Abstract

Ibn Battuta was a famous Muslim traveler and jurist in the 14th century because he was known as the greatest adventurer of pre-modern times. The story of his fantastic journey made the Western world respect him as the "Marco Polo of the Muslim World". Ibn Battuta was also a famous Arab poet of his time with his adventures to various corners of the world. The method used in this research is literature study, namely by adjusting research variables to research that is relevant to this study. The results of the research show that the traces of his travel steps have become proof of his reliability as a traveler. One of his works which contains the story of his journey is written in his work entitled Tuḥfatun iNuẓẓār ifī iGharāʾibil iAmṣār iwa iAjāʾibil Asfār which was compiled by Ibnu Juzay, but is often simply called Ar-Rihlah Ibnu Battuta. In his work, Ibnu Battuta wrote down various things he encountered in every city or region he visited, so that he could observe and understand every socio-cultural condition of the local people themselves. With the many places he has visited, it is no longer surprising that he has made a major contribution to various sciences, especially geography, because it was the journey he undertook that ultimately opened up new travel routes and introduced that humans living in this world have a diversity of cultures and social conditions. - particularly in Indonesia, the contribution of this research is to describe Ibn Battuta's journey so that it can become a study and example for all readers in social life.

Abstract

Aspects of economic methodology contained in Institutional economics are often incorporated into orthodox economics. Orthodox economics means economic thoughts that use and continue classical economic views, such as free competition, perfect competition, consumer satisfaction. The person who was most influential and had a dominant role in the existence of the Institutional school was Thorstein Bunde Veblen. He criticized Classical and Neo-classical economic theories which ignored non-economic aspects such as institutions and the environment. In fact, Veblen considered that the influence of circumstances and the environment was very large on people's economic behavior. Unsupportive political and social structures can cause distortions in economic processes. For Veblen, society is an evolutionary phenomenon, everything is constantly changing. A person's behavioral patterns in society are adapted to current social conditions. If the behavior is suitable and accepted, then the behavior will continue. On the other hand, if a behavior is deemed unsuitable, the behavior will be adapted to the environment. These circumstances and environments are what Veblen called "institutions". In this case, it is explained that what Veblen means by institutions are things related to norms, values, habits and culture. Furthermore, everything is reflected in economic activities, both in production and consumption.

Abstract

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a business model in which a company sells products through a network of independent distributors. From a sharia economic perspective, MLM often causes debate because some of its practices can be questioned from a sharia compliance perspective. First of all, MLM emphasizes the aspect of buying and selling products, which is in line with sharia economic principles which encourage legitimate business activities and avoid usurious or speculative transactions. However, many MLMs face criticism because they tend to focus more on recruiting new members than actual product sales. This is contrary to sharia principles which emphasize justice and honesty in business. Second, in MLM, there is an element of profit sharing which is usually disproportionate between the company, distributors and network members. In sharia economics, the distribution of profits must be fair and balanced, and practices that cause injustice in the distribution of profits must be avoided.

Abstract

Mental Revolution is interpreted as a change in mindset in national life. Mental revolution does not simply rely on good intentions, but must take into account structural changes in societal interactions. In the realm of Islamic education, mental revolution must consider the structure of meaning, domination and legitimacy. These three things condition the mindset of Islamic education practitioners, the Islamic Education System, and the structure of Islamic education institutions themselves. The orientation of change as a result of implementing the mental revolution must be shown in the form of improving educational services for the welfare of society. Islamic educational institutions are expected to be able to explain injustice, arbitrariness and make people look, feel, think and act more rationally and wisely.

Abstract

The novel "Maharku Surah Ar-Rahman" by Ahliya Mujahidin depicts the journey of its main character, Karin, through the lens of a life filled with meaning. In analyzing Karin's character, the Gestalt approach, developed by Kurt Kofkka, can provide deep insight into the way Karin organizes and integrates her life experiences. The Gestalt approach emphasizes observation of the whole, where parts of an individual's experience form a larger whole. In the context of Karin's character, this reflects how every event in her life is interconnected and contributes to her overall understanding. Karin as the main character in this novel has complex emotional layers. The Gestalt approach can help us see how important events in his life, such as loss and happiness, form a complete picture of his personality. For example, how feelings of loss in the past affect the way Karin interacts with the people around her and shapes her thinking patterns. In Gestalt, there is the concept of "organization" which shows how individuals structure their experiences into a meaningful pattern. Karin, as a character, may face internal conflicts that need to be organized to achieve unity in her development. Gestalt analysis can help identify key points in the story that help shape this character organization. Additionally, the Gestalt approach highlights the importance of context in understanding individuals. Karin is not only analyzed as a separate entity, but also in relation to her environment, social relationships, and cultural context. This opens up the opportunity to understand how external factors play a role in his character development. By applying the Gestalt Approach in analyzing Karin's character, we can find continuity and integration between various aspects of her life. This provides a richer understanding of the complexity of the character in the context of the novel "Maharku Surah Ar-Rahman" by Ahliya Mujahidin, and how his life experiences form the overall pattern that makes him a strong and multidimensional character.
