Abstract

A company called CV HB makes socks based on what its customers want. Bandung is home to CV HB. Several machines, including Santoni, Dakong, Obrass, Stock Steam, and others, are employed in CV HB's sock production process. Numerous personnel who are in charge of running the machinery and performing other production tasks are also a part of the production process. The execution of health and safety protocols has yet to be well-executed in the production sector. The organization saw 24 workplace accidents between 2019 and 2023, including injuries from needles and blades, hands stuck in machinery, brain injuries from machines, slipping down stairs, and many more incidents. In order to address health and safety concerns at CV HB, the research attempts to pinpoint the root causes of workplace mishaps and offer suggestions for enhancement. Hazard and Operability Review (HAZOP) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) were the methodologies used in the investigation. A few suggestions for improvement for the chosen departments are using material handling tools during the material retrieval process, posting warnings about machines with sharp parts, requiring protective gear like masks and gloves, designing foam padding for sharp machine parts, and installing fans.

Abstract

Among the main reasons for the high death rate worldwide are traffic accidents. The most common cause of road accidents is driver fatigue. Not getting enough sleep is one thing that makes people tired. A study on how sleep-deprived sleep-deprived drivers felt about themselves was conducted, and the results showed that they were tired. A potential preventive measure against the driver's extreme weariness is the room steering temperature. The goal of this research is to find the room temperature range that produces the most minor drowsiness is this research's goal. The research used six treatments in a 40-minute driving simulator: hot, cold, pleasant room temperature steering, and monotonous and non-monotonous road conditions. With the Electroencephalogram, one may measure one's state of sleepiness by monitoring brain wave activity. Six treatments were administered to each of the study's four young adult male participants. Teta, alpha, and beta wave powers are derived by processing data from brain wave activity using Matlab R2009A. An ANOVA test is used to discover which factors affect the degree of drowsiness by using the ratio of sleepiness level, which is determined using the equation (θ + α) /β. ANOVA test results indicated that while road conditions and room steering temperature impacted sleepiness, their interaction had no effect. Just the hot-cold level is found to be significantly different by the Tukey and Newman Keuls tests. For sleep-deprived drivers, the temperature differences between hot and cold conditions result in varying drowsiness. The research's practical conclusion is that, for sleep-deprived drivers, a hot temperature range (>26°C–29°C) can result in the lowest level of tiredness.

Abstract

Natural disasters have no time limit and can happen anywhere at any moment. They put human life at risk and can result in both property loss and casualties. Like those at Gamalama volcano, volcanic eruption disasters are constant and incur enormous losses. There are numerous evacuation sites for self-rescue against volcanic eruptions, and knowing the distance to the evacuation sites is necessary to expedite the self-rescue process to reduce the number of victims. Naturally, the areas surrounding the disaster center must be kept clear. To solve this issue, a mechanism for choosing the shortest path via the astar method must be implemented. As part of the astar method, the shortest path is chosen by first figuring out the starting and destination locations, initializing intersections by turning each intersection into a node, adding the node to the open list, calculating it with weights, adding it to the closed list, figuring out potential nodes that lead to the destination, and saving the results. As a consequence of the master method's application, the shortest route—a distance of 3,560 meters—connects the starting point (the Tubo village head office) with the gathering point (the Salerno field). Bypassing every pre-planned path, which is as follows: No. 1 (Jl. Ake Tubo, Tubo) - Node 2 (Ake et al.) - Node 7 (Jl. Batu Angus No.1, Dufa Dufa) - Node 8 (North Sangaji) - Node 9 (Toboleu, Kec. Kota Ternate Utara) - Assembly Point (Salero Field). Keywords: Astar, Volcanic Disaster, and Geographic Information System.

Abstract

In Bandung, coffee has grown to be a way of life and is highly valued. Nestled in Pasir Kaliki Square, specifically on Pasir Kaliki Street, is the Bandung-born coffee shop known as Sumiko. Based on 20 interviews, it is known that 80% of people need to be made aware of Sumiko Coffee Shop; as a result, sales from January 2022 to December 2022 fell short of the objective. Low awareness is the reason behind the need for more sales. In order to raise brand recognition, efforts must be made. First, based on interviews and literature reviews, identify the elements that affect brand awareness—such as advertising, social media marketing campaigns, and word-of-mouth—in the following stages. Distributing questionnaires was the method used to collect data. SmartPLS4 software was then used to process the data from the questionnaire. According to the data processing results, advertising and word-of-mouth factors considerably impact brand awareness. Giving out flyers, making promotional boards, showcasing the uniqueness of the product, allowing reviews and comments, and setting up promotions where customers who bring in a certain number of friends receive a discount or other incentives are some examples of proposals that can be made.

Abstract

Toko Retail X, a retail store, provides a variety of daily needs. The Southeast Sulawesi province's Baubau City is home to Toko Retail X, which was formed in 2010. Toko Retail X has been around recently. As a result of Toko Retail X's strategy of constantly adding new products, it is believed that the reduction in profitability results from a need for more knowledge about internal and external elements that affect the business environment. Several techniques were used in the study process, such as the QSPM (quantitative strategic planning matrix), SWOT strategy matrix, and analysis of Toko Retail X's internal and external elements. Toko Retail X's advantages and disadvantages are among the identified internal factors. Porter's Five Forces Model, Toko Retail X prospects and threats, and the IE matrix are among the external aspects identified to ascertain the company's current situation. The SWOT and QSPM strategy matrices will also be utilized to develop and choose corporate strategies. Toko Retail X's position in Region II, where this position signifies growth and build, is indicated by the research results. This means that the developed strategy can concentrate on product development to increase the applications of the product, market penetration to grow the existing businesses, and market development to reach new markets with our current products. The eleven options that make up the final approach have been given a ranking. Developing social media to showcase Toko Retail X's details and answer customer inquiries about the products they wish to purchase is the highest ranking.

Abstract

PT Adyawinsa Stamping Industries (ASI) is one of the automotive industry companies operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, there are government policies that companies need to follow to continue operating safely. Policies related to COVID-19 need to be implemented in conjunction with the company's Occupational Safety and Health (K3). Based on interviews conducted with company representatives, an evaluation is required in order to find out the implementation of policies related to COVID-19 in line with K3 in the Welding Department. Initial observations are carried out to determine the actual conditions and identify operational activities. K3 evaluation is carried out by applying the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to determine the potential hazards. The results of the FMEA evaluation provide a series of hazard priorities and potential dangers that guide the design of improvement proposals. The proposal's design was implemented using the Participatory Ergonomics (PE) method involving several stakeholders. The improvement proposal is the result of identifying the needs of the Welding Department workers based on discussions conducted through the PE method. The discussion resulted in a proposed design in the form of reviewing and controlling SOPs and conditions in the field, implementing periodic safety training, and installing instruments to remind workers of K3 in operational activities. The instruments designed in the study are several infographic materials regarding implementing K3 and COVID-19 prevention in the workplace.

Abstract

People in this era have various needs in carrying out life. The needs that need to be used by the community have multiple kinds of things, such as clothing. Clothes used by the community go through various processes before becoming finished goods. Before becoming ready-to-wear, clothes came from raw materials such as fabric rolls. There are multiple production processes, such as yarn, fabric, chemical dyeing, etc. One of the places where fabrics are produced is textile factories. A textile factory is a company that produces products in the form of fabrics. The manufacture of fabrics that occur in textile factories must involve mixing chemicals so that the fabric has good quality. The process of mixing these chemical substances involves workers, and the chemical substances used are classified as Hazardous and Toxic Materials (B3), so these chemicals can have a bad impact on their workers if there is physical contact with the worker's body. Exposure to chemicals in the worker's body will cause a risk of developing Occupational Diseases (PAK). Therefore, in this study, data will be processed to prevent workers' risk of Occupational Diseases (PAK) using the HIRADC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control) method. The proposal given in this study is a proposal for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for preventive measures against Occupational Diseases (PAK) for workers

Abstract

Intercity travel is a transportation service that facilitates movement between cities and cities. Aya Travel is here to facilitate transportation between Bandung and Depok. Aya Travel was established in 2005 with a fleet of 16 units. As time passes, there are travel competitors whose presence makes the sales of Aya travel departure tickets decline in 2016. This can be caused by the quality of other travel services being better than Aya Travel, so lately, people have switched from Aya Travel. The phenomenon is that what Aya travel consumers expect is not what they receive. Service quality measurement is carried out to respond to the above phenomenon using SERVQUAL. In the process, initial attributes from literature studies and Critical Incident Techniques were collected. After the attributes are collected, the questionnaire is distributed. The Factoring process is carried out to produce factors that are formed so that it is easier for Aya Travel to find out in which dimension it turns out that the quality of the service is inferior. After the SEVQUAL measurement process, an important Performance Analysis process was carried out to find improvement priorities from Aya Travel. The IPA method will map attributes into quadrants to produce priorities ranging from those that must be improved immediately to those that do not add value to the quality of Aya Travel's services. A Factor Analysis was produced from 22 attributes grouped into four factors, and it turned out that the display factor had the worst idea. The measurement of Aya travel service quality produces six attributes that need to be improved, which are those in the second quadrant (Consternate here) in the IPA diagram. For the proposed improvement, a discussion was carried out with Aya Travel so that the improvement proposal could be under the opinions and input of Aya Travel.
