This article describes the concept of Murtadha Muthahari's thoughts on freedom and equality of women's rights in Islam. Studying freedom and equality of women's rights in Islam is essential to respond to misinterpretation of women, which causes Westerners to make wrong assumptions about women in Islam and issue negative ideas about Muslim women. The primary data of this article is Muthahhari's work entitled Women's Rights in Islam and Women's Philosophy in Islam. This study used an analytic description method with a factual historical approach regarding the characters. This article presents how Muthahhari explains emancipation, freedom, and equality of women's rights in Islam. Muthahhari explained that emancipation is a movement that determines the equality of women's rights against men's rights to obtain justice and happiness. Meanwhile, according to Muthahhari, the freedom and equality of women's rights in Islam is that women and men have equal rights but not freedom and equality, which is the same between equality and identity, must be distinguished. Different from other figures who study women's issues, Muthahhari uses methods from Islam by using philosophy and religion as a starting point.

The polemic in discussing the concept of the caliphate has always been a never-ending debate. The Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia group is one of the leading forces that continuously promotes the caliphate, a system that some Islamic groups claim is the only solution to the problem of civilization, in which Muslim society is considered the main force in the glorious history of Islam. This qualitative literature study discusses the discourse of thought and criticism of understanding the KhilÄfah a la Hizbut Tahrir concept. This study shows Ulil Abshar Abdalla's criticism of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia's interpretation of leaders who must take conventional actions or allegiance; according to him, matters that are no longer relevant because matters of leadership are not regulated in detail in religion but social laws that apply depending on the conditions of society. Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia's understanding is a bad idea because it is considered an act of manipulating arguments and claims on things considered wrong. Their concept has a bad influence, triggering a wider internal conflict and the decline of the people, on the other hand. Islam does not want the existence of a state because, basically, Islam only regulates fundamental values in society.

The rapid development of science in the archipelago, especially in Aceh, is characterized by the emergence of manuscripts in various fields of study. Apart from the big names that have been very well-known, such as Hamzah Fansuri, Syamsuddin As-Sumatrani, and Nuruddin Ar-Raniri, many other names are also very productive. One of the thinkers who has not been widely studied in the Aceh thought tradition is Muhammad Zain al-Asyi, who has many works in various fields such as Sufism, fiqh, monotheism, history, and others. This article aimed at analyzing the manuscript of Bidayah al-Hidayah, a work of Muhammad Zain al-Asyi related to Islamic theological thought. This study used philological methods in addition to content analysis. This work contains the ideology of wujudiyyah developed by its predecessors, namely Hamzah Fansuri and Syams Al-Din al-Sumatrani. Apart from these teachings, it was also found that al-Asyi developed the instructions of the Sunni aqidah of Abu Hasan al-Asy'ary and Abu Mansur al-Maturidi written by al-Imam al-Sanusi in Matn Umm al-Barahin.

Socialism and Islam, or Islamic socialism, are two streams of thought that have continued to develop in Middle Eastern and North African societies for centuries. These two streams frequently reinforce each other. This article examines the debate and practical implementation of Islamic socialism in the thought of contemporary Muslim philosophers such as Jamal al-DÄ«n al-AfghanÄ«, Salamah MÅ«sa, Muá¹£á¹afa al-Sibaʽī, and ‘Ali Sharī‘atÄ«. This study used a comparative approach by exploring primary sources from contemporary Muslim thinkers who are the subject of the study. The findings showed that socialist Islamic thinkers have creative and original thought patterns. They intensively and comprehensively explored Islamic teachings and traditions to explain and build a complete ‘Islamic Socialism’, not just a patchwork between ‘Socialism’ and ‘Islam’. In addition, some intellectuals from the modern Muslim world created theoretical ideas and showed how Islamic socialism was implemented and realized in the form of institutions.

This research was library research with overthinking as its material object and the Stoicism of Marcus Aurelius as a formal object. The main problem in this study is how Marcus Aurelius' Stoicism becomes a solution to overthinking. This research used critical analysis and heuristics methods. The data source in this research refers to the book or personal record of Marcus Aurelius, namely Meditations, which is supported by other sources that are closely related to the problems of Stoicism and overthinking. There are some critical points as the solution to the overthinking of Marcus Aurelius' Stoicism, namely, first, living in harmony with nature, where things beyond human control are on the scale of nature. Second, regarding the treatment of others, the actions and words of others are beyond human control, and what should be controlled is their perception. Third, self-restraint is in of control of humans. Everything that comes from out of control will not affect and interfere if in of control can be managed with the argumentation that humans as a whole are human beings that have a ratio; then this is the core of Marcus Aurelius' Stoicism.

Theology is one of the critical factors for the survival of Muslims. However, with the shift in all aspects included in the lives of Muslims, theology cannot adjust or even solve all the problems occurring in the body of Islam. This research aimed at discussing and studying the theology of Leftist Islam in the thought of Hassan Hanafi to obtain its authenticity. The method used in this study was the historical-philosophical method. This historical method is to describe the history and development of Islamic theology. In comparison, the philosophical method examines a character's thoughts and analyzes the thoughts being studied. The results of this study explained that Leftist Islam is an idea, concept, and new theology initiated by Hassan Hanafi in response to the challenges of the West. In the Leftist Islam, Hassan Hanafi has three crucial elements, namely revitalizing the classical scientific tradition, opposing Western civilization, and analyzing the reality of Muslims.

Tafsīr al-Azhar by HAMKA is a work of Malay tafsīr that exists to answer social problems in the Indonesian context in the era when HAMKA lived. Therefore, contextualization is the dominant feature in HAMKA's interpretation; it is considered in line with Fazlur Rahman's double movement hermeneutic principle. This research is a literature review analyzing Tafsīr al-Azhar by HAMKA using Fazlur Rahman's double movement hermeneutic perspective to find compatibility between the two. In general, this research finds that, in Tafsīr al-Azhar, HAMKA applies Fazlur Rahman's double movement hermeneutic method; especially when he attempts to get in and answer current issues by taking the main Qur'an principles through the intertextuality process and exploring the sociohistorical setting of a verse.
