Abstract

Inflammation is a condition that generally occurs in patients with joint-related diseases or injuries that are characterized by pain. In treating pain, the drugs often used are NSAIDs, especially COX-2, which have advantages for patients with Gastrointestinal (GI) problems and are relatively safe for patients with a Cardiovascular (CV) disease history. In the retail pharmacy, the Sanisphere data shows that 33% of pharmacy transaction sales volume is driven by recommendations from pharmacists and frontline employees. Pharmaceutical companies have a significant opportunity to increase demand through pharmacist recommendations in the retail segment, especially for NSAIDs COX-2. This research focuses on implementing an effective marketing strategy using the AISAS Model. Qualitative and Quantitative methods use open and closed-question surveys to analyze the perspective of pharmacists and frontliners regarding influencing factors and marketing activities and tools effectively implemented in the retail pharmacy segment. Competitors, marketing mix, Segmentation, targeting, and positioning have also been analyzed in this research. The research results show that pharmacists consider the following factors for COX-2: Drug indications and pain symptoms, Drug Safety, Drug risk, Drug quality, strength, Onset and effectiveness in treating pain, product knowledge, marketing activities, patient economics, and patient’s request on drug molecule. Several practical marketing activities are applied at each stage of the AISAS Model, Detailing product knowledge, merchandise, discounts, seminars, webinars, marketing activities, sponsorships, and sales visiting activities. Pharmaceutical companies can implement this effective marketing activity proposal to increase demand for COX-2 NSAIDs in pharmacies through pharmacist and frontline recommendations

Abstract

The rapid growth of the coffee shop industry has led to an increased interest in understanding consumer behavior, particularly in urban areas like Makassar. This study aims to analyze the influence of demographic factors and the marketing mix on purchasing decisions at modern and traditional coffee shops in Makassar. Specifically, it examines the role of age, gender, monthly consumption, product, price, place, and promotion in shaping consumer preferences. The research adopts a quantitative approach, employing logistic regression to assess the relationship between demographic and marketing mix variables (independent variables) and purchasing decisions (dependent variable). Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 184 respondents who frequently visit coffee shops in Makassar. Prior to analysis, the validity and reliability of the research instruments were thoroughly tested to ensure data accuracy. The findings reveal that demographic factors, including age, gender, and monthly consumption, significantly influence purchasing decisions. Younger consumers tend to prefer modern coffee shops, while those with higher consumption levels are more inclined to choose traditional coffee shops. Interestingly, the marketing mix variables—product, price, place, and promotion—do not show a significant impact on purchasing decisions, diverging from the results of some previous studies. These results have important implications for coffee shop managers in tailoring their strategies to target specific consumer demographics more effectively. Furthermore, the study underscores the need for a deeper exploration of other potential factors beyond the marketing mix that could influence purchasing decisions in the coffee shop industry.

Abstract

Abstract Improving the standard of living requires active government intervention, often in the form of policies aimed at encouraging domestic and foreign capital investment. This study aims to analyze the multiplier effect of incentive and investment facilitation policies on the well-being of residents in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Specifically, it examines the impact of these policies on key socio-economic indicators, including the Human Development Index (HDI), regional GDP, unemployment rate, poverty rate, and income inequality. This research employs descriptive and correlational quantitative methods, utilizing a multiple linear regression model to analyze the relationship between foreign and domestic investment (independent variables) and socio-economic indicators (dependent variables). The data used were sourced from the Central Office of Public Prosperity, statistical agencies, and other relevant institutions. The findings reveal that incentive and investment facilitation policies directly increase the value of investments, which positively and significantly impacts regional GDP and the Human Development Index. Furthermore, investment growth is associated with a reduction in poverty levels and income inequality. However, increased investment does not significantly affect the unemployment rate. These results suggest that while investment policies are effective in improving several key indicators, their impact on job creation requires further consideration. These findings underscore the importance of government oversight in ensuring that investors comply with regulations, adopt labor-intensive strategies, and prioritize the use of local labor. By doing so, central and local governments can achieve both short-term and long-term development goals, fostering inclusive economic growth and reducing disparities.

Abstract

The palm oil industry plays an important role in meeting the world's vegetable oil needs, but faces sustainability challenges such as deforestation, land degradation, and land conflicts. This study analyzes the implementation of deforestation-free green supply chain practices in Kandis District, Siak Regency, Riau. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The results show that companies have started to implement ISPO certification standards, including environmental impact management, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, having a significant impact in supporting the palm oil sustainability industry. However, in the implementation of green supply chains, challenges were found in the data collection of supply chains up to the farm level, due to the lack of trust of farmers and the absence of incentives, so it has not been able to ensure deforestation-free supply chains. The jurisdictional approach works to strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration and accelerate the adoption of sustainable palm oil practices and green supply chains. The conclusion of this study confirms that the implementation of deforestation-free green supply chains can be achieved through the support of improved policies, governance, accelerated ISPO certification, farmer assistance and encouraging partnerships between companies and smallholders, in support of sustainable palm oil practices as a whole.

Abstract

Earnings management is a common practice among companies to adjust financial reports to achieve specific objectives. Factors such as financial distress, leverage, and firm size are suspected to influence earnings management practices. This study aims to analyze the effect of financial distress, leverage, and firm size on earnings management in infrastructure companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2022 period. This research uses secondary data in the form of annual reports, with a total sample of 78 companies. The analysis method employed is panel data regression to examine the relationship between independent variables and earnings management as the dependent variable. The results indicate that financial distress has no effect on earnings management, leverage has no effect on earnings management, and firm size also has no effect on earnings management. These findings imply that these factors are not the primary determinants of earnings management practices in Indonesian infrastructure companies, highlighting the need for further research by considering other more relevant variables.
