Abstract

Based on data from BP2MI (2024), Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) are predominantly women, comprising 68% of the total. This gender composition has led to a shift in traditional family structures, particularly through the exchange of roles, where wives work abroad while husbands take on domestic responsibilities. This creates a new dynamic in the household with dual and reversed gender roles. This study focuses on husbands of Indonesian migrant workers who have assumed the role of economic educators and financial managers in the family, especially concerning their children's welfare. The research was conducted in Sumbermanjing Wetan District, Malang Regency, with a qualitative method using a phenomenological approach. The study explores several key areas: the family's economic condition, the internalization of economic education in daily life, the husband’s financial management practices, and the perceived impact of this education on children. Findings show that the families' economic conditions are generally unstable and heavily reliant on remittances from the wives. Economic education internalized within the household includes lessons on saving, managing pocket money independently, and practicing wise and frugal consumption—positively influencing the children’s behavior. However, the study reveals that financial management lacks a structured foundation. There is little evidence of proper financial planning, control, utilization, or evaluation. As a result, despite the positive efforts in informal financial education, the overall family financial system remains vulnerable and unsustainable in the long term.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality and price on consumer satisfaction in the Seblak Tampir Ciparay business, Bandung Regency. Consumer satisfaction is a crucial factor in determining business success and sustainability, especially in the culinary sector, which faces a high level of competition. Service quality and competitive pricing are important elements that can attract new customers while maintaining existing ones. In this context, service quality includes service speed, staff friendliness, cleanliness of the place, and the ability to fulfill consumer needs and expectations. Meanwhile, price reflects consumers’ perceptions of the value received compared to the costs incurred. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive and verification methods. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to active consumers of Seblak Tampir Ciparay, who were considered representative of the customer population. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) with the assistance of SPSS version 22. This approach allows researchers not only to describe actual conditions but also to test the influence of service quality and price on consumer satisfaction both partially and simultaneously. The results show that service quality and price have a significant influence on consumer satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. Good service quality increases consumer satisfaction because customers feel valued and receive a satisfying experience. Prices that are appropriate to consumers’ perceived value of the products also affect customers’ decisions to make repeat purchases. Simultaneously, these two variables contribute 50.69% to consumer satisfaction, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors such as location, promotion, or product taste.

Abstract

The textile industry in Bandung Regency plays a strategic role in supporting the regional economy through employment absorption and export contribution. However, intense competition among textile companies demands continuous improvement in employee performance. PT. Family Sejati Abadi, as one of the textile companies in the region, has experienced a decline in performance over the past five years, reflected in reduced productivity and work quality. This decline is suspected to be influenced by poor interpersonal communication and an unbalanced compensation system that does not fully reflect employee contributions. This study aims to determine the effect of interpersonal communication and compensation on employee performance at PT. Eternal True Family. The research method used is descriptive and verification with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed via Google Forms, with responses measured using a Likert scale. Sampling was conducted using a non-probability sampling technique with the Slovin formula to determine the number of respondents. Data analysis included validity and reliability testing, path analysis, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 25 software. The results show that interpersonal communication and compensation have a significant effect on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. Effective communication between leaders and employees fosters better understanding and coordination, while fair compensation increases motivation, job satisfaction, and commitment. Therefore, companies need to strengthen two-way communication and ensure equitable compensation systems to optimize employee performance and maintain competitiveness within the dynamic textile industry environment. The findings of this research are expected to serve as a reference for management in formulating policies related to human resource development. Future research could explore other factors such as leadership style, work environment, or organizational culture that may also influence employee performance in the textile industry context.
