Abstract

The success improvement on thehealth aspects is prominently directed by attempts to reduce the mortality rate of both infants and toddlers. One of the efforts is routinely give the complete vaccinations for them. This study aims to examine the correlation of the knowledge levels and role of health personnel of the Integrated Heath Post to provide pentabioand measles immunizationsfor toddlers particularly the ones under three-year old in Buliang Health Centre of BatuAji. The research design used in this study was a descriptive analytic design with 21 respondents chosen through total sampling method. The data was analyzed by chi square statistical test at significance level of 95%. The results show that 17 respondents have good knowledgeand able to implement their knowledge on vaccinations well. From 17 respondents whom actively engaged in vaccination process, 13 of them are able to perform the pentabio and measles vaccinations well. Besides, from the chi square test, it is obtained p-value > 0.05, thus, it can be concluded that there is no significant correlation of the knowledge levels and role of health personnel of the Integrated Heath Post to provide pentabioand measles vaccinationsfor under three-year toddlers. Finally, it is expected that both the health personnel of the integrated health post as well as the civil society to actively take a part in increasing the health quality of the children through giving complete and proper vaccinations for them.

Abstract

It was documented that the incidence of anemia occured to 37.1% prenatal women in Indonesia. The higher rate moreover happened in Karimun district noted in 2016 reached 49.5% in which 35.1% cases happened in West Meral by Desember 2016. Hence, this study aims to determine the factors influencing the prenatal mothers compliance to take the fe tablet during the pregnancy. This research designed as an analytic survey research of cross sectional study approach. This study was conducted in West Meral dated from May to June 2017. As the population, the researchers took all third-trimester prenatal women, in which from all respondents, 43 respondents was taken as the sample through total sampling technique. The questionnaire was utilized as the research instrument where the data gathered further analyzed by univariate and bivariate Chi-Square statistical test. Based on the analysis, it is resulted 61.5% of prenatal women with good knowledge level routinely took the fe tablet, 58.6% mothers with negative attitude found not to take the fe tablet regularly, and 75% mothers whom did not get family support also not take the fe tablet frequently. These results portray that there no significant correlation of the knowledge level of the prenatal women compliance to their attitude and the family support in taking the fe tablet regularly during the pregnancy period. In the future, it is expected that the family to give their support to the prenatal mothers and also the health personnel to give advices about the important of the fe tablet during the pregnancy for both the mother and the infant.

Abstract

The exclusive breastfeeding is very much recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) within the first 6 months of infants’ growth and to be continued for the next two years or more. Ironically, the mothers of the infants often do not pay attention on this issue since of their lack of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. Therefore, this study aims to identify the correlation of the knowledge levels and attitude of infants’ mothers, specifically 7 to 10 month newborns, about the exclusive breastfeeding and how they manage to give their infants their exclusive breast milk. In turns, researchers designed an analytic survey of cross sectional approach to examine this problem. This study took time for 3 months started from February to May 2017 at BaloiPermai Community Health Centre. The total of the population investigated was 30 respondents of 7 to 11 month newborns’ mothers using accidental sampling technique with questionnaires as the data instrument.  The data collected from the questionnaire was analyzed by Chi-Square test. For the result, it is noted that 20 mothers were well-informed respondents yet did not breastfeed their babies exclusively indicated from p value = 1.000, besides, 10 mothers possessed good level attitude, nevertheless did not breastfeed exclusively specified form p value = 1.000. From these findings, it can be drawn a line that there is no significant correlation on the level of mothers’ knowledge and attitude toward the feeding of the exclusive breastfeeding to their under 1 year old infants in BaloiPermai Community Health Centre. Finally, it is expected that all officers as well as the facilities of the Community Health Centre to be able to support the mothers in exclusive breastfeeding program in the future.

Abstract

WHO informs that incidence of anemia. Its incidence is around 20 to 89% with 11g%  (g/dl) standard. Anemic pregnancy in Indonesia shows high rates, they are 3.8% on first trimester, 13.6% on second trimester and 24.8% on third trimester. 70% pregnant women in Indonesia have anemia due to poor nutrition. This study is to know the correlation between adherence to take Fe tablets and anemia status during pregnancy at SeiPancurHelath Center of Batam City in 2017. This study was analytical survey with cross sectional approach. Data collection was done through questionnaire distribution and Hb test. The sampling technique was accidental sampling on 40 respondents. The study was conducted on June 2017 in which data analysis was through chi square. 17,5% respondents were discipline while the rest (82.5%) were not. 70% respondents got anemia whereas another 30% did not. There was correlation between adherence to take Fe tablets and anemia status during pregnancy at SeiPancurHelath Center of Batam City in 2017 with p value 0.006 < 0.05.

Abstract

Participation in family planning will contribute significantly of population growth and treatment of reproductive. Factors that cause low men in the KB-lack of knowledge, the husband's attitude about ignorance and practice and the understanding that KB affairs is a woman's business. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of husband knowledge about contraceptive methods MOP (male surgery method) with the attitude of the husband in the KB MOP work area Health Center Sei Heat Batam Year 2017. This research is an analytical descriptive with cross sectional Sampling using purposive sampling method. This study was conducted in May-June 2017 with the number of respondents as many as 99 people. Data analysis using Chi-Square technique.From the resear ch result, the majority of husbands with less knowledge are 43 people (43,4%) and majority of husbands have negative attitude that is 66 people (66,7%). From the statistical test results obtained p = 0,000 <0,05 then there is a relationship between the husband's knowledge about KB MOP with the attitude of the husband in the KB MOP. It is expected that Sei Panas Health Center to provide health education to the husbands, especially about KB MOP MOP contraception.

Abstract

The breast milk production of newborn’s mother is influenced by various factors for instance the frequency of breastfeeding, infants birth weight, gestational age, and maternal nutritional status. Hence, this study aims to determine the correlation of newborns birth weight and gestational ages on frequency of the mothers in breastfeeding their babies. This study is designed as an analytic survey research with cross sectional approach. For the population, the researchers took 0 to 23 month infants’ mothers to be investigated, and further, 90 respondents were derived as the sample through simple random sampling technique which conducted in June 2017. As the research instrument, questionnaires were distributed to the respondents. The data gathered was analyzed by Chi Square statistical test. The results expose that most of the newborns, close to 81.1%, were born with normal body weight, on the other hand, 68.9% considered to meet the due-date of the gestational age, and 80.0% mothers experienced high breastfeeding frequency. It was noted the correlation of babies birth weight with p value = 0,005 and gestational age with p value = 0,003 to the mothers breastfeeding frequency. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation of the newborns birth weight and gestational age of the pregnancy on the mothers’ breastfeeding frequency, particularly in the service area of Sei Harapan Integrated Health Post (posyandu) of Sekupang, Batam in 2017.  Finally, it is hoped the respondents to dig out more information from various sources to enhance their knowledge and understanding on the factors that potentially affect the breastfeeding.

Abstract

In terms of teaching and learning activities, motivation leads the students to the learning achievement or outcomes, whereas on the other hand, the Competency Test for Midwives set as a benchmark or standart of the midwifery education quality. It Anugerah Bintan Midwifery Academy these past three years that there was a diminishing point on the results as noted sequentially 69.80%, 86.63%, and 72.15%. Therefore, this study aims to determine wether there is a correlation associated to the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations with the students’ learning outcomes. For the research design, the researchers select an analitycal survey of cross sectional approach. By employing the total sampling technique, the population of this study respondents in total. This study lasted six months from February to August 2017. The data were collected by distributing the questionnaires to the respondents and the academic transcript of students were also used to fortify. Afterwards, the data gathered  was analyzed by Chi-Square statistical test. The result of the study shows that 68.9% of students were intrinsically motivated and 62.2% of them were extrinsically motivated with 66.7% met the learning outcomes satisfaction. It is ensued that there is a correlation between the intrinsic motivation and the learning outcomes with (p value = 0.000) and (p value = 0,000) for the extrinsic motivation and the learning achievement of students. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations to the learning outcomesor achievements of second grade-student of Anugerah Bintan Midwifery Academy of Tanjungpinang in 2017. Finally, for future researchers, it is suggested to be able to enlarge and optimize more both the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations.

Abstract

Tetanus neonatorum is one of the leading causes of infant mortality in Indonesia which has arisen as a result of low coverage of antenatal care and TT immunization. Based on data from Tanjung Balai Community Health Clinic 2017 that visit of K-1 expectant in February as many as 80respondents and March 89 visits, but there was a decline in April that was only 83 visits. This research is a research in the form of analytic survey with cross sectional study design. The method used was accidental sampling obtained 56 respondents. Data collection was by using questionnaire and conducted in June 2017. From the statistical chi square test obtained p value = 0,000 which means the value of p value is smaller than 0,05 (0,000 <0,05). Thus Ho is rejected, this indicates that there is a correlation between the knowledge level and the compliance of TT immunization during pregnancy. The result of chi square statistical test is obtained p value = 0,001 meaning p value is smaller than 0,05 (0,001 <0,05). Thus Ho was denied, this indicated that there is a correlation between the respondents' attitude with expectant obedient to implement TT immunization during pregnancy in Karimun District Karimun

Abstract

Exclusive breast milk essential nutrients for infants, Exclusive breastfeeding is a Maternal and Infant Health Service Indicator in Puskesmas. The purpose of this research is to know the factors related to the knowledge of Nifas mother about Exclusive Breastfeeding at Baloi Permai Health Center of Batam in 2017. Analytical Research of cross sectional method, the population of all postpartum mothers who come to Puskesmas Baloi Permai in May-June 2017. The results of the study of 35 respondents good knowledge 19 respondents (54.3%), and knowledgeable less 16 respondents (45.7%), Knowledge good majority of middle-educated 9 respondents (25.7%), majority aged 25-35 years 10 respondents (28.6%), mother with gravida 2-4 people 8 respondents (22,9%). Data analysis using stastitic chi square test, there is a significant relationship between maternal knowledge with education factor, age and parity. It is expected that postpartum can follow the activities undertaken at Baloi Health Center to improve knowledge.

Abstract

It is often that youth people vulnerably get sexual abuse due to lack of information on self-protection guidelines against the sexual harassment. From several cases of the harassments experienced by the teenager, the ratio of the occurrence were high which was noted up to 50% numbers, such as 80% abuse by the dirty verbal talks, 66% by the gaze full of sexual desire, 52% through certain body part as the sexual symbols, and 56% in form of the sexual seduction. Meanwhile, the harassments with the direct physical contacts had reached the level of 20 % of the teen-age girls. Thus, in this study, the researchers intend to see the impacts of the sex education provision to the knowledge levels of students mainly in handling the sexual harassment. This study employed pretest-posttest one group design using purposive sampling to derive 100 respondents as the sample which conducted from February 2016 to July 2017. The result of the analysis reveals the average score on before sex education provision is 15.67 and after the education accomplished is 24.74. Further, the result of the T-test obtains p-value = 0.00 (p<0.05). This finding indicates a significance difference on the average score on before and after the sex education provision. Therefore, it can be concluded that providing sex education for the students helps a lot in increasing the understanding and knowledge levels of students about sex.
