Abstract

The rehabilitation of irrigation pumps plays a crucial role in ensuring sufficient water availability for rice fields in Gampong Limpong, Darussalam District. A significant challenge faced by farmers in this region is the malfunctioning of irrigation pumps, which leads to suboptimal water distribution. This issue directly affects agricultural productivity and the welfare of farmers. Through rehabilitation efforts, damaged pumps are either repaired or replaced with more efficient units. The rehabilitation process involves the identification of damages, repair of key components, and operational trials to verify optimal pump performance. Results from this initiative indicate a more stable availability of irrigation water, thereby enhancing crop yields for farmers. This rehabilitation not only offers technical solutions but also fosters active community involvement in maintaining the sustainability of the irrigation system. Consequently, this program contributes positively to the development of the agricultural sector in Gampong Limpok.

Abstract

Household waste management in Sorong Regency, especially in Arar Village, faces major challenges in reducing negative impacts on the environment. One effective solution is processing organic waste into liquid organic fertilizer (POC). This fertilizer not only reduces the amount of waste but can also increase soil fertility and support more sustainable agriculture. The Community Service Program (PKM) implemented in Arar Village aims to provide training to the community, farmer groups, and PKK mothers on how to make POC from household waste. The methods used in this program include socialization, training, and direct practice of making liquid organic fertilizer using natural ingredients and bioactivators such as EM4. After the training, 80 percent of participants successfully applied the knowledge gained to produce liquid organic fertilizer, which has been proven to increase agricultural yields and support environmental sustainability. The evaluation results show that this program provides significant benefits in reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers and increasing public awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly waste management.

Abstract

Community service activities in Meunasah Teungoh Village aim to increase community participation in the Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) through the use of digital technology, especially WhatsApp groups. This study adopted a participatory approach involving all elements of society, including traditional leaders, youth, and women, to ensure inclusivity in the development planning process. The methods used included an initial survey to identify the level of community awareness and digital literacy, digital literacy training, and collecting aspirations through the polling feature in the WhatsApp group. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in community participation, from 40% in 2023 to 72% in 2024, with a total of 58 proposals collected. The community satisfaction survey also showed that 85% of residents were satisfied with the transparency of information conveyed through the WhatsApp group. However, 15% of residents were dissatisfied, indicating room for improvement. This study concludes that the use of digital technology can strengthen community participation in the development planning process and recommends the need for mitigation strategies to address dissatisfaction and increase accessibility for all residents. This activity is expected to be a model for other villages in implementing the principles of participatory and sustainable development.
