Abstract

This study aims to examine market reactions caused by stock split events in the trade, service and investment sectors from 2016 to 2021. This study used 13 sample companies with 5 sub-sectors as measured by the variables Trading Volume Activity, Abnormal Return and Share Transaction Value. The analysis technique used is event windows by comparing data 5 days before and 5 days after the stock split event. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive analysis, Kolmogorov-Smirnof normality test, Paired Sample T-test hypothesis testing. From these tests, the results show that there is no significant difference in Trading Volume Activity and Share Transaction Value and the data remains the same between before and after the stock split. In contrast to Abnormal Return experiencing significant differences with a decreasing probability value. This shows that the stock split event that occurred received a negative response from the market as evidenced by a decrease in Abnormal Return and no change in Trading Volume Activity and Share Transaction Value.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the effects of market risk (stock beta) across nine sectors of companies in capital market on the return produced during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia in the short and the long term. This quantitative research uses two variables: stock returns in composite index obtained from idx.co.id as the dependent variable and market risk (stock beta) and the index of the nine sectors as the independent variables. The results of the analysis indicate that four hypotheses were proven in the long term; they are agricultural sector, basic industry sector, consumption goods sector, and property sector. The said finding indicates that, during the Covid-19 pandemic, anytime the stock price and the market risk increase, the stock return of the composite index will drop. Hence, when the stock price and the market risk of those sector rise, the number of investors buying the four sectoral stock will decrease. In the short term, three hypotheses were accepted; they are in agricultural sector, basic industry sector, and consumption goods sector. During the Covid-19 pandemic, any increase in the sectors’ stock price and market risk will be followed by a decline in the composite index’s return because when the stock price and market risk increase, the number of investors

One of the things consumers buy online is a risk. Another important factor influencing online shopping is convenience. In addition, another factor that influences the purchase of products from Tokopedia as an online medium is a belief. Research objectives 1) To find out if the risk variables have a significant effect on the ease of transactions via Tokopedia account (a case study of UMKM Setia Jaya Motor). 2) To find out if the Belief variable has a significant effect on the ease of transacting via Tokopedia account (a case study of UMKM Setia Jaya Motor). 3) To find out if the risk and belief variables have a significant effect on the ease of transacting via Tokopedia account (a case study of UMKM Setia Jaya Motor). From the results of testing the research hypothesis, there is a partiallyl significant effect between risk on Ease of Transactions Via Tokopedia Account. The partially significant influence between belief on Ease of Transactions Via Tokopedia Account. The simultaneous significant influence between risk and belief on Ease of Transactions Via Tokopedia Account.

Abstract

One of the most significant risks for banks, including digital banks, is credit risk. Bank credit risk can be influenced by a number of things, one of which is increasing financial inclusion. Then there is the prime lending rate which is used as a variable control in this study. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the impact of financial inclusion on credit risk in Indonesian digital banks. This study employs panel data from four Indonesian digital banks from 2015 to 2021. Panel data regression is the regression model that was used, and the hypothesis was tested with the t test, the F test, and the coefficient of determination. Financial inclusion has a positive and insignificant effect on digital bank credit risk in Indonesia on the accessibility dimension, a negative and significant effect on the usage dimension, and for prime lending rates it has a positive and insignificant effect on digital bank credit risk in Indonesia. This indicates that digital banks in Indonesia can reduce their credit risk by utilizing financial services. So that increasing financial inclusion through the use of financial services must be further improved while still paying attention to the prudence principle.

Abstract

Gold futures have gained significant attention from investors in recent years, as demonstrated by the increasing trading volumes on the Jakarta Futures Exchange. Gold futures as a popular derivative instrument offers attractive returns and the potential to optimize portfolio allocation, making it one of the most preferred asset classes for investors. This study aims to analyze the influence of key factors such as the US dollar index, S&P 500 stock index, US inflation, FED funds rate, and crude oil futures on gold futures prices. The aim of the study is to provide investors, financial practitioners, and academics with a better understanding of the factors that can influence gold futures prices. This study utilized Error Correction Model as the research method, which effectively addresses the challenges associated with non-stationary time series data and enables the identification of short-term and long-term relationships among variables. The results show that the US dollar index has an inverse relationship with gold futures prices, influencing both the short and long-term. In the long run, an increase in the S&P 500 stock index and US inflation is anticipated to drive up gold futures prices. However, the impact of FED fund rates on gold futures prices is insignificant, primarily due to their low volatility. In addition, crude oil futures, as an alternative asset, have an adverse impact on gold futures prices over the long term.

Abstract

Technological sophistication in the era of globalization continues to encourage banks to provide the latest breakthroughs through modern lifestyles and easy access to banking services through electronic banking. In its implementation, electronic banking offers several services that can be used by customers, including mobile banking and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). In line with technological developments, the complexity of banking risks has also increased from a credit perspective due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine the effect of electronic banking and risk profiles on banking profitability in Indonesia within 5 years of observation starting in 2017-2021. The research sample consisted of 5 conventional banks that met the purposive sampling criteria using multiple linear regression methods. Previously, a model specification test was carried out, with the results of the Random Effect Model (REM) as the best model to be used in this study. The data used in this study also passed the classical assumption test. Research results show that the number of ATM and NPL has a significant effect on ROA. Meanwhile, mobile banking has no significant effect on ROA.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the influence of revealed comparative advantage, land area, exchange rate and economic growth on coffee exports of 4 world countries in 2010-2020.  This study used a quantitative research approach. The results of the study said that each variable, namely revealed comparative advantage, land area, exchange rate and economic growth on coffee exports of 4 world countries in 2010-2020 had a significant influence.  With an expansion in land area, it can increase the amount of coffee that can be harvested and produced so that it can affect a country's export performance. The occurrence of exchange rates cannot be separated from the deappreciation or appreciation of each exchange rate in each country. With a decrease in the exchange rate, it can affect community or government activities in carrying out activities in the form of exports.  The value of coffee exports we see the superiority of the commodity by measuring its comparative index owned by the country, it will be compared. Economic growth can be determined due to an increase in goods and services produced by a country. So that the demand for certain goods increases and will affect the exports of a particular country. Inflation can occur due to high public consumption, excess market liquidity that triggers speculation and distribution of goods that are not smooth.
