Abstract

The quality of learning has a significant impact on educational success. In the economics subject, inflation teaches why the prices of consumed goods are increasing. This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of class XI students in inflation material by developing mystery picture media in high schools. This research uses a type of classroom action research (PTK) by applying a research design from Kemmis & Taggart which includes four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 36 class XI students at SMAN 1 Taruna Madani East Java. Data collection techniques involve learning results tests, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively, with success indicators determined for more than 80% of students who exceeded the KKM. The results of the research show that the application of the development of pictorial mystery learning media in the Economics subject with inflation material has succeeded in improving student learning outcomes. Before the action, only 26 students or 72.2% exceeded the KKM. In cycle I, the number of students who exceeded the KKM was 77.8%, with an increase in the class average score from 82.3 to 84.8. In cycle II, 34 students or 93.8% exceeded the KKM, with the class average score increasing from 84.8 to 93.8. In conclusion, pictorial mystery learning media has proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes, and overall, this research makes a positive contribution to increasing student academic achievement.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of digital technology on higher education in Indonesia by examining its contributions, challenges, and implications for teaching and learning processes. Using a qualitative descriptive–exploratory design, the research synthesizes findings from literature reviews, interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The results show that digital technology significantly expands educational access, particularly for students in remote regions, through online learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and AI-based learning tools. Digitalization also enhances pedagogical innovation by enabling interactive, flexible, and personalized learning experiences. However, implementation remains uneven due to infrastructural disparities, limited digital competence among educators, and variations in school readiness across regions. The study further identifies emerging social and ethical concerns, including reduced face-to-face interaction, digital dependency, and data-privacy vulnerabilities in online learning platforms. Government initiatives—such as Merdeka Belajar, Palapa Ring, and the provision of “belajar.id” accounts—have contributed to strengthening the digital education ecosystem, yet gaps persist, especially in 3T areas. Overall, the study concludes that maximizing the benefits of digital technology requires comprehensive policies, strengthened infrastructure, continuous digital-literacy training for educators and students, and improved data-protection standards. This research contributes to the literature by offering a holistic understanding of the opportunities and barriers of digital transformation in Indonesian education and provides practical recommendations for ensuring inclusive, sustainable, and equitable implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in accounting through the implementation of the generative learning model in Grade X Accounting students at Vocational High School Negeri 1 Turen during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed a Classroom Action Research design consisting of two cycles, each comprising four stages: action planning, action implementation, observation and interpretation, and analysis and reflection. The participants were 35 students, and data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, tests, and questionnaires. Data validity was ensured using source and technique triangulation, along with content and construct validity. The data analysis procedure followed the Miles and Huberman model, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the generative learning model effectively enhanced students’ understanding and overall learning performance in accounting. Students’ conceptual understanding increased from 70 percent in the first cycle to 80.90 percent in the second cycle. Cognitive learning outcomes also showed an improvement, with mastery levels rising from 77.27 percent to 86.36 percent. The class average score increased from 77.31 to 83.81. Improvements were also observed in affective and psychomotor domains. Affective participation increased from 74.55 percent to 79.09 percent, while students’ psychomotor skills improved from 67.27 percent to 78.18 percent. Overall, the study concludes that the generative learning model contributes significantly to enhancing students’ engagement, understanding, and performance in accounting learning.
