Abstract

Each culture has its unique approach to understanding the concept of safety, and the Ende-Lio culture on Flores Island, Indonesia, is no exception. In the Ende-Lio culture, the concept of salvation is known as "Du'a Ngga'e," which forms the basis of understanding life's purpose, balance with nature, and relationship with the universe. This paper focuses on understanding Du'a Ngga'e as a theological concept that emphasizes the importance of maintaining balance in human interaction with nature, gods, and ancestral spirits. This concept represents the belief that good actions and righteous ethics will ensure the safety of individuals and communities in this world and towards life after death. Therefore, Ndua Ngga'e emphasizes caring for nature, maintaining a harmonious relationship with the universe, and living with high ethics. This study illustrates how Ende-Lio cultures understand and integrate the concept of ecological theology in their daily lives. The concept of D'ua Ngga'e inspires positive action in safeguarding nature and promoting a healthy relationship between humans and the universe.

Abstract

The expression of gratitude of the Dayak Tobag community to Jebata is expressed in the form of gratitude called Munjong. Munjong has a meaning as an expression of gratitude for all gifts, fortune / harvest, protection and welfare as well as a form of restoration of relationships that have been damaged due to human behaviour in relation to the cosmos. The purpose of this research is to understand the religio magical meaning of the munjong traditional ceremony from the perspective of Dayak Tobag. This research uses empirical/sociological legal research methods using a phenomenological approach and hermeneutic theory so that it is known that the Dayak Tobag people see everything as a gift, a gift and everything that exists is centred and there is someone who makes it, namely SANG-ADA who makes everything exist and is the centre of everything that exists. All events and activities in relation to nature (cosmos) and humans in the Tobag Dayak community are seen in a transcendental dimension culminating in an expression of gratitude. The expression of gratitude in the Tobag Dayak perspective is manifested in a traditional Munjong ceremony.

Abstract

The tradition of riding ayun in ethnic Malays in West Kalimantan is one form of cultural preservation that has undergone a significant transformation in the face of the modern era. This study aims to describe changes in the meaning, implementation, and interpretation of the swing riding tradition in the context of the modern era. Data was collected through observation and interviews with local communities who still preserve the tradition of riding Ayun. The results showed that the tradition of swinging rose experienced changes in meaning, implementation, and interpretation. The influence of technology and globalization plays an important role in this change. Technology enables the use of social media and event planning apps to make it easier for families planning traditional events to ride the swing. In addition, technology also allows the use of modern equipment in the implementation of traditions, such as the use of audio-visual equipment to display information about the tradition of swinging or documentation of the birth of a baby. On the globalization side, the tradition of swinging can become better known in different parts of the world through social media platforms and websites. This can help in expanding the appreciation of this tradition on a global level. This research suggests that cultural transformation can occur in hereditary traditions such as swing rides. Therefore, cultural preservation needs to be done in the right way so that the tradition remains relevant and can be passed on to the next generation. In addition, the study also shows that technology and globalization can play an important role in cultural preservation. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to leverage technology and global connectivity to promote and preserve local culture.

Based on religious differences between couples pose challenges in parenting, so this study aims to find cultural diversity and parenting in families of other religions, psychological impacts and mental health on children from families of different faiths, and the integration of psychological anthropology in the care of children of families of different religions. This qualitative research explores issues or mental problems experienced by children in forming their character. The study found that parenting families of other faiths has a positive value for their children's development. Parenting practices are based on cultural traditions, ethnic values, and family habits passed down from generation to generation, as well as the influence of parenting on the emotional, social, and cognitive development of children who apply parenting strategies such as authoritative, overprotective, and permissive that do not carry elements of their respective religions. In addition, it also found integration in the care of children through practices such as tolerance, politeness, helpfulness, honesty, friendliness, empathy, and sympathy. The impact of mental health on their parenting can be prevented by implementing inclusive parenting that emphasizes the practice of cultural diversity, values, and beliefs in their family environment. Hopefully, these findings can provide an essential understanding of the religious differences that affect the upbringing of children of different faith families, providing insight for anthropology and psychology practitioners on the importance of understanding aspects of religion in supporting child development.
