Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) in enhancing career guidance services for senior high school students. Career guidance in schools is often not based on objective data regarding students’ abilities and potential, resulting in less accurate career decision-making. Therefore, the use of psychological instruments such as DAT is considered a solution to comprehensively map students’ talents, interests, and academic abilities. This research employed a library research method by analyzing various sources such as journals, books, and relevant research reports related to the implementation of DAT in career guidance. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify patterns, comparisons, and implications of DAT utilization in guidance and counseling services. The findings indicate that DAT is effective in helping guidance and counseling teachers identify students’ ability profiles in various aspects such as verbal, numerical, abstract reasoning, spatial visualization, clerical speed and accuracy, and mechanical reasoning. This information can be used to develop more personalized and targeted career guidance programs, and to assist students in selecting educational pathways or occupations aligned with their potential. In conclusion, the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) is a relevant and significant assessment tool for strengthening career guidance implementation in senior high schools. Integrating DAT into counseling services can improve students’ career decision-making through objective, measurable, and psychology-based data

Abstract

Prophet Muhammad SAW is a central figure in Islamic teachings who is seen as a perfect human being and a role model for humanity. However, in Western orientalist and Islamological studies, the personal life of the Prophet SAW, especially regarding his marriages with several women, is often highlighted negatively. Accusations such as pedophilia in his marriage to Aisha RA and the assumption of being sexually insane due to the practice of polygamy are issues that are often raised without understanding the historical and sociological context behind it. The purpose of this study is to find out the history and explain the motives of Prophet Muhammad's marriage and to determine and discuss the social implications of Prophet Muhammad's marriage. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data is obtained through a literature review from various sources, both primary and secondary, related to the topic. In addition, historical methods are used which include heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Historical and sociological approaches are used to examine the Prophet's marriage. The results of the study show that the marriage of Prophet Muhammad SAW cannot be understood as a purely personal matter, but rather as part of a prophetic mission that encompasses social, legal, educational, and spiritual dimensions. Each marriage carries contextual and universal wisdom, and aims to protect vulnerable groups and strengthen Islamic values. From a sociological perspective, marriage is a strategy for social transformation from a tribal system to an inclusive society based on the principles of justice and togetherness in Islam

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of group counseling using self-management techniques to overcome academic procrastination, which is the behavior of delaying tasks that can reduce achievement and increase stress, in six students at SMK SMTI Bandar Lampung. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected from interviews, observations, and documentation of students, guidance counselors, and the principal. The counseling process was carried out through systematic stages, starting from assessment, goal setting, technique application, to evaluation, where students were guided to recognize their habits and the impact of their behavior. The results of the study proved that this intervention was very effective. The six students successfully changed their negative mindsets and behaviors into positive ones. They became more motivated, able to control themselves, and submit their assignments on time, thereby overcoming their academic procrastination. Overall, group counseling with self-management techniques proved to be a successful method not only in raising awareness but also in equipping students with the ability to think critically and consistently manage their academic responsibilities.

Abstract

Etika dakwah merupakan aspek fundamental dalam aktivitas penyampaian pesan Islam, karena menentukan kualitas pesan dan dampak sosial dari proses dakwah. Tulisan ini membahas konsep etika dakwah dalam perspektif Islam dengan meninjau prinsip-prinsip dasar yang bersumber dari Al-Qur'an, hadis, serta praktik Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu’ Alaihi Wasallam sebagai komunikator utama Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui kajian literatur terhadap buku dan jurnal ilmiah nasional maupun internasional yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa etika dakwah tidak hanya mencakup aspek moral komunikator, tetapi juga menyentuh tanggung jawab sosial, empati komunikatif, dan kejujuran dalam penyampaian pesan. Di era digital, etika dakwah perlu menyesuaikan diri dengan dinamika komunikasi virtual agar pesan dakwah tetap efektif dan bermartabat.

Abstract

Environmental damage in Indonesia remains a serious problem, despite an increase in the National Environmental Quality Index (IKLH). The involvement of religious educational institutions, particularly Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), is a potential strategy in building ecological awareness among young generations, especially Generation Z students at pesantren. As a generation that is digitally savvy while also guardians of pesantren traditions, Generation Z students have the ability to form pesantren-based environmental change movements. This study aims to describe the eco-literacy habitus model of Generation Z pesantren students through a library research approach using a descriptive qualitative method. The study focuses on the integration of Islamic values, pesantren education, and the characteristics of Generation Z in shaping eco-literate habits. Referring to recent academic literature, it was found that the process of ecoliteracy habituation in the context of pesantren involves four main dimensions: cognitive (head), affective (heart), psychomotor (hands), and spiritual (spirit). Generation Z santri are able to internalize ecological values based on Islam due to their digital skills and social adaptability. This study recommends strengthening the pesantren ecopedagogy curriculum in synergy with digital literacy and environmental fiqh.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Islamic guidance and counseling (ICC) in improving the spiritual quality of multicultural societies. The background of this research is based on the challenges of social life in Indonesia, which is characterized by cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity, which has the potential to give rise to conflict and spiritual crises. Islamic guidance and counseling is seen as a strategic tool for building community spirituality, strengthening tolerance, and fostering moderate attitudes. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation for validation. The results show that the implementation of Islamic guidance and counseling includes individual counseling, group counseling, multicultural dialogue, and the use of digital media in da'wah (Islamic outreach). The impact is increased spiritual awareness, strengthened moral values, and the realization of social harmony. This study concludes that Islamic guidance and counseling plays a significant role in building a religious, inclusive, and harmonious multicultural society. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of counselors and institutional support is necessary so that Islamic guidance and counseling can function more effectively in diverse social contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Instagram-based digital psychoeducation in reducing stress levels among followers of the @dearcounseling account. A pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants consisted of 40 individuals selected through purposive sampling, with criteria including moderate to high stress levels and willingness to participate in the intervention program. The research instrument was a 30-item stress questionnaire that demonstrated strong validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.885). The intervention, referred to as the stress defeater program, was delivered through educational content and cyber counseling services via Instagram. The results indicate a significant reduction in participants’ stress levels following the intervention, as reflected in the decrease of the average score from 79 in the pretest to 48 in the posttest. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test revealed an Asymp. Sig value of 0.00 (< 0.05), confirming that the Instagram-based digital psychoeducation intervention was effective in lowering stress levels. These findings suggest that social media platforms can serve as innovative, accessible, and relevant tools for psychoeducation and cyber counseling to promote mental well-being in the digital era

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of individual counseling using the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach in the process of mental health recovery among inmates at the Class IIA Narcotics Correctional Institution in Bandar Lampung. The background of this research is based on the high prevalence of mental health disorders among inmates, influenced by the pressures of the correctional environment, past life experiences, and limited social support. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive field research design. The research subjects consist of one counselor and four inmates selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include non-participant observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation, while data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of CBT in individual counseling is carried out through several stages, namely initial assessment, psychoeducation, and intervention. At the assessment stage, inmates generally experience anxiety, stress, and difficulties in adapting. The psychoeducation stage helps inmates understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, thereby increasing self-awareness. Meanwhile, at the intervention stage, techniques such as cognitive restructuring, self-talk, and relaxation are proven to help inmates transform negative thinking patterns into more rational ones and improve emotional control and adaptive behavior. Observational findings also indicate positive changes among inmates, including improved emotional regulation, better social interactions, and increased participation in rehabilitation activities. The conclusion of this study indicates that CBT-based individual counseling is effective in supporting inmates’ mental health recovery. This approach not only reduces levels of anxiety and depression but also enhances self-control, positive thinking patterns, and readiness for rehabilitation and social reintegration. Therefore, CBT is recommended to be implemented systematically and sustainably within correctional institution rehabilitation programs.

Abstract

Dimensi budaya dalam konteks konseling lintas budaya di indonesia merupakan nilai luhur, atau keyakinan, dan pola pemikiran yang mendasari prilaku konselor dalam melaksanakan konseling terhadap klien yang berlatar belakang budaya yang berbeda dengannya. Mengingat klien yang memiliki kekhasan atau keberagaman sikap yang melekat pada prilakunya didalam berintraksi ditengah masyarakat serta berdasarkan budaya yang dimilikinya, maka dibutuhkan konseling dengan pendekatan lintas budaya yang bercirikan keindonesiaan yang ada dinegara kita tercinta ini, agar konselor dapat memahami klien secara mendalam, pada dasarnya diperlukan sebuah pendekekatan yang baik dalam mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh klien itu sendiri. Metode penelitian yang peneliti pakai dalam artikel jurnal ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bersifat studi pustaka (library research) yang menggunkan buku-buku dan literatur-literatur lainnya sebagai objek yang utama. Dalam relasinya dengan bimbingan dan konseling, bisa dikatakan bahwa konseling adalah aktivitas yang sarat berhubungan dengan kultur, pada diri konselor maupun klien telah terbentuk maupun lekat dengan budaya yang dibawanya dari pengalaman hidup masing-masing yang dialami. Maka untuk lebih memahami klien lintas budaya seorang konselor memerlukan pemahan dan pengertian tentang budaya-budaya yang berkembang saat ini menjadi tolak ukur dalam pelaksanaan proses konseling.

Abstract

Drug abuse often results in a range of social challenges following the completion of legal proceedings, including low self-esteem, difficulties in social adaptation, limited independence, and persistent stigma from both family and society. These challenges may hinder the process of social reintegration if not supported by appropriate and structured guidance. The Class I Correctional Center (Bapas) in Bandar Lampung plays a crucial role in delivering individual guidance services aimed at assisting clients in improving their behavior and preparing for successful reintegration into society. This study seeks to examine the implementation of individual guidance in enhancing the social reintegration of clients involved in drug abuse cases. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive field research design. The participants consisted of six informants selected through purposive sampling, including five clients and one correctional counselor. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that the implementation of individual guidance follows several systematic stages, including problem identification, goal setting, planning, implementation, as well as evaluation and follow-up. The guidance process contributes positively to clients’ development, particularly in improving self-control, strengthening responsibility, enhancing social adaptability, and rebuilding social relationships. These outcomes are supported by an empathetic and sustained counseling approach, as well as strong institutional support. In conclusion, individual guidance plays a significant role in facilitating the social reintegration of clients.
