consumers perceive the quality of products and services. Additionally, user-generated images and videos increase buyer confidence and satisfaction by offering real-world evidence of product performance. The study highlights the importance for e-commerce platforms to actively encourage and manage customer feedback and content sharing. Businesses that promote transparent and engaging user content can enhance consumer trust, improve satisfaction levels, and reduce purchase hesitation. These findings offer practical value to marketers and platform designers seeking to strengthen the online shopping experience.

Abstract

This paper critically analyzes complex interactions between power, privilege, and race in the context of institutionalized racism, highlighting the structural and historical dimensions of racial disparities that continue to perpetuate racial inequality. Based on a comprehensive review of the literature and an online search, the study examines how power relations benefit majority racial groups, privilege is exercised as an unseen benefit, and institutionalized racism extends to a range of societal institutions, such as schools, hospitals, workplaces, and the criminal justice system. One of the most important findings of this study is that systemic racism is historically entrenched. It was colonialism, slavery, and institutional discrimination that created foundations for racial hierarchies that continue to influence contemporary power dynamics. These historical injustices have become ingrained in legal systems, policy, and societal norms, therefore resulting in long-lasting inequalities. The research also uncovers the role of privilege in sustaining these disparities. Privilege allows certain racial groups to live life with unearned advantages, at times even without their owners' knowledge, while marginalized groups face perpetual obstacles. This privilege encompasses access to education, economic opportunities, and equal treatment under the law, sustaining cycles of disadvantage.

Abstract

Academic libraries play a crucial and evolving role in promoting student success within higher education. Beyond providing access to diverse collections of print and digital materials, libraries actively contribute to academic achievement through tailored support services, research assistance, and information literacy training. This research is a Descriptive analytical researchs with a focus on case studies in the field of higher education. The purpose of this study is to confirm that academic libraries are a crucial element in creating an effective, equitable, and dynamic learning environment that contributes directly to student success. This work examines how libraries adapt to the changing educational landscape by fostering inclusive learning environments, partnering with campus agencies, and addressing the needs of underrepresented groups. It highlights the positive correlation between library engagement and academic performance, particularly among first-generation and distance-learning students. Challenges such as limited resources and fragmented feedback systems are also discussed, with recommendations for leveraging data-driven approaches to enhance library services and better support diverse student populations. Ultimately, the work underscores the integral role of academic libraries in shaping equitable, dynamic, and effective learning environments that drive student success

Abstract

Monitoring educational infrastructure in conflict-affected countries such as Afghanistan remains critical for understanding social transformation and guiding evidence-based policy. Indeed, rather vital. This study develops an integrated Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) framework to analyze the spatial distribution, growth, and accessibility of educational facilities in Afghanistan between 2020 and 2025. Multi-temporal satellite imagery from Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8/9 was combined with socio-economic datasets, including population density, poverty indicators, and official school records, to map schools and madrasahs, assess accessibility, and identify infrastructure scarcity hotspots (what is more, the combination yielded quite robust results). Accessibility analyses employing urban and rural buffer zones revealed significant disparities, with rural populations facing markedly limited physical access and correspondingly higher educational deprivation. Quite stark, in fact. Multi-criteria hotspot modelling further highlighted those regions where high population demand converges with poor facility quality and teacher shortages, thereby indicating critical service gaps. For that matter, these gaps persist rather stubbornly. Comparative analysis of infrastructure growth versus population expansion demonstrated, quite convincingly, that in many urban and rural areas new school construction has not fully matched demographic demand, thus revealing unmet educational needs. The study emphasises that spatially explicit, data-driven approaches are essential for equitable educational planning and for supporting social transformation in fragile contexts. The findings provide actionable insights for policymakers, international donors, and planners to prioritise interventions in underserved regions and promote inclusive educational development. Future research could usefully integrate real-time geospatial monitoring and participatory approaches to further enhance educational planning and social development strategies.
